Big O Is Back- As Response

"Umm...hey, boss? Yea, there's this thing that just came up...no, I'll be able to come in, just not at 11:00. More like 12:00. No, it won't be a regular thing. Okay. Right."

We *at least* deserve an OVA out of this.

I'm glad they apologized. I just wish they'd treated the fans with a little more respect last night. (They found out about the gaffe *before* they got wasted...)

I hope they repeat it at 2 am...(dont see why they wouldnt)

I stilll think they did that on purpose and it blew up in their face. Either way, It'll be on next week....Whew...

I believe they were just in a hurry to get to the party. Someone was probably running late (that someone being the "Tape Man") and picked up the wrong whatever they use to show the programs on and stuck it in. You'd think that "IF" the programs were on separate media that someone could have gone back and changed the media to the correct one.

Just goes to show you how miserable one's life can be when you are in a hurry, like ALOT of people I know.

Me, I'm laid back. Even running late getting the kids to school. I don't rush. I'd much rather have a late child than to hit someone elses trying to beat the mad rush to get to school on time.

One more thing - I hope whomever was in charge of the progams for last night is getting a good case of Whoop A** for the mix up

I really don't like any part of what happened last night. Even now, they don't sound apologetic at all. Nowhere in that message do I read any kind of sympathy for the fans, and this from a station that is supposed to be by the fans, for the fans.

"We want to make it up to you" ? Making it up to *me* would mean having them go out of their way to rearrange the schedule and show it as soon as possible. It was their mistake after all, and they handled it very badly where the fans are concerned. That kind of mistake and the PR that resulted would be unacceptable on any other station.

But, oh well, life goes on...with just an itty bitty smidge of bitterness thrown in.

Making it up would be running the enitre Season 2 Acts ALL this week ending with Act 26 on Sunday night at 11pm

EDIT: Better YET: The whole series, ending on Sunday with 26.

People can mess up. It's that simple. I mean it's seems like a very odd coincidence that this would happen on the night of Act 26 of all nights. I stayed up and watched Stripes so CN could get their ratings (anything to help to get a Season 3). Plus, as far as I'm concered, Family Guy fans (like myself) can wait 2 weeks like Big O fans (like myself) had to.

The only problem with putting it on ASAP is that some people who would usually tune in might miss it. I think it's better that they have a few days to let everyone know of their SNAFU and when Big O will re-air.

True people can and do mess up, but they are suppose to be professionals. There is no excuse for this. I just have to keep telling myself one more week.

Unfortunately, you missed a lot of it. Andy, Brak's "dad" was the first to break the silence. He was extremely sympathetic and did everything he could to find out what went wrong. At first he thought that the schedule was wrong, and then he came back and told us that it really was just a dumb, dumb mistake.

Shortly after, Kim posted and his threads were deleted, likely because it was no longer necessary.

I agree with the decision to show it on Sunday at the usual time. Not everyone is on the web. If I had no way of finding out when it would be shown, I think that I would definitely tune in at the usual time the next week hoping, so this makes perfect sense.

That is a HUGE concession, that they would yank the Family Guy episode they have been promoting heavily for weeks. I suspect that part of the reason that it took them so long this morning to announce it was because they were in a massive meeting trying to figure out the best way to do damage control.

Remember, the Big O has been consistently beating almost everything that's shown in that time slot, even Letterman and the Tonight show. They value that, believe me, because when they can show numbers like that to their advertisers, they make money.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see stuff about it on Adult Swim over the week, and we can spread the word to people we know who don't necessarily frequent the web.

Messing up is glitches on the video. Messing up is knocking a switch and blacking out the signal. Grabbing the wrong tape, putting the wrong tape in, and not checking it's the right tape, and not seeing there is a problem after the mistake began is someone not doing their job. And someone is not making sure that person is doing their job.

The execs at CN knew exactly what they were doing with their apology. Damage control. Whether it was an accident or joke-gone-south, they needed to cover themselves from the incoming. Rescheduling FG wasn't a big concession. From the reactions on the AS board, people had clogged up multiple email addresses there, and even began listing the companies that air commercials during that time to voice complaints. Nothing kicks in the integrity faster than a threat to the ol' wallet. Imagine if they didn't reschedule.

At least we get to watch it next Sunday.

I am not sure if Season 3 can be completely discounted. If you read the apology statement, they use the term "Season Finale", as oppose to "Series Finale". Do you think that it is a hint for things to come?

Well, I meant that they should air it ASAP, *in addition to* re-airing it next Sunday. It would only be fair to those who were confused by the mistake.

And as for Andy, it was extremely nice of him to come to the aid of the Big O fans, but the way I see it, he was only doing what some higher-up should have been doing right away. So, many thanks to him for helping to soothe our hurt, but it didn't accomplish much anyway.

Oh, well. I don't mind waiting as long as the rest of AS is on schedule this week!

Hmm.....I don't know. -shrugs- They probably aren't that specific. Oh well. That still doesn't mean we should consider a season 3 for Big O non-existent.

Good, airing it this coming Sunday is the least they can do for this mess up and it's good for the people who aren't on the web since they will probably check next Sunday automatically.

I was really annoyed at the thought of possibly having to wait two months, thru all the reruns to see it.

It works out great for us, too. November is Birthday Month in the Zola/Falcon7 household! My stepdaughter is October 31, I'm November 1st, my son is November 4th and my daughter's boyfriend is November 15th. We planned our party for November 2nd this year, so seeing the finale will be a additional treat for a very fun day!
