Mystic Meaning of Your Avatar

Asirt 01-31-2005 09:14 PM
It's been a long time since I've done any "Mystic Meanings" threads. Anyway, as many of you know, this avatar is of Amon and Robin from Witch Hunter Robin. I guess it's somewhat based on the avatar The Fallen Phoenix had made a long time ago... I like this scene, though.

My current avatar is from a recent anime obsession of mine called Space Knight Tekkaman Blade. This features the character D-Boy in the bio-mechanical Tekkaman Blade form looking through a flashback, I suppose. COHugh, who also introduced me to the series, made it for me. Happy

Well, the avatar that I currently have is of Chikage from Sister Princess, one of the new series that I am enjoying. Out of all the sisters in the show, I seem to like her the best because she's always being mysterious. I decided to make a new avatar of her, and this was the result.

After a while, I decided to give Chikage a rest for a while. The current avatar is of Kasumi Tomine from Alien 9. She's my favorite character in the series.

Got a new one here.
It is an SD version of the RX-78NT1 Gundam "Alex" from Gundam 0080. It comes from one of the SD mini-movies in which a school festival is being held between the Nu School for Boys ran by Char, and the Zeta school for girls ran by Haman. The Alex is leading the band that is vocally lead by Quess Paraya who is backed up bu Elpo Ple and her clone Ple Two.

Mine is a scan from the Nu Gundam model kit box.

My avatar is Nick Kang from the game "True Crime:Streets of L.A."

I wanted to use a Vash the Stampede avatar but I found out someone else is already using one so I changed my mind at the last minute because I wanted my avatar to be unique.
Ace378 04-24-2005 09:44 PM
My avatar is of Dorothy when she has the pipebomb on her and then she gets it off. Hope it isn't too hard to see....there were a lot of sacrifices i had to make to get the size to be under 30 kb!
Avenir 05-01-2005 03:42 PM
My newest avatar is an image of the character Ciel from the PlayStation 2 aerial fighter video game SkyGunner. On a relevant note, the aforementioned game is where my username derives; Avenir is the title of Ciel's aircraft.
Generalissimo D 05-01-2005 04:56 PM
That explains it. Your a giant aircraft. Big Grin
Mine is, assuming no one here is a Megaman Fan, the great Forte!
Or Bass, like the instrument. I felt his personality matches mine, and besides. Any Forte picture is badazz.

Or, you could just make it yourself, like mine Tongue

It's basically a collage of a couple of my favourite clips, eventually comprising into the picturesque form you see here Big Grin

Finally, I've decided to change my avatar.

This new one is from Metroid Prime Galleries, of Meta Ridley, the coolest boss to ever live. A smart tactician and powerful foe, Samus only beats him by getting lucky Big Grin .
Mike 05-09-2005 11:41 PM
Lucky and she fed him a bunch of super missiles/power beams.

Mine...well, Darth Vader is just uncomparably badass.

New avatar is for my old school Cutie Honey theme (in honor of me finally getting the boxset). The image is Kisaragi Honey bathing, 'blowing' away Danbei and Junpei who are peeping on her. (from the opening animation).

Iya!~

The Good:
What stands out about it is its soft style. It just looks like velvet feels. I cant really express it in words...and the background helps enhance the effect.

The Bad:Its really androgynous and I have no idea what its from. Doesnt take away though.

The Ugly:

The red eyes, though a nice touch, dont exactly have a place there. It blends in allright...but another color would have been better.

Final Verdict:8.7/10

I figured I'd respond to this post here, thereby killing two birds with one stone. My avatar (for all those who did not know) is none other than Kaworu, the Fifth Child, from Neon Genesis: Evangelion. There is a little more to him than that, but that would involve major spoilers for the series. He is not my favorite character from the series (Shinji is, actually), but he ranks rather high up there (alongside Gendo and Asuka). I really liked the original image I fashioned this avatar from, and I figured Tom and Ginny was rather old (after all, I believe that was its third tour of duty, though that particular avatar was enhanced from the previous ones).

I grey-scaled the avatar except for his eyes (yes, Kaworu's eyes are red, much like Rei's, for those who have not seen the series)...well, if I went into specific detail I would spoil too much of the series. Suffice to say, the color of his eyes is significant. I left the eye color to emphasize that significance. Furthermore, had I not grey-scaled the rest of the avatar, the filesize would be a little too big...

Yet for some reason I rather like my avatars somewhat grey-scaled. Grey-scaled is a style I have always been rather fond of (though Kairi/Kalisto/Korova/Tetsujin/Kokain/Nein was the master of that style), and I have found that partial grey-scale (which I have used in several avatars this year) can be an equally effective style.

So I suppose, in a way, my avatar style has changed greatly in the last year: my style used to be use bright, vibrant colors (Peter the Phoenix was the quintessential example), but now it has evolved into a partial grey-scale, though the choice of color always happens to be rather significant (at least, in my mind).

...that's the mystic meaning behind my avatar, I guess. Rather long-winded, though...Embarrassed Sweatdrop

For those who haven't found out yet, I've been having new avatars about once a week now (sometimes sooner). Well, the reason why I've been doing that is because most of the avatars are from the series Piano, which is the new series that will be out June 28. Anyway, to show that I'm anticipating the release of Piano in the US, I've been making avatars and sigs from the show, and the sigs link to Right Stuf's Piano web site. As you can see, I'm looking forward to the US release (seeing as I've already seen Piano subtitled). This theme will most likely continue until the series is released.
