No offense, but it was kind of obvious from the start who it'd basically narrow down to. I called an announcement like that slow since I saw no logical reason it shouldn't have been released immediately. And you just said you could've made it anytime starting yesterday, so... yeah it technically IS slow.

I'm not sure whether or not you've heard of it, but there's this concept called "consideration" that influenced our decision. We didn't want Big Finale to be bombarded by obnoxious people pestering him with how they want him to set up the forums while he was trying to work on them. That's why we decided to wait until the forums were set up before making the announcement. There's your logical reason. Enjoy.

Actually, I'd personally have taken that as an opportunity to hear suggestions. In theory it could have also served as an introductory course to the, er... 'pressures' of a forum of this magnitude. I mean, it seems to me that the suggestions forum would have been filled up to begin with if one considers each person making a suggestion as analogous to a thread that may have been posted in a suggestion forum. Just turn off your beeps and make it pop behind, ahahahaha.

Maybe i'm unique in that I find it interesting to have my viewers watch as the board they visit is expanded. Gives them a sense of childlike wonder to see something like its final form unfold and extend before their very eyes, like a flower blooming.

It's simply a comment since all is done. No need to take it so personally.
Krang 07-25-2007 01:04 AM
My point is, does it really matter? What's done is done. We thought it would be better to give him some time to make some decisions and get things settled before telling everyone that he's the new admin, because, personally, I find it frustrating to get work done when people are pestering me. Obviously you have a different opinion. Must we make such a big deal about everything? This is a fine example of why we want to close the forums.
X Prime 07-25-2007 01:07 AM
Sir, I'd point out that you're the only one making a big deal out of it. I'm simply making an armchair comment, which is something I thought I've been known to do a lot. I even effectively said what you said in the first sentence of your post in the last one of my own post.

I know you're tired, and I apologize if I've caused you stress, but that was not my intention, nor was it my intention to slight you since you are one of the people I respect here for your patience. I was simply commenting about what was done as a spectator.

ADDITION: Well, I have a game to get to and I imagine the forum will be closed by the time I get back. Good luck to you on your future endeavors and I'm sorry for all the trouble I caused you.

If members take advantage of the extra day to spam or argue, I will close them sooner, but otherwise, I just wanted to give some advance notice.

GAH! You're closing my home site on my BIRTHDAY?!! TAT

Awwww....dangit. Well, the opening of the new forums will be my gift. XD;;; lol. Just kidding!

But it's true, Krang-kun. And congradulations to Big Finale. *hands Finale a giant cookie* I mades it myself. Maybe I'll bake a cookie for all of you and post it here as a good bye present.

=D

I love you guys, and I hope to see you in the new forums. All of you. EVEN YOU, KRANG AND SHREDDER, 'cuz we love you guys anyways. Embarrassed Sweatdrop Oops, did I just say that?

Just wanted to say a final good bye to all the people here that mattered. You know who you are.

HOLY CRAP, it's GK! Hope you're doin good, man. Smile

Well it's time to also say my good byes.... but more towards an era of awesomeness and Memories than to the community. (Yup, can't get rid of me that easily! Big Grin )

I remember back in the day when we organized the first PCF Cookouts at Pygmalion's and Zola's... those were some good BBQ's. It was awesome to see so many people getting together just over a simple anime, and have a good time too. I remember the Speakeasy Thread and all the fun Schwarzwald, Manji, Fallen Phoenix, ___, Stewie, re-animate, myself and dozens of other had in there... living digital life to its fuillest, and having Big Butler dump the passed out drunks in the garbage river. Heh, if I remember correctly I even stole Manji's "Don" title for a while Laughing ...ahh, those were the days...

I remember the MFL in its infancy, maturing, and (sadly) it's final days (rather a whole year) of inactivity and hatred. Starting with The Big Omega, Big Omega, Le Bread, Fallen Phoenix, Surtur, and others... the "epic" battle of Big Zenigata and Big Fau resulting in a pure adrenaline rush ending involving everyone and their brother Big Grin God, I miss Omega, Big Fau, and the others. Those were the best times.

Tell ya what else I remember, Megadeus's spoiler clips. I still have 'em all! Those months of seeing Big O II air for the first time (and the resulting havok created by 300 members being on the board at once!) are priceless. Krang and Shredder, I dunno how you did it, but I'm glad you got us through those downtimes. Pleased

I miss the old Big O RPG (and now the Big Oh! RPG + MFL) and reading each week the storyline unfolding with more and more wonder and awe than before. A Clockwork Tomato's "Season 3" fanfic, which I haven't fully read unfortunately. Lady Tesser's "parallel world" fanfiction, which was dynamite! I remember my own cross-over fanfiction: "Act 18 1/3: The Greatest Thief"... which wasn't half bad.

So many experiences, Memories, good times, and horrendous fights. Seeing LupinIII be banned (first S.O.B. to be banned), orchestrating the first, second, and third Forum Awards, a little something K&S might like Wink , participating in the few contests this site has held (I think I still haven't gotten my prize from the last one! Laughing , discussing Act26 the moment after it first aired Drooling , creating my megamixes and music videos.... the list goes on.

