That's damn cool, since I loved the Voltron show back in the day when Toonami first showed it. Although I'm not feeling how [adult swim] is trying to screw with my sleep pattern by putting it on at 5:30.
Bad form, [as]. Bad form.

Actually, I've noticed a number of AMV's that I look around at YouTube were in fact deleted by I didn't think the number of them would be that high. Damn shame for those who made the AMV's though.

AMVs are not the target for deletion, they were aiming for complete series, you could find all Naruto, Bleach, OP, and other series now you may just find eps within the latest couple of weeks.
AMVs are only deleted due to reports or some tags.
Also I tend to see at least 1/8 of the new vids put up daily are from Asian (usually Japanese) shows and hundreds of AMVs (usually when I try to find actual music vids or live shows.) so it is not like there is a drought of Japanese material at youtube.

Speaking as someone who got their account that housed a bunch of my own AMVs deleted...I would have to say they were going after the AMVs as well...I mean my Cowboy Bebop and OLS videos were taken down upon Sunrise's request as well as a few Bleach videos and a Saiyuki video that were taken down by request from TV Tokyo which in turn lead to the freezing of my account.
I don't think just hitting the report link would send it straight to the production companies behind the anime. I mean All of mine were taken down through the companies. It wasn't like it just said "because of copyright infringement" It actually said "this video has been taken down by Sunrise Inc. due to an infringement of copyright"
They're aiming for episodes, yes. But it would also seem they don't want even the slightest bit of anime on Youtube, period. Then again it just could be guilt by association.

Well then you were on the short end of the stick, hundreds of anime and other Japanese series can be found at youtube so it is not like they are going gung-ho against everything Japanese. Also you can be tattled on by a dick who thinks too much of your material is copy-written and deserves to be taken down. Also like I said, your tags maybe what screws you over... I know it's happen to me before.

Haruhi Suzumiya in Gaza
According to this afpbb article, during a recent Gaza City protest against Hamas, a young girl brandished a placard with a picture of Haruhi Suzumiya that said, "Stop Killing the Children." The protest was in reaction to a drive-by-shooting in which 3 children died. |

The incident itself is no laughing matter, though.

In the corridor filled with farewell messages for Oussama, eight years old and Ahmed, six years old, the school recess bell rings and the childs shouting begins like nothing never happened. But three days after the unfortunate event, the shock, the anger and the incomprehension is still present.
The two kids, and their other brother, sons of a colonel from the information services loyal to the president Mohamoud Abass' Fatah, were going to shool on Monday when they were killed in their car by armed men. Apparently targeted their father the colonel Bahaa Baaloucha wasn't in the car.
"The kids are asking me question that I can't answer. They asked who did this? Why kids? Are we gonna die, too?" explains the school principal. For her the death of the three kids will definetively affect the psychology and logic of the students, especially the one in their class. "They'll never forget what happened. Today it's a bit better but at the begining the were extremely frightened", she says sitting behind her desk.
" I am afraid to go to school, Im afraid they'll shoot us. When I heard of Oussama's death I said to my mom that I couldn't go to school on foot from now on" says student Hayat, eight years old with an hesitant voice.
"What's really shocking for them, with the death of those three kids, is the fact that they had been killed by Palestinian" and not by the Israeli army, explains Franz Altrenstrasser, psychologist at the "Médecin sans frontière" in Gaza. "This shoutout re-awakes fears of an civil war" he adds. |
