Episode 26 Discussion (The episode that didn't air)

John 10-26-2003 11:06 PM
Ok this is a good and bad situation: Good: Everyone else saw Stripes also, and it wasn't just my satellite messing up. Bad: Act 26 doesn't air this week. Good: The show's not over. Bad: It may be over at 2 am... and I don't want to have to wait even longer.... Good: I heard that the Americans may make a new ending to Big O so there can be a season 3. Hopefully this means that whenever this episode airs, we will see this episode. Bad: This is probably just a rumor.

If it runs again at 2:00 am I will not be able to see it. I will bot be able to record it.

I know you and Krang have a "No Posting Entire Episodes" rule, but if it is on at 2:00 am, and they do have a web version on it, would I be allowed (for this one time only) to ask for a copy?

On the Brighthouse Program guide, they have 'No data' listed at 11pm for Cartoon Network. However, it lists 2am as act 26 showing.

I have to get up at 6:30 to catch three city buses to get to college. This better be damned worth it to stay up till 2:30.

But if the official guides and CN itself are saying act 26 is airing at 11pm Sunday, Oct 26, 2003 -

This is false advertising. They *can* be sued for such behavior. If we take it that far.

I doubt not airing the show at that time is grounds for a lawsuit.

Anyway, I say wait until CN makes an official announcement as to why Big O didn't air before getting angry. I was looking foward to this too, and I too am disappointed, but one should not break to pieces over it. Just wait until AS explains themselves until jumping down their throats.

I'm about 99% sure that whoever said they changed the ending made it up.

Well, I'm still pissed off at AS. If they had a plan to making an alternative ending but could only do it if the ratings were high enough, they should have first played season one several times before the aired season 2 episodes. That way, at least they'd have the rating enough to make the U.S. version of Big O in time for when it is supposed to air, not keep us in suspense and end up getting a not-so-very Halloweeny episode!
GoGoArlo 10-26-2003 11:08 PM
Crap on this, lets go play Big O's Super Punch Out.

Since paradigm city forum was down at the start of "the atrocity" I made my way over to the AS Forum to see if they posted an explaination....

The funny thing is, they made their situation a whole lot worse. It started as a few posts questioning where the final episode was, and people we just replying under these threads....

....but then the threads started disappearing.....

and then the massive spamming began! The Moderators even started getting mad at all the spammers, but they really dug their own grave with this one! By trying to silence the complaints, they really peeved everyone!

And, of course, they still haven't posted an explaination.

Mad

Yup, I gotta go to bed.

Love you, VCR!!!
"Yeah, but..." 10-26-2003 11:09 PM
Well, one of the AS mods has called it quits for the night. He said his usual contact with the network is offline (because everyone's at the party). That makes me wonder if they'll correct this during the re-air. However, I believe that they had CN on over at that party. At least it sounded like Big O was on in the background...

I heard the rumor about the alternate Big O ending on another message board as well... so there's an oh so slight possiblility of it happening. Even my DirectTV guide said The Show Must Go On was airing... as did AS's site... this sucks... Oh well I'm staying up 'til 2... Hopefully they'll air it then...
Patsai 10-26-2003 11:12 PM
READ THIS:

Wait, let's not get mad. Maybe this is something that AS wants. Who knows, maybe if we're mad enough they will show Act 26, thus ending Big O. If we don't push them to do it, that may be sending out a signal to them from the veiwers that we want an additional 26 episodes of Big O.

Hopefully they'll correct it at 2... if not I'll be so mad... I'll have to wait 'til December to see it...
Mike 10-26-2003 11:14 PM
I"m thinking that it was a mistake. Supposedly nobody knows what happened, so I set my VCR for 2 am...it better be on, or something's gonna get broken.
SnowAngel 10-26-2003 11:17 PM
I threw this info that one of you kindly dug-up all over the AS boards. Hopefully, people see it. Keep spreading it around if they don't show 26. Although I'm hoping there is a good reason why they did it. After all giving us a "OMG... No ending?" ending to Season 1 kept us hyped up for years....

If only my VCR was not broken.

While annoyed, I'm waiting until AS posts officially WTF happened.

Until then, in about 5 hours I have to wake up to register for classes and in 8 hours or so wake up again for classes, so I'm calling it a night.

They BETTER compensate us.
