Well if you hate it so much Jr. why do you still want to talk about it.
If there`s one thing I hate it`s people who suddenly decide they hate something on a forum and then stick around to continually re-iterate how much they hate it.
I would like a movie or short OVA to resolve thigns, but I don`t thinkt aht there is enough to make another full season.

Well Jr., I have to disagree with you. I found episode 26 quite exciting. It was vague enough to demand a third season. However, if you don't agree: cool, that's OK too.
As for the rest of you, let's petition.

Episode 26 brings total finality to the story arc.
Questions are still unanswered, yes, but the unanswered questions are not related to the ending of the story - rather, they relate to the setting and the existence of the setting.
All characters are explained, albeit cryptically.
There is absolutely no continuation to tell, so any third season would be a purposeless and worthless rehash.
I, being a huge fan of the series, would neither watch nor financially support a third season.

Well, how are we sure that everything will be exactly the same next time around. I am sure that some memory fragments and chaos itself may change things a bit. Who know?
Ah hell, it is wishful thinking.

On the contrary, we know it won't be the same.
But the story is complete, and ahead lies a new story - one separate from the scope of the series.

Sounds logical to me. To say the story is complete, well that remains to be seen. Writers have a knack for changing a story, even after they have given the viewer the impression of an ending. However, the quality of those stories are usually not as good as the original, but some are.
Oh well, this is the ramblings of a die-hard fan.

I think there are enough people who want a season three that there's at least a good chance of it being made.
If it's fanservice, the die hards will be happy
If it is really, really good, even the ones who say they don't want it will watch it and everyone will be happy
If it's awful...well, I don't know that it will BE awful. The writers are quite good.
In your mind, you're free to consider whatever episode you like the end.

Just like the ep "Seeing Red" was the last episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" as far as I was concerned, LOL!

Personally, I agree with everyone who's suggesting that we do both a petition type letter with all our names on AND additional letters. I don't see how it'd hurt, at any rate.
I, myself, am going to start on my letter right away! Thanks for the addy, Zola!

I'm gonna send a letter AND a drawing of Big O dancing! They'll pay more attention to it that way. I'd like a season 3...it's still interesting to me.

I'd be more interested in finding out how Paradigm ended up that way. (And maybe who the characters were "before"). I think a season 3 picking up off of Act 26 is not the greatest idea....
YET like Zola said, you can consider the last episode what you want. I was going to make one of the other episodes the last if I didn't like 26 (I thought, I can just *skip* that episode.) Actually I'm quite pleased. Unlike Charmed (if you want another example.) That show (to me) ended when they killed off Pru's high school sweetheart at the end of Season 1. Grr.
Anyway, I want a prequel I think. I really want to know WHY it was set up like that BEFORE!
My word...that episode keeps making sense as time ticks on....
Just ramblings.
I need to get on to that thank you letter. (Gosh, let's see, I have a handful of letters to write to big people/places. Yay.)
Later,

I'd rather see a prequel to the series as an OAV format. Movie format would drag it too long

or better yet, a LIVE ACTION of the Big O....LOL XD

Yeah, that's exactly what I've been saying. I definitely think that we as a community should put together some sort of letter . . . obviously we'll have to discuss and argue and eventually come to some sort of general agreement about what sort of letter we send . . . even if it ends up simply being a thank-you for season 2. A letter from a large, well-established community like this will stand some sort of chance at having an impact . . .
Individual letters are excellent too. No single letter is going to convince anybody to sponsor season 3, but a flood of letters might not be so easy to dismiss . . .

Having participated in a couple of Renew Our Show-type campaigns in the past year, might I suggest that everyone send postcards instead? Anthrax scares and other security concerns frequently mean that sealed letters and packages are discarded before they're opened. Postcards don't carry the same risks, plus the mail handlers at Cartoon Network can tell on sight that you're writing about The Big O.
Perhaps you could even send souvenir cards from your city, state, or country to show the breadth and diversity of the potential audience.

Great Idea with the Postcards, Penny! I think that is what I will do instead! I am also thanking them for season two as well!

I mailed out my letter to Cartoon Network yesterday. I started it off with thanking them for season 2 and telling them how much I enjoyed it. Then I asked about the possibility of a season 3.
I think it's possible that there is more story to be told and the creators of the show just ran out of episodes. Of course only they know, but if they do have more pieces of the puzzle to reveal I know I look forward to it.
I'd love to see a Season 3. I'd also love for it to completely invalidate the last five minutes or so of Season 2, because I hated the way they ended it. Felt almost like a cop-out. Don't get me wrong, the first 25 and a half episodes made this anime rank up there with Lain and Cowboy Bebop for me, but that ending...ugh. (Kind of baffling, considering the last episode for Season 1 felt like the best episode of the entire series, easily.)
For that reason obviously I'd rather see a continuation of the existing plot rather than a prequel...although I WOULD like to get some questions answered about The Event. But I'd rather have them answered in the form of flashbacks or investigation while the story continues on from episode 26, because frankly I've gotten really attached to Roger and Dorothy.
But anyway, I'm rambling. Point is, I feel like a third season would not only be acceptable but practically necessary, because it would be a shame for a series as great as Big O to end on as awful a note as The Show Must Go On.

not too bitter, Eh, Jr.?
seriously, it is because things were not cleared up fully in act 26 that i want a season 3. If things had been resolved in a clear manner ( Big O save the day, Roger gets the girl, ect.) then i think season 3 would be moot. but as it is, I'll be writing to ask for another season, just to find out what some of the imagery means.
