There are six books in the first Big O series and there are two more books that were created later that take place between vol 5 and 6 called the Big O lost memory which has not been translated into English yet.

Um, I don't know where you saw that, but yes. There are two titles; 'The Big O' and 'The Big O: Lost Memory'.

'The Big O' consists of volumes 1 through 6 that we have translated in english (the last one was released in the U.S. back in April). And 'The Big O: Lost Memory' is a two volume title that has yet to be translated into english. . . but that doesn't mean you can't still buy it if you really really want to Big Grin

animenation.com is where I bought my copies of Lost Memory.

Here's a link directly to the manga:

No clue. Someone in this thread has said that the company that has the U.S. publication rights to Big O aren't very good at finishing titles. So there's a possibility that we'll never get it.

Which, you know, sucks. I have Chobits vol. 5 in Japanese and it's really easy to follow along with but I've got next to know idea what's going on in Lost Memory. The plots to the individual comics are easy to figure out but so much of Big O is under lying themes and there's some sort of growth in Roger and Dorothy's relationship but you can't really tell to what extent (or in what direction) their relationship's going.

anywho,

Does anyone know how many Big O Mangas there are?
Dork 06-01-2004 03:41 PM
Uh, well this should really go in the manga discussion but there are 8.

Six have been translated and released in the U.S. There are two other volumes that make up the title 'Lost Memory' that have not been translated yet but you can still buy them from animenation.com

Wow! I just purchased the final volume of the Big O manga. I did not expect a lot of things that happened. I have a lot of things to get off my chest.

First, What was the deal with the Megadeus in the opening comic. Was it the third big, or was that the Gigadeus? Angel calls the Big Fau the Big Four, so what was the third?

Second, I was really mad at the ending.
spoiler (highlight to read):
Why didn't Dorothy get her memories back!? She is just a shell now!

Finally, where does Alex get all the megadueses? He had like everyone from the entire series.
Speaking of Alex,
spoiler (highlight to read):
Since Angel pilots the Big Fau, what megadeus does Alex Pilot?

I just got Big O: Lost Memory vol. 1 the other day. Mr. Ariga must have LOVED drawing all cartoony. Tom, Kun, and Yam were priceless in this volume! XD

He's not Alan, just another person from 'outside Paradigm city'.

Also, I finally got both volumes of Lost Memory. It's a nice little addition to the Big O manga. I wish their could've been more. Also, I wonder if Roger gave Pero a way. The manga ends with Pero sleeping with Roger, and of course he's no where in volume 6. Maybe Louise and Robert are owners (Roger has a flashback of them in the manga). So maybe he talked to them, and unlike the anime maybe Dorothy got to keep Pero for a bit, and then Roger gave him back to them later.

I hoped that made sense.. >.>;;

***You know, it might be helpful to write to the company that has the publication rights and tell them 1)you really enjoyed the TBO manga they've released so far, and 2)you hope they will continue with the remainder of the series. The company is VIZ.

As usual, if you decide to write, keep it short and polite. Postcards (for obvious reasons) would prolly be best.

Their snailmail addy is:
