It already did, the ratings alone were insanely high (higher than any show on AS I believe, and definately higher than any anime aired thusfar that I know of). But now...wow...

And hey, when/if AS gets big, we can all say...we were watching, the night they botched episode 26.

Its like the JFK assassination.

Except with giant robots.

Fired or not, that poor soul is to the AS fan community, what that misguided fan who deflected a falling ball was to the chicago cubs fans.

...Well...I doubt he had to be escorted from the broadcasting offices with a coat over his head to hide his identity, but still.. Tongue

That's *exactly* what I thought. Only the AS guy has the advantage of being totally anonymous. There were about a thousand people last night lusting for his spilt blood . . . whoever he turns out to be . . .

My thoughts: somebody somewhere is *so* fired . . .

Overall, I think this is a great thing for the series though. Now that I'm over the disappointment of last night (yes, I was mad, but I was also level-headed) I'm really thrilled to see Big O fans other than us speak out en masse. Many of them acted really childish, but the sheer number of people bitching to AS must have surprised those AS fools . . . and sheer number is really what is needed to convince the AS execs to sponsor season 3.

However, even if we don't get season 3, I think this was still a good thing in the long run. As somebody else said, if this really is the end, then it's nice that Big O is going out with a bang.

perhaps this was all part of God's grad design, to show AS how BIG and vocal Big O's fanbase is and to prompt then to make a season 3. That would certainly be an answer to my prayers! Big Grin They would be crazy not to ask for a third season to rake in the views from all of these fans they now know about. But then again, they had to be crazy to let something like last night happen in the first place... Frown

Let's just see what happens.

Rumour is - per a friend at Time Warner. Many fans threatened to pull their AOL accounts. That speaks volumes to the brass at a corp like Time Warner. It's one of the ways they make their money, especially right now as they are trying to sell us on that AOL 9.0 crap. YEA for them putting it back. Was definately most upsetting last night, but would seem all is well with the universe again. * smiles and grins* Pleased

Yeah, they cleaned up again. The board was flooded like you wouldn't believe.

NO WAY. Mad
I woke up this morning to see stripes? I went through my entire school day thinking WTF until I read this thread. I'm not going to repeat whats been said, its been repeated enough. However, I would like to express that If this is an accident, they had better fix it. If it was intentional, well, F___ Big O "love" threads at the AS forums, I am GONNA SPAM THE HELL OUT OF THEM until I MYSELF get an answer. I don't give a F___, they can ban me, I'll keep joining up until they permantly kick me off.
i mean, as I said, I have seen the J version-but the fact that some people-who tried to remain spoiler free for so long, and anticipated this more than anything don't even get to see it?Naw, thats just messed up.

So I'm gonna watch AS tonight. If they don't have an apology/or something explaining what happened and a make up schedule in their opening, then something is really wrong.I won't watch CN period, even for Lupin3. Like I said, if it was accidental, it's different...if not, then people wonder why things like Kazaa are so popular. AS is not the only place I can watch anime. So AS, it's now your showtime.Make it right, please. If not, I'm beginning to believe that all their jokes about how to join AS and work for them are actually real.

I taped last night episode... came home to watch... put in tape... pressed play... EPISODE 20 *dies*

I have not stopped laughing for 3 hours....
witwerg 10-27-2003 05:41 PM
OK good it so was a mistake, they apologized, and are going to show next week. Smile Yay! So does this means we have to put up our pitch forks and stop the lynching? Darn Wink What a strange turn of events. Confused Well I guess the Show must go on.. *ducks* What a shock that was! Something tells me that they will definitely double check the tape more than once next time. Big Grin Big Grin
Darkside 10-27-2003 05:51 PM
A mistake eh? Oh well that gives me time to reset my timer for twelve. I had ran to the Tv and started the tape and when it showed Teen Titans instead of Big-O, well lets just say an unhappy 14 year old was what peolpe had to deal with that morningEmbarrassed Sweatdrop
When I got home thinking that there was going to be floods of talking about Act 26, I was seriously surprised there wasn't (well of good praise at that :rolleyesSmile
But I'm still royally displeases with adult swim Mad (hates such a strong word Pleased )
hustion 10-27-2003 05:59 PM
Wouldn't it be funny if all of you non-spoiler people finally see Act 26, and unanimously HATE it? As if it's the suckiest Act yet?

It'd be funny, but it'll never happen, cuz Act 26 pwns Act 12 in my opinion.
Zopwx2 10-27-2003 06:12 PM
did anyone notice the brak show dad saying somthing about tomatoes. (I haven't seen act 26), isn't that a direct reference to episode 20?
Mike 10-27-2003 06:17 PM
It could really be a direct reference to almost any episode in Season 2.

One person, I think it was somebody here, said that the Halloween special was originally meant not to include Big-O, but some dumb exec decided to change it and use the episode with a bunch of tomatoes and the "zombie" Megadeus...not realizing it hadn't been advertised and that the finale was supossed to air...so even then, it's not a prank, it's a really stupid mistake, I don't know if this is true or not.

You seem to be confusing 'funny' with 'tragedy.'

If you mean if it would be horrible if us (mostly Wink ) non-spoiler people saw it and hated it, then yes, it would. Frown

From what I`ve heard, and the screenshots I`ve seen...

spoiler (highlight to read):
Act 26 is an even bigger cliffhanger than act 13. We need some kind of movie/OAV/third season. It is NESSESARY.

If you want to be spoiled, and see screenshots for the whole episode 26, simply click the following link.

I don't think this is gonna just blow off real quick.or at all. At least, for this week, the boards are gonna be filled with AS hate, just to let time go by. And personally, I have NEVER heard of a entertainment company making such an error, ever.Thats whats so amazing to me.
And btw, raptor, I felt like using alot of your pics for my sig...but I can hold off for the clean ones, lol

I do have a question though--lets say, this is really it.After next week, and the reairing,no new ending,no movie, season 3 etc.,how many of you guys will continue to watch, support AS? Just wondering.

BOO! AS IS TA L337 SUXORS!!!
:snicker: this is fun Pleased
Raptor 10-27-2003 09:17 PM
I didn`t make them. that link was posted at toonzone, I think.
Mike 10-27-2003 09:19 PM
SixFortyFive made them. That's his website. He has a LOT of stuff there.
Bentar 10-27-2003 10:04 PM
Hey all - Adult Swim just did a bright red 'programming alert' bumper at 10pm CST notifying everyone of the showing of episode 26 next sunday, and the move of the 'unaired' family guy episode. Another two points for Adult Swim.
Sharpshooter005 10-27-2003 10:27 PM
They just keep apologizing, but at least they're still poking fun at the issue.."[it'll happen again]"

Otherwise..yeah, I can only take so many apologies.
