Sky Captain and the Wolrd of Tomorrow!

Has anyone seen the previews for this movie? The deco/metropolis look along with the giant robots reminds me a bit of the Big O.

Hmm looks like a movie that has potential to suck. Quite like Leage of Extroidinary Gentelman.

Though the giant robots frlying at the start reminded me of that duo flashback in ep 13.

Well now we know that giant robots look fake and dumb in movies. It kind of shows how bad a big o movie could look.

Thought the movie did have a 30's new york feel that I like.

It actually looks like it might have potential if it is done right. It has the look of a Big O prequel.

After seeing that preview during LotR, I learned some of my friends watch Big-O:

(Giant Robots show up)

friend: "Big-O, showtime!"
me:
(We see the hero)
friend: "Wow, Roger smith sure let himself go"
(we see the blonde girl)
His girlfriend: "So did Angel"
(We see that chick that was in Tomb Raider)
Me: "And Dastun got a sex change."
(everyone laughs)

I stick with the statement my friend made, when it first appeared at the Return of the King showing - "It's like I fell asleep, and my mind imagined the crappiest thing possible"

Lol.... Look pretty cool, expect that the robots all look like Sybils robot bomb. I'll definatly see it/

On another forum, someone had complained bitterly about the music playing during the Master and Commander trailers, and I learned that music for trailers is an off-the-shelf product, licensed to the film company for that use.

In the case of M&C, it was music from the Dune miniseries. In this case, it is from Stargate. In neither case does it mean any more than the people putting the trailer together wanted to evoke a certain mood.

So, whether you love or loathe Stargate, don't expect the movie to be anything like it.

That movie looks like it could be a lot of fun. Not a "great" movie, but a fun one. Like the old Flash Gordon serials and the like.

I just saw the trailer for this earlier this morning! Someone at work had mentioned that it looked like a neat movie, so I went to the website to view the trailer. I think it looks kinda neat, myself. Nothing that'll blow your mind and have you agonizing over the secrets of the universe, but something fun. I think the giant robots look fine-- of course you can tell that they're CG, but what's wrong with that?
