Uncle Tomato, this is awesome. Dorothy's has a certain glow to her eyes. Smile

That's kinda freeky seeing just her eyes like that in her shadow/siloutte. Spooky.
I also would like my boot back, tvperez.

It's amazing the things you never really notice until there's a still picture of them. That's one heck of a pic, ACT!

Wow, a lot of you guys are doing panoramics that I avoided because I thought they'd be too hard!

Here's one from UNDERGROUND TERROR (love those direct-from-DVD captures!):

I have the season 1 DVD set...but for some reason when I play them on my computer I can't take screenshots of them...WHAT'S THE DEAL!?

I'd be able to get more friggin pics if I knew the trick of taking them. (Cos just pressing "PrntScrn" don't work for the DVD player)

What do you do for it ACT?

Do you have Intervideo? This application is great for taking screen shots.

That is just priceless the way things are like that. I fear that the look on ROger's face there will be out to disturbing, and likely perverted use in the funny pics thread.

I don't think so... :-/ Hmm..

nope I don't

I usually use"PrntScrn" or Infraview to do it...but since DVD's don't work like avi or mpg I can't use them :-/
(I even had another screenshot program that worked EXCELLENT...on the old computer :-/ I transfered it over entirely and it doesn't work at all...not even for AVI files!! WTF!! Mad This program is what I used to get all my pics! AND IT DON'T WORK ON Windows XP?!)

Where do I get this InterVideo?

As for praising Uncle Tomato, I think I have met my quota yesterday. Despite the risk of being called a kiss ass, I will say it anyways:

** Clearing throat **

As an official representative of the "The People's Obsession of Dorothy" Society, or PODS, I would like to take this time to thank all contributors to this fantastic thread. Your contributions are deeply appreciated. Please continue on with this worth while endeavor.

It is imperative that you all understand that we the fans are forever in awe of these panoramic master pieces. If we are silent, it is because we are in a state of shock. Thank you for your time, patience and your on going contributions to the proliferation of the Big O by means of art, fiction and rhetorical theories.

I know I'm a little late but, good work on the pans, uh, everbody that did pans! I like them, they're very pretty. Yea.

Since we're talking about programs and such, i have a question, i use Infraview for all my screenshots and panoramic pics, but....some of the big o episodes i have are in a Xvid format, and won't play on it, i've got the latest verison of the cocde but i can only hear sound, no video, so, it's usless to me, so, since Infraview hasn't had any new updates for a bit, and i haven't found anyother programs that are as good, i'm asking for help on this matter.

Oh yes i almost forgot, i have some japanese acts that play very, very fast on Infraview, and even though i can slow the speed down and all, i'd like to see if i can fix the problem.

Well, PowerDVD, which has a free trial download, does pretty good screen shots, though it doesn't have frame-by-frame pause control the way I'd like it.

But what I'm really using is Ulead Video Studio 7, which came with my TV tuner card. You can download a trial version (115 MB!) at http://www.ulead.com, but it costs $99 to buy. I got it bundled with a TV tuner card that cost a little over $50.

There's probably decent freeware out there, but I haven't found it yet.

Ulead Video Studio can't actually read the BIG O DVDs, which are copy-protected, but everyone and his dog has reverse-engineered DVD encryption and the world full of decryption programs. I used DVD Decrypter from http://www.dvddecrypter.com. This made unprotected copies of the video on my hard disk

The combination isn't as easy to use as I'd like, but it gets the job done.

The main thing is to get something that will save the actual DVD images in their full 720x480 pixel glory and provide frame-by-frame pause control.

ULEAD?! That's what I use(d) to make my old Jeep avatar! O_O

...50$ for a TV card?! ...WHERE THE HELL DO YOU GET YOURS!? Around me they cost over $100!! Crying

I plan on buying a TV card later to help me with making Avatars, pics, movies (heh), etc...Any suggestions? (PM me please...I forgot that I was starting to drag this thread off topic Embarrassed Sweatdrop )

((Sorry Pen and Krang...we'll get right back on topic after this Anime Smile Promise Wink Big Grin ))

This topic is of general interest for anyone doing panoramic pics, retouching, etc., since we have to get the images somehow!

Just use "Winfast TV 2000 XP Deluxe" as a search string in your favorite search engine, and you ought to see some price-shopper sites on the first screen of results. I found several sites offering it for $45, and one offered $5 shipping. That's where the $50 comes from (no sales tax in Oregon, either!).

The device as TV input (cable), composite video inputs, and S-Video inputs. Pretty snazzy. It has an FM tuner. I've barely looked at most of the software. You can tell it to program shows on a schedule, so presumably you could acquire the entire series automatically once you've set up the recording schedule, so long as you keep your computer on during Adult Swim nights (and if you have a big enough hard disk). The DVDs have much better quality.

I was told by a friend of mine (a long time ago) to get "WIN-TV GO" (a tv card) model# 190.

That's what he uses and from what he's told me it works great Big Grin
If you hear of anything better let me know, if not I'm gonna get that over the weekend.
