Future of the Forums - Help Wanted

Might as well throw this in: I applied and I think this shouldn't be a popularity contest. I've got a ton of ideas that I don't want to go into now, but if I get the job I'll re-create the MFL as a modification of the forum to prevent god-moding.

One thing I'm sure of, if it's not left to popular vote, it won't be a popularity contest. K & S will pick the best user for the job.

However, since they want to keep everyone out of their hair, I'm wagering it'd be a popular vote so no one can say "U pikked j00r favorit 4 admin!".

And I'm sorry to hear that you won't be registering on the new forums. We need level-headed people like you to help get the new forums off to a good start.

BTW, Shredder and I are currently reviewing applications and will probably decide on a new admin soon. Keep checking back for more information, everyone, and in the meantime, please share your opinions on the new forum software.

I wouldn't be surprised if that happens, but hopefully everyone who applied will be mature enough to accept our decision. If not, well, it will only prove that we made the right choice as far as who not to select.

1.) Why are you interested in an administrator position?
This is really the only job that dosen't require knowledge of microsoft excel

I was an administrator on another forum. The ghost of charlemagne talked to me in a dream I'm pretty sure, and I invented a drink..it's vodka, coffee and lemon juice. I call it a che guevara.

3.) What qualities would you look for in choosing moderators or co-admins?
Exactly like me but weak enough that they could never pull any sort of coup.

4.) What are your opinions about the Big O anime? Anime in general?
It was okay except for the robots. Anime in general is sort of a dying medium I think

5.) What do you plan to do to keep/revive interest in the forums and/or Big O?
Skywriting, spelling out the url on the great wall of china in fire, dubious medical claims about how if you post on here you're immune to cancer.

6.) How would you deal with the following hypothetical situations?

a.) A week has gone by and practically no one has posted on your forums.
Rig an AIM bot like ai to begin posting jibberish that contains the top-searched terms on google to lure people in.

b.) Two people bring their personal grudges to the forums and continually insult and argue with each other in threads.
Force them to fight to the death for the amusement of the administrative team

c.) A group of people begin talking in a thread with personal and off-topic conversations, as if in a chat room.
Find the member that seems the least dedicated to the group, bribe them to begin fermenting disarray among the ranks.

d.) A new member joins, doesn’t feel very welcome, and begins to attack the forum in general, saying things like it “sucks.”
Take them to a remote area and execute them. They have no family, no friends, it'll be like they never existed.

e.) Someone posts a thread unknowingly bashing something you like (such as your favorite show, band, game etc.)
Dress up like I'm from the water company and ask to inspect their pipes. Covertly rig a delivery system for a highly potent, psychoactive drug to their tapwater, then slowly goad them in their delusionary state until they leap out a sixth story plate glass window.

f.) Someone who you've banned from the forums signs up again under a different name.
Round up their family, threaten to start sending them the severed fingers and toes, then eyes, then limbs, then organs, until they go away.

I don't work weekends. I'll need 20 days worth of personal days. And if possible I'd like half my paycheck at the start of the pay period and the other half at the end.

Well it is sad to see this place go, but I guess its for the better. During the peak of its time, I met a few of the best people Ive ever met in my life, and I still talk to them frequently. It may just be a forum, but some of the events that have unfolded as a result of my visits here have changed who I am and my views on life. This was my first forum I ever joined, but ever since I have not been able to relive that same feeling of family in any other online community. Ill go so far as to say that PCF was the reason why I joined the Air Force, the key event in my life that made everything turn upside down inside-out.

This is going to sound a bit corny, but bare with me, I am speaking out of honesty. Krang, Shredder. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for putting time and effort into creating these forums. This place has done so much for me, its pretty unbelievable. God knows what my life wouldve been like if I had never found this place, but I know it wouldnt be anywhere near what it is now.

I'm there with you, my dear. =] I have to say that I'm just about as corny as you are in saying "thank you" so many times to Krang, that I'm sure I've bugged the living day lights out of him. (ha)

I'm so glad to hear that several of you enjoyed PCF. Krang and I really enjoyed this place too when it was active and both of us also have a lot of good memories from here. I'm sure the new forums will provide everyone with more good times and lots of new memories.

Also, a big thank you to everyone who submitted an application for the new forum admin position, but the search is now closed. Krang and I both reviewed all of the applications received and we were very impressed by the quality of a lot of the answers. The decision we made was actually much harder than I'd expected, but we have chosen a new admin in Big Finale. He is already working on the new site and we're very appreciative of his great help and hard work. Thanks again, everyone, and keep posted for more details on the new forums!

That was a surprisingly slow announcement since we've known for the past two hours, yes.

..not really.

Anyways I'm looking forward to old rivals (even though I never had any, it was just a general "the entire board doesn't like me because I have a sense of humor and weeaboos/aliens don't have one" thing going on) and grudges over green rox on a new slab of 1's and 0's.

Thanks for the comments, Patsai, harshfire, and Delirious, we appreciate them. Just wanted to let you all know that our plan is to close the forums about one day from now (Wednesday at 11:59PM CDT). If members take advantage of the extra day to spam or argue, I will close them sooner, but otherwise, I just wanted to give some advance notice.

Up until Shredder's announcement, it wasn't supposed to be public knowledge who the new admin was (which was chosen yesterday, BTW). No offense, but it was kind of obvious from the start who it'd basically narrow down to. I called an announcement like that slow since I saw no logical reason it shouldn't have been released immediately. And you just said you could've made it anytime starting yesterday, so... yeah it technically IS slow.

I'm not sure whether or not you've heard of it, but there's this concept called "consideration" that influenced our decision. We didn't want Big Finale to be bombarded by obnoxious people pestering him with how they want him to set up the forums while he was trying to work on them. That's why we decided to wait until the forums were set up before making the announcement. There's your logical reason. Enjoy.
