You got vol 6!!!
Must find it now and read! And to think Amazon still lists it as coming out April 9th. I'll go to my Border's and try to find it this weekend.

I've read some references to a Big O graphic novel, possibly a Japanese only item. Does it exists and what is it about?

....this whole topic is about the Graphic Novels...They're translated...you can find them in a comic store or in a Barns and Nobel, Border's, ect.

My bad. My experience with Graphic Novel items is that they are originally created in book format, usually of better quality than comics, and is a separate stand-alone story from the regular comic. I consider the current books as Trade PaperBacks, a collection of the comic / manga, though I don't think there is a U.S. comic equivalent for the stories in book five and beyond.
Oh well, I was hoping there would be more Big O stories for me... other than the great fanfic's... though some do 'jump the shark', so to speak, a bit early with the Dorothy-Roger relationship.
Here's a funny thing: I ordered books 1 through 5 from Overstock and they shipped four books to me... the missing one is book one! So I can't even start reading them! They are just sitting there, mocking me.

Also, I can see why some people were mad about this book. Dorothy dies and doesn't come back...well...I guess she can, but she wouldn't have any memories. |

Just wait until I start my fanmanga ~.^

But isn't Dorothy on the front of book 7?
spoiler (highlight to read): |
I guess when they decided to do book 7 they had to bring her back seeing as though she's practically the fan favorite. |
Oh! I want book 6 so much now! Have to see if I can get over to Borders today. . .

Hopefully my vol 6 will be waiting for me in my comic shops hold box tomorrow. I would also like to mention that I received my imported lost memory vol 1 and 2 and from what i can tell it looks like these books happen between vol 5 and 6 of the origional series.

So no Beck? That kinda sucks...a whole new series that he won't even be in. The best chapters were always Beck ones too...too bad. No Schwarzwald either....

...uhh....I don't have any of the manga yet...(but I plan to someday)...but I just want to know who/what this is:
...and what the heck are the things on Big O's arms?!
(I need to really save up some money for this stuff)

That guy is a cyborg that's busy offing people while Instro is getting blamed.
I don't know what's on Big O's arms

I guess it's probably based off the manga, where Big O has several interchangable arms/weapons.

The cyborg was some assassin who was getting his memories back and killing his targets from 40 years ago. I always thought that he may have been a prototype character for Schwarzwald because they're both monsters with one eye and the same trenchcoat and they both find the archetype.
The things on Big O's arms are the awesome triple pumps! They're in book 6. He can do rapid piston attacks with them, but they put a lot of pressure on the arms.

Where will I be able to buys these, and how much are they ?
You can get the manga at most major bookstores (usually in a manga section of the store) or from online sellers like amazon.com for $9.99

So is volume 6 really in the stores yet?
I have 1 - 5 and just finished 4. The manga seems quite bit different from the anime. There isn't much meaningful interaction between Roger, Dorothy, and Norman... so the characters are not as fleshed out. Dorothy seems to be reduced to a meer background character appearing in a few panels to annoy Roger. She looks much younger in the Manga and there is barely a hint of 'anything' between her and Roger.
And is it me or is it sometimes hard to tell what is going on with the 'sound effects' covering up half the panel? I suppose when VIZ got the originals, the japanese sound effects are still there so they would have to make the english words EVEN BIGGER to cover them up.
I would prefer if they did what they are doing with the re-release of the nausicaa comic... have the pages unmirrored (so it's read right to left) and leave the japanese sound effects (with a translation glossary in the back). Seems like much less work to me. It's funny seeing roger driving on the right side of the car and Datsun's head veins on the wrong side.

I completely agree. This is one of the reasons I was so pissed at Viz's release of Big O. Also guys, if I get the chance I'll scan the Paradigme Gallery from volume 6 since apparently Viz took it out...

To answer your question badbob001 volume 6 is out, I got mine at my comic shop weather the book stores have them I don’t no.
I agree the manga is quite different from the anime. It doesn’t really seem like an adaptation to the anime, its seems like an alternate reality for the big o.
