Personally I'd rather see Big-O next sunday than Family Guy, anyway.[/COLOR]

It works out great for us, too. November is Birthday Month in the Zola/Falcon7 household! My stepdaughter is October 31, I'm November 1st, my son is November 4th and my daughter's boyfriend is November 15th. We planned our party for November 2nd this year, so seeing the finale will be a additional treat for a very fun day! Smile
Three Birthdays and a Big-O Ep.
Now THERE'S a party! Big Grin

Remember, the Big O has been consistently beating almost everything that's shown in that time slot, even Letterman and the Tonight show. They value that, believe me, because when they can show numbers like that to their advertisers, they make money.

Hey Zola, where can you find info on Big O's ratings? I've looked all over for them with no success. Maybe I'm just an idiot.

I believe you though, since you're always on the ball Wink . It's just that I'd had the impression that Big O wasn't all that popular. Didn't one of the cards for an early season 2 episode say something about how they almost took it off the air because the ratings were so poor? Or not. Maybe I'm just an idiot.

Several times, the bumper cards have shown the Big O ratings and it has never been less than number 3. The thing is, companies have to pay for that info from Nielsen which is why you can't just take a cruise and look them up. They may show up a bit later. Zap2it.com often has ratings but unfortunately tend to present them in a "top 25" format, and 11 pm on Sunday is not the place where you find a lot of viewers, LOL!

I belong to an extremely massive mailing list where at least one person has access to the raw numbers, if I can get in touch with her, I will come back and post them.

In the meantime, here is an older article that also verifies that Cartoon Network has the option to get 26 more episodes.

Thanks Zola.

Yeah, I knew I could't find them directly since I'd have to shell out big big money to get access to the raw ratings. I'd been looking for any mention of how well Big O was doing compared to other shows but I came up with absolutely nothing.

I never saw those cards. Maybe I'm just blind.

Yeah, I knew that AS had the option to order two more seasons . . . That's one of the reasons I am so strongly behind the season 3 movement. The show *must* go on!

[Edit: Arguments removed. --Krang]

Children. Please Smile .

I will start off by saying this: I do believe that everyone here has a right and a correct perspective to feel the way they do. However, I DO NOT believe that anyone - on whatever side of this debate - has a right to attack other members over the forums. I'm not taking sides either way, and if you're upset with each other, than cool, but please

Take it up via PM/IM/whatever and keep it off the boards.

You're only making more work for Krang and Shredder, and the other members probably don't want there to be any fighting Sweatdrop .

Changing the subject back to the more positive turn it took earlier (about the good-things about it being on next sunday)

I'd like to point out that this does give fans like me (Who have episodes taped but not yet watched) a chance to catch-up! i'm watching all my tapes in one sitting this friday! Big Grin

I'm actually starting to think some good may have come from all this:

#1 - One really good thing about last night is at least one person (dawnstrider?) who had missed Stripes got to see it last night. That's a good thing. Pleased

#2 - I found out Andy Merrill (TV's one and only Brak) is a really cool guy!

#3 - I was shocked and pleased to witness the furor generated over the screwup - and amazed at how many Big O fans there actually were on the Adult Swim message boards.

#4 - I was quite pleased at how civilly most of the posts / conversations (on AS and here at P-C) were (excluding mine). I think that speaks volumes at to the restraint and intelligence of most Big O fans Smile

#5 - I am actually quite pleased at how Adult Swim has handeled the matter, albeit a bit belatedly. I think the anger I felt (along with alot of other Big O fans) was due to #1 The mass deletes on the AS boards, and initially the (absolutely insane) complete lack of a responce to the questions posted, and #2 The 'ignoring' of the screwup (sans one nice but slightly tipsy girl's comments very late in the night) at the party, when they had the perfect means to tell everyone there had in fact been a screwup, and apoligize, and calm the Big O fans then and there. There was some *mild* taunting of Big O fans at the party (making pithy comments about the 'politeness' of some of the AS message board posts and whatnot) - which, since they still weren't acknoledging the problem only made me more irritated. This (to me) all seemed to indicate that last night's showing of Stripes was intentional, and a very, very mean halloween prank. I believe differently now, and place great weight on Adult Swim's actions - i.e. the showing of Big O next sunday, at the one and only time practically everyone will be expecting episode 26 to air. And yes, I do think the moving of the Family Guy broadcast is an indication of significant effort and sacrifice on Adult Swim's part - thanks Kim!

#6 - I will always admire, and thank the 'Big O is Displeased' guy for representing us, doing what I think we all wanted to do - respectfully show our displeasure at the screwup. It was of GREAT solace to me last night!

#7 - Finally I think an arguement can now actually be made that this whole event has help raise awareness of Big O, and can only improve the possibility of a third (and forth?) season, if such is called for. I, for one, hope it is. Pleased

All this (along with getting a good nap in) helps take alot of the 'sting' out of last night for me. I hope it does for the other members as well Smile

One last thing - as for Tetsu Deinonychus Mach-2's posts, I am pleased that you were so calm about the matter (unlike myself Frown ) - that speaks quite well of you Smile I think alot of people (including myself) saw your earlier posts as a bit on the condescending side to us who were more 'emotional' about things. I think I will say (at some risk of getting clobbered by Outlaw Skull with rotten tomatos)..

Negotiation result: We Have come to terms Smile

(I run away quickly, ducking......)

Thanks Bentar, those are some very good points. Big Grin

Man is this the best news I have heard in a while. Because of some sick twisted chain of events I wasn't able to record the episode becuase I wasn't home and I was dreading having to wait like 3 weeks for a rerun, but now only a week. Man sucks as a whole for such a screw up but worked out for me.
Zola 10-28-2003 12:23 AM
You were right, Bentar. It's an ill wind that blows nobody any good. Wink
