Season 3 Snail Mail Campaign
I would deffinatly like to see less of the bigs in season three. But the episodes should be somewhere between one and two. Have each episode have it's own individual plot that more often than not (read: very infrequently) is concluded by the end of the episode. But also bring up lots of questions during the episodes themselves. So why the main plot of the episod might be resolved it doesn't nessesarily mean everything's as it was before the episode. Like 'Negotiation with the Dead'.

Yeah... I know what your saying. I like the bigs a lot. Dont get me wrong, but I would much rather see a bit more plot developement, and some more of roger being Batmanish. I would also not might some more iwth the love thing going in between Roger, Angel, and i guess a little bit of Dorothy. That would be one kick ass Season 3!

Yes plot is great.... But whats wrong with a good kick-ass megadeus battle? Not just lame, "big o shows up for ten seconds at the end to knock somthing over" , but a good battle as in acts 12,14,24,26.
But I'm opposed to making roger more batmanish. I say the less cheesy batman gadgets, the better.

Thats not really wqhat I meant. I wrote that, but that s not what I meant. I agree, less batrman, and more of the negotiating business instead of super hero. I mean... use Big O when needed, but try and keep it to a minimum

Megadeus battles were effective in those episodes, but they would have had more of an impact if the writers didn't always have to find an excuse to make Big O pop his crystalline head out of the ground.
I love the battles in 24 and 26 especially. Powerful. But there can be too much of a good thing. And honestly, episodes thirteen and 25, which lacked megadeus battles altogether, were a couple of the most well-written episodes of any show in anime history (in my opinion). They need a little bit of both. The Noir-ness need not always be drowned out by the sci-fi.
A 1920's and '30's art deco style in the future? How kick-ass is that? It'd be even better if you could sometimes forget that it was the future at all.

I agree. I hope that if there are more episodes some of the lamer megadei like Beck's and Glinda don't make appearances. I'd rather have more character development and back story development.
I'd like to see some R. Dorothy flashbacks of her father before 'Roger the Negotiatior' and possibly of her own creation.
That would be cool. I'd love to get a better idea of what R. Dorothy's relationship with her father was like.

I think that stories should have some sorta ending to them not this non stop action in season 2 more like season 1 where it is not always leaving you hangin at the end.

I agree, I would really liek to see more of Dorothy's past in season 3, but I would more like to see the past of Angel. I find her rather mysterous, and would like to see more of her past in Season 3. On the main paradigm page. I voted for " A prequal to the Series" on the poll. I would like to see that and a sequal, but I think that a prequal might help some people understand Big O more... or better. A sequal would be great too. I think that it would be just liek more adventures of Roger smith, as he has already expirenced an event that may have had teh same effect as the one forty years ago, so they could show him doing some more sleuth work trying to igured out the Big Venus reset thing. Im my personal opinion, I think a prequal might be good.

Hey, as long as they make a Season 3 I don't really care what it's about as long as they put some thought into it and make it as good as 1+2 were/are.
So anyone heard anything at all about a possible Season 3?

YES! This is what I like best about the series. More of this would really help the atmosphere of the series.

IMPORTANT: The last thirteen or so posts have consisted of people discussing what they would like to see in Season 3. It is important that you all realize that this thread is not a place for you to discuss what you would all like to see in a third season of Big O. This thread is merely a place to discuss sending in letters to Cartoon Network/Adult Swim requesting a Season 3.
If you would like to discuss Season 3 of Big O, you can do so 'til your heart's content in this thread.

What you think is more effective: a letter or a postcard? I got some really beautiful postcards of Arches National Park from my trip to Utah a few years ago so I sent one each to Cartoon Network, for Season 3, and to Viz, for Lost Memory. Maybe, just maybe, someone will keep the nice postcard instead of tossing it into the trash. And then whenever someone walks by and ask if they went to that lovely place, they would say 'no', turn the card over, and be reminded about Big O.
Just hoping...

It's almost certainly more effective to send a postcard; many letters don't get opened at all any more due to anthrax and other biohazard scares. And with a postcard, your message is clearly visible from the moment it's received. They'll know you're writing about TBO immediately.
A card with a city, state, or other local scene also shows CN the geographic diversity of its audience, which can only be a Good Thing.

Hello to everyone out there. I am creating a petition to send Via snail mail to CN to get a season 3 of Big O. I think that CN shouldn't have canceled the show; that is why I am creating this petition. Anyone that wnts to be a part of it just PM me with your real name and I'll put your name on the petition. Thankyou.

Big o was not cancelled. You cancel a sitcom not a anime.
Its just be rotated off the air like all shows. And truthfully it was about time to give big o a rest.
It may come back eventually.
If you wan't to tell CN how much you love big o and that you would love a sesaon 3, then go ahead.

If you really want a season 3 of Big O, sit down and write them now! All it will cost you is a little time and a stamp. The more of us who do this, the more chance they will pay attention.

I find that fan mail is easiest if it's brief and focused. Here's the complete text of a hand-written letter I mailed yesterday:
--------
Dear Cartoon Network:
I want more BIG O! More episodes! More action! More romance! More mystery! Roger and Dorothy kissing!
----------
For those of you who insist on complete sentence and fewer exclamation marks, how about :
--------------
Dear Cartoon Network:
BIG O is my favorite anime. I hope you put it back on the air and add more episodes.
-------------------
Or,
-------------
Dear Cartoon Network:
I just had to write you to tell you how much I enjoy BIG O, and how sad I am that it's no longer being aired. I very much want to see it again, especially if there are new episodes!
--------------
Or (ultra-minimalistic):
--------------------
Dear Cartoon Network:
A new season if BIG O is all I ask.
-------------------------
Frankly, I don't think that anything beyond two or three sentences will do any good. People in the mail room are reading (or at least skimming) fan mail, and are counting the letters about various shows and issues. I have this from a PR guy at Cartoon Network. So, mostly your letter is a vote.
I hand-write my fan mail because it's simpler that way. I just dash it off any old way and stick it in an envelope. This may not be as pretty as it might be, but MY fan letter has already been sent! Has yours?
If you want to write a fan letter that is so compelling that it will be passed around and read by many people at Cartoon Network, go right ahead. It's not easy, but it can be done. But dash off a quickie first, in case you run into writer's block on the mega-letter.
Do it now! Then post a response to this thread saying, "I sent my letter!" and maybe tell us what you said. My minimalist approach doesn't appeal to everybody, and maybe folks will like yours better and be inspired by your example where mine failed.
And thanks again to Zola for starting this thread.

Dear Cartoon Network,
I enjoy Big O, and have watched it since it was running on Sundays on Adult Swim last year. When you think about future programming, remember the many Big O fans who would like to see another 26 episodes! I watch more Adult Swim when Big O is on.
Sincerely,
Karen L. Black
