What if there was a Big O live action movie?

Big Money 11-23-2003 07:24 PM
Dastun could be:

Samuel L. Jackson!

It would be like Shaft with Giant Robots!
Mike 11-23-2003 07:35 PM
*waka-chicka-waka-chicka*

Dastun: Aw, now you AIN'T gon' be smackin' MY TOWN with that whack-ass robot now, are ya?

Beck: Naw, Shaft, it ain't like that!
Big Money 11-23-2003 07:52 PM
Roger- "He's a bad mother!"

Dorothy- "Shutchyomouth!"

Roger- "I'm just talkin' bout Dastun!"

Dorothy- "We can dig it!"

Dastun- "Ya damn right!"

Hmm..

Roger: Brendan Fraisure

Angel: dunno the actresses name, whoever was TX in the third terminator..

Norman: Dunno, Connary would be great for any British role, but I can't see him bowing and saying "master roger" and repairing a megadeus. I mean, it used to be everything he got into blew up when he was bond, how can we not expect the same odd curse to travel time and movies?

You know, now that I think about it.. a movie shouldn't be made off the Big O show. It should be made off the manga. They are divided up well and have lots more detail, or so i'm told (haven't exactly read them.. yet) I mean, the seriousness of the show would have to say, but the manga seems to be able to make a good multipart movie.

Realistic megadeuses? Can that be done? I'd be scared and just draw them and put the actors in front of a green screen. But that'd be hard to do an entire movie with..

And who would manufacture the griffen?
GoGoArlo 11-23-2003 10:45 PM
Movies are hard to make, especially if they are based on an ongoing series. (heck, they were workin on Spider man for over ten years) Hmmm who would I cast in the movie you ask? (i cant spell names worth a damn)

Roger: Johnny Depp

Dorothy: dunno really...uh Cristina Richi?

Norman: Paul Newman (you young'ins might know him as the guy on the salad dressing bottle)

Swartzwald: Willam Depho

Beck: Beck Henson

Angel: Gwenyth Paltro

I hadn't thought of that, but it would have to go on sale in the mainstream, because it is the phattest car in existence...

and as for Johnny Depp being Roger, I think hes better suited to somebody like beck, or Schwartzwald...

Roger Smith: Hugh Jackman
Angel: Ashley Judd or Sarah Michelle Gellar
Dorothy: Natalie Portman, Keira Knightley, Scarlett Johannsen
Beck: Ed Norton
Schwarzwald: Christopher Walken
Alex Rosewater: Alec Baldwin
Gordon Rosewater: BRANDO
Dan Dastun: Billy Bob Thornton or Hugo Weaving
Norman: Hugo Weaving or James Cromwell

I think with this cast and a good Anti-Spielbergian fantasy director, it could be the greatest picture ever made. But there would have to be more than one. Two, at least, maybe three.

I like that cast, except for acouple people I don't know, It would be a good movie. Please make it, please make it.
Mike 11-24-2003 12:42 PM
Hugo Weaving...For some reason all I can picture is Agent Smith.

Roger comes home, his house if full of Normans.
Norman: Hello, Mr. Smith. Like what we've done with the place?
Zopwx2 11-24-2003 09:31 PM
DASTUN!

JEAN RENO!
BethMcBeth 03-16-2005 03:38 AM
If there ever was a love action Big O show I would like to possibely see Tom Cruise as Roger (thats what a article in Anim e Play said that he was based off!)
And if possible Have Audrey Tautou is Dorothy and Iam sure we could just use Paris Hilton as Angel! That would be funny!
YouGotDSd 08-14-2005 03:29 PM
Say, if someone here >_> planned on going to film school, who would you cast as everyone? In ones that I was indifferent about, I listed both that were good choices

Roger: Collin Ferral
Dorothy: Morgan Webb
Dastun: Michael Chiclis
Beck: Brad Pitt/Adam Sessler
Norman: The guy who played Jeevs in Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Shwartsvald: Bruce Willis/Hugh Jackman
Gordon: maybe Hugo Weaving
Alex: Jack Nicholson
Angel: The Alba
Alan Gabriel: Ray Park (darth maul/toad)

Pierce Brosnan = Roger Smith.

I'd always thought that Roger Smith was based on the most recent James Bond, or rather the younger Brosnan in Remington Steele.

It would have been nice to have the boat-tailed Auburn too!

Pygmalion

I 100% agree! The hair, the clothes, the attitude...Pierce Brosnan is Roger Smith.

Well, save for the gun... Big Grin
The Big Finale 08-26-2005 05:31 PM
Mattartist: Yes, that is right. Christina Ricci is definitely THE Dorothy.

As for Micheal Caine...

...eh, not so much. Patrick Stewart would be a MUCH better choice, in my opinion, though obviously not the perfect one. Norman seems a harder character to cast than say.
DorothyFan1 08-26-2005 06:09 PM
Christina Ricci is NOT Dorothy. If you've seen Sin City the movie...you'd see that it should be Devon Aoki (Miho). She has that "robotic" look about her that makes her a perfect fit for R.Dorothy.

BTW, I don't see the possibility of a Big O movie being made UNLESS Director James Cameron's insanely ambitious Battle Angel Alita is successful. This James Cameron movie, from what I'm hearing will potentially change movie making in the same way George Lucas' changed film making with Star Wars film making technology.

If Battle Angel Alita is box office gold...THEN we can talk shop about a Big O movie. Until then...we have to wait for James Cameron's film to be released.

Roger's used a gun before. He was with the Military Police after all. He just thinks they're déclassé. So did Brosnan's Remington Steele. Hmm...Roger Smith...Remington Steele. The more I think about it the more convinced I become that they 'borrowed' from that character. Heck, the eyebrows alone should be proof positive. Big Grin

Can't really see Ricci in the role (even tho I love her). Natalie Portman's Mathilda from The Professional is THE perfect Dorothy. The right hairstyle, complexion, attitude, toughness, and fragility. Even her story is similar to Dorothy's. If they aged her 10 years and dyed her hair auburn she'd be absolutely perfect.
Dorothy
Dorothy at the Nightingale
Dorothy stuck to an electromagnet

And I second Jean Reno as Dastun. No way Cameron should direct, tho. Peter Weir would bring the perfect manga/anime sensibility to the project. With the Wochoski brothers as tech/cgi backup.
Mattartist 08-30-2005 01:44 PM
Actually, Natalie Portman could do it now, too... Big Grin

Okay, now my brain isn't working. THIS IS HARD!

But I know one thing: Jim Carrey IS Beck. I mean, who else could do him better? Whenever I watch Beck, I ALWAYS think of Jim Carrey.