Krang and Shredder, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart (and all other sections of it, while I'm at it) for giving us Big O fans a home for the past 4 1/2 years. I wish I could have known you guys more, and also been less of a pain in the butt at times. Tongue It's sad to see something so good become such a burden, especially considering this place was originally supposed to just be a Big O hangout, and nothing really more than that. You two are awesome people. I hope you guys will visit the new place from time to time, if only to say "hi" Smile

I will miss this place, incredibly so. It's just an internet forum, but it's been "home" for many years.

And with that, godspeed Paradigm-City Forums! Thanks for the Memories! For the last time, this is Inspector Zenigata of the ICPO...signing off. Cool

Negotiation Result: We Have Come to Terms

I don't know why, but your post reminded me of the time that myself and Token Girl/Spooky had lunch in Santa Cruz with Babyghia and Madrona and we chatted and gossiped about random things about the forums for hours.

Despite all the BS forum drama that happened around here, there was a lot of good times that happened. It's sad to see it go.
Hollow XXVI 07-25-2007 05:49 AM
This reminds me of when MMO shut down/went to another server/got ruined by poor mod choices.

Infact, Slash acted a hell of a lot like Krang. Both their names are five letters too. Lol.

I used to reminisce about MMO until I realized how retarded I acted on it. Maybe you guys will do the same in a few years.
harshfire 07-25-2007 09:59 AM
So right you are.

I feel a bit sad since this is my birthday and I'm..well, this is my home site. Actually, I know I acted like a retard here just by reading back on my first posts, and I was a total n00b! Good lord, it's funny to read back on my immaturity...as a seventh grader. ha ha. (Actually, I think I just did it again a few posts ago...look at my last post here...Embarrassed Sweatdrop )

I still talk to some of the people here to have stopped going, like Byranx, off and on. God, I remember talking to Byranx, and zhinphou. I remember acting like such an idiot to tell him (zhinphou) because I liked him so bad (that was ridiculous). I remember the crush thread and the Paradigm couples thread. I was on the crush thread so much about zhinphou...and then Snake and I were on the front page of the couples thread.

Those were good times.

I can't say I went to any of the live stuff--like the beach barbecue or any of that stuff...though I can say I've wanted to! There were so many things (like Tony's wedding. Ace of Spades had such a plan to kidnap me...God that was good) that I wanted to go to. And now that I'm actually old enough to do things...like drive myself wherever I want (well, almost), the forums are closing.

I may have acted like a retard, but I know that this is my one place.

I could say a whole crapload more like Evan (I love you, Evan, I'm just kidding. Big Grin ) but I really don't need to.

To Krang and Shredder:

I love you guys for providing such a great place. Things have been great here for me (well, besides that time I was warned...but I was such a n00b then. lol. ) and I really feel like this is my little online family. Thanks for everything, you two.

To everyone else:

Thanks for providing a great family. I love this place and everyone in it. n_n

I hope to see everyone in the new forum!

Much Love and Later days,
harshfire

(maybe I ended up writing as much as Evan. lmao. Okay, another dumbass moment.)
seraphjei 07-25-2007 11:09 AM
It's been a ride everyone. Hope to see most of you guys posting at the new forum.

Adieu.

That was fun... and it was a bit of gossip too. LOL!

Blast from the past.. just wanted to say a quick hi and bye to everyone and to PCF.

It was fun while the fun lasted. Certainly had fun with the tomato theories and the tomato headaches. I had fun meeting some people during the first West Coast BBQ. Met a few more over the years and plan to meet a few more next year. Still talk with a few old/ex-members on a regular basis.

The bad stuff? It's in the past and we should all keep it that way. Funny just from reading this thread, I was reminded about all the drama we use to have.

Well, goodbye everyone!

Red rox too.

I'll never surrender them, no.

Also, congrats to Finale for being named the new admin (Sharpie/I was robbed) and its nice to see members from the golden age of PCF make a last stop (what's up GK!) before we hit our swan song.

I'll miss you lace-curtains!
Peace.

PCF closes.
Bob and George is about to end.

Truly the end times are at hand.
X Prime 07-25-2007 04:01 PM
Bob and George is painfully overrated anyway.

If that's the endtimes, bring on the Horsemen.

...That IS actually a decent point. Plus it hosts Karnak and Metroid Third Derivative.

The comic itself isn't that great though. It's basically a consequence of me demanding more Karnak and MSPaint.

Universal Voyage sucks tremendous ass.
Jonny Axehandle 07-25-2007 04:33 PM
Okay, this is it then, my final post. Surprisingly, I can't think of anything I've left "unsaid". Thank you Krang and Shredder for this awesome place and all the memories. Big O was a huge part of my pre-to-late teen years and so were these forums.

As evan put it, We Have Come to Terms. Farewell.
snakemarcato13 07-25-2007 04:46 PM
This is the place where I set my roots. My presence on the internet started here. It feels like so long ago that that happened, and I'm sad to see my home crumble to the ground and become condemned.

I never made it past lapdog, which sucks, because I wanted to reach the point where that could be customized. I wanted to obtain the four stars and feel special. That was my ultimate goal at PCF. But alas, that won't happen, and now I'm sad. Goodbye Paradigm. I won't say goodbye to any friends I may have made at this site, because I would like to think that they will transfer to the new location, or, if they won't. I might still be in contact with them elsewhere.

I will leave a tab on my firefox open to PCF even after the domes close and the curtain falls on the stage. This place is important to me. I will surf it, if I can, to read the archives and reminisce in the fun times I've had.
