I've been waiting for this movie. My husband told me about it a couple of months ago. It is a two parter.

I'm really looking forward to this movie since Tarantino is one of my favourite directors and there is an Anime scene in the movie (I don't know whether it's in Vol. 1 or 2) which is made by the "Ghost in the Shell" team.

It looks good. I'll prob see it.

I really, really want to see this. Tarantino is the man, "From Dusk Till Dawn" kicked so much ass!

This one looks like it'll be both ridiculously violent AND funny. Can't beat that.

I was reading EW and it said they use over 100 gallons of fake chinese blood in the final 20 min. fight scene. *DROOLS* OH YEAHHHH.........

Shocked

I have GOT to see that movie!
GoGoArlo 10-05-2003 11:11 AM
yea, this movie is gonna rock. My only problem is that they said the original movie was too long so they sliced it into two movies.

I think they lied. Let's see:

Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs
Kill Bill
From Dusk Til Dawn
Four Rooms
Full Tilt Boogie

Last time I counted,he did 6 so far.But even six is a small amount for someone who's been around as long as him.Just goes to show that when this guy makes a movie,he means business. Pleased

I have to see this film.Tarantino is by far my favorite writer/director.I haven't yet seen one of his movies that hasn't:

  • Made it on to my favorites list
  • totally blew me away
  • Was pure genius

So maybe I'll get one of my "female friends" to check it out with me this weekend. Pleased

I really like the movie, I’m definitely gonna watch it when it comes out. And the jump suit that Uma Turman wears reminds me so much of Bruce Lee’s.

I think they mean ones he wrote and directed.

Which would make it..

Reservoir Dogs

Jackie Brown

Pulp Fiction

Thus making this his fourth film. Four Rooms he only wrote one part of I think, from dusk til dawn...no clue. Never heard of full tilt boogie.

Theres talk this is an homage to "Fox Force Five", the pilot mentioned in pulp fiction that Uma Thurman's character starred in (it was about a team of five female assassins who each had a different specialty). No idea if thats the case though. Also, this was going to be one very long film, but it got split into two parts.

Part 1 is supposedly more action oriented, part 2..no clue. The whole "making up scenes on the spot and inserting them at a whim" thing Tarentino had going will either wind up being entertaining, or sucking hardcore (as with many concepts like that, it can go either way). Overall, this movie looks pretty good.

What it reminds me of...is some old bruce lee film, which I cant remember the name of. But he faught his way up a five story building of some type, facing off against an assassin guarding each level. The trailer kind of implies something similar to this (the old looking building, the Japanese schoolgirl on one level, the suit guys with swords on another, etc, etc).

Well..Im optimistic...Pulp Fiction and Resevoir Dogs were both awesome, I hope Tarentino hasnt lost it, or gone too far into some intentionally "experimental" style of directing, or what have you.

it looks cool, but the title sucks ass
SharpDressedMan 10-05-2003 07:18 PM
Yeah it definitely looks pretty good. I loved his other movies but I'm not so sure how well this one will do with me... didn't really get my blood pumping. But who knows... it probbobly was the title for me too!

It looks cool...cant wait to see it...its supposed to be a vengeance movie where a bride is left for dead at her wedding and she goes after the assasins one by one...killing them off...cool stuff, lots of kung fu action and sword fighting...going to be done in two parts...part two comes out on February 20 (thats the date so far...) of next year...original movie was like 4 and half to five hours long...

Taratino has only DIRECTED or written 4 films...he starred in From Dusk til Dawn...and possibly produced it with help from George Clooney...but he didnt direct it...

He's only directed/written these, that I know of:
Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Jackie Brown
Four Rooms

Never heard of Full Tilt Boogie either...

i actually, i heard that the original movie was way too intense and too violent, so they actually had to cut it into two movies in order to get an R rating from the MPAA. And even now, it's a really strong R film because the violence is still extremely graphic and all.

but anyways, this movie looks really cool and great and i've been waiting for it ever since i watched that first trailer which blew me away with all of it's style and cool fight scenes.
i'm pretty sure it's going to be great. Ebert & Roeper already gave it two thumbs way up.

I've never seen any of tarantino's other movies though. would you guys recommend any of his other films?
well, actually i saw one part of pulp fiction but that's it. his films seem to be really weird and kinda on the eccentric side.
barkworm 10-07-2003 04:46 AM
I've never seen Four Rooms but you should definitely watch his other three movies. Especially "Pulp Fiction" is superb!
John 10-07-2003 07:21 AM
I saw a few trailers.... This movie looks really, really, weird...
