Symphony X

I just recently purchased their fifth CD, "The Mythology Suite," and I can't get enough of it. They're no Dream Theater, but they're damn close. My favorite song of the bunch is probably "Egypt," which is slightly more subtle, but also a bit better than anything else I've heard by them.

Basically, they combine classical-ish music with hardcore, head-banging metal. Think Trans-Siberian Orchestra with an edge, though they're really Power Metal. Anyone else heard of them?

Great band. Love the genre. Mixing in classical elements with metal gives a distinct edge and sound, It's fresh one could say.
