yea, this movie is gonna rock. My only problem is that they said the original movie was too long so they sliced it into two movies.

i actually, i heard that the original movie was way too intense and too violent, so they actually had to cut it into two movies in order to get an R rating from the MPAA. And even now, it's a really strong R film because the violence is still extremely graphic and all.

but anyways, this movie looks really cool and great and i've been waiting for it ever since i watched that first trailer which blew me away with all of it's style and cool fight scenes.
i'm pretty sure it's going to be great. Ebert & Roeper already gave it two thumbs way up.

I've never seen any of tarantino's other movies though. would you guys recommend any of his other films?
well, actually i saw one part of pulp fiction but that's it. his films seem to be really weird and kinda on the eccentric side.

Resivoir Dogs: Crazy ass movie, especially the part where Mr. Blonde cuts off the cops ear dancing to some old song. And then like after that you see the cop talking with this big ass hole in the side of his head,i dunno i thought that funny.

(although i also wanted to see him burn the cop but Mr. Orange killed em,oh well)

i sooo need therapy

I SAW IT!! What good moive! Basic story but with great action. Great swordplay and cast. The stunts were perfect. The blood....was....annoying, you'll know what I mean when I see it. 9/10 !!!!!!!! Go see it...

I think they lied. Let's see:

Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs
Kill Bill
From Dusk Til Dawn
Four Rooms
Full Tilt Boogie

Last time I counted,he did 6 so far.But even six is a small amount for someone who's been around as long as him.Just goes to show that when this guy makes a movie,he means business. Pleased

I have to see this film.Tarantino is by far my favorite writer/director.I haven't yet seen one of his movies that hasn't:

  • Made it on to my favorites list
  • totally blew me away
  • Was pure genius

So maybe I'll get one of my "female friends" to check it out with me this weekend. Pleased

I don't think he directed "From dusk til dawn". He wrote the screenplay. And he did direct "Jackie Brown"

I just got home from Kill Bill......and I only have one word:

Perfection.

Everything about the movie was just amazing. Words cannot describe...the anime sequence was BEAUTIFUL, and the live action parts just felt like an extension of the anime, which was masterfully done. The whole movie exuded an aire of 70's Bruce Lee's flicks - which was totally intentional. Someone mentioned Uma's jumpsuit looking like Bruce's...yeah, its SUPPOSED to. Big Grin The fluidity....the camera work....the acting....the music...OMIGOD THE MUSIC! The soundtrack credits are like, 3 minutes long in and of themselves! The soundtrack is definately an item to look into picking up.

I just can't explain how <must leave this space blank as cannot think of a word that fits> this movie is! If you love just movies in general, YOU WILL LOVE THIS MOVIE. Its replaced any and all movies that might have once been my favourites. I plan on seeing it so many times that I'll end up having the subtitles memorized *grins*

Go see it, now. Stop whatever you're doing and go see Kill Bill. I promise you'll love it.

Just seen it. It's very bloody, and at the same time very hilarious. Little touches, the green hornet music, the japanese schoolgirl of death, the anime sequence. The whole thing is way over the top, just like a Tarantino film should be.

When I saw the preview it didnt really want to make me see the movie. But if its half as good as you say it is then I guess I will check it out when I get a chance, plus my roommate really wants to see it. So if it was split into two movies does it end in a cliffhanger?
Almasy 10-11-2003 03:00 PM
I just got home from seeing Kill Bill! I thought it was great!

My only complaint is that during that huge final battle towards the end of the movie, it got SO bloody and gory that it got to the point where it was kind of silly...

Other than that, it was a great movie! I can't wait for Part 2 in February! Smile
John 10-11-2003 03:05 PM
Ack...wish I could see the movie...Stupid age...
Mugiwara Luffy 10-13-2003 12:26 AM
Ahhh! The movie sounds reallly good!

But the previews are so stupid and no one else in my family wants to see it and I'm too young to get a ticket myself.....

sigh...

But I do want to see it.
StevieV019 10-13-2003 11:06 AM
Im going to see it this Wednesday possibly....looks awesome...

On a side note...probably should go to a different thread...but we're onto movies...I saw The Princess Blade over the weekend...good stuff..awesome sword fights...
GoGoArlo 10-13-2003 05:24 PM
OK i just saw it today, it rocked the block. I sure hope they make a sequal to itTongue ...that was a joke.

one thing...
spoiler (highlight to read):
in real life if you get horribly stabbed or dismembered does blood really spray out like at?

EDIT
spoiler (highlight to read):
Uma Thurman has the biggest balls in the world

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!
I saw this on Thursday night...wow...that movie was amazing! It's like a live-action anime, partucularly after the anime sequence. Just....friggin' awesome. Wow. I have to see it again!
Almasy 10-18-2003 10:28 PM
I just got back from seeing Kill Bill for the second time! ^__^
Mega Dominus 10-18-2003 10:48 PM
The Japanese schoolgirl of Death also starred in Battle Royale, one of the sickest ideas for a movie plot ever. Of course, the plot was adapted from a best-selling novel in Japan, which is now currently available in the US translated by Viz.

I've read the book, though, and it rocks!

Whoops, off-topic for a moment there. Yeah, Kill Bill sounds great, and I heard Tarentino basically ripped off every action genre possible to make this "epic" show. Big Grin

BTW, fake blood also RULES!
Knave 10-18-2003 10:49 PM
Kill Bill was the first movie I've ever left halfway through (I even sat through all of "Once Upon a Time in Mexico"). Perhaps I'm not as desensitized to violence as the rest of you, but the thing just continuously disgusted me. The anime scene might have been well done, but I didn't like Akira either, probably for mostly the same reasons. If you're unphased by gore (and lots of it, maybe 4 times more than Total Recall, to serve as a measure) and references to extrordinarily disturbing sex, this movie might be for you. Otherwise, save your wallet a few bucks and your stomach a lot of churning.

I'm not some anti-violence activist (I've had Total Recall on tape since I was 10), but Kill Bill was just way, way, way too much gore for me.

Hmm...gory, eh? Oh well. Pleased Haven't seen it though, so I can't judge on the matter.

BTW, isn't your avatar the insignia of Wirbelwind (sry about the spelling) from Kiddy Grade? I think it is...

You left out Jackie Brown, which is a much a better film than it is genrally accounted. I don;t think he directed From Dusk til Dawn (but i could be mistaken). The last two on your lsit I have never ehard of. Could you expand?

Kill Bill is certianly a very good film, although not as great a Pulp Fiction. The anime sequence I thought disappointing, muddy and poorly paced, far removed from the conventions of the genre. The live action sequences, hwoever (80% of the film) closely follw anime conventions.
