Probably the latter of the two.

Or he said that he bought the manison after he left the military police force. So maybe it could actually be that he inherited the money from his parents and he became even more wealthy due to his profession.

Something along those lines I suppose.
Peace.

I'm pretty sure, that he got the money from his parents. Although that's one of the many things they could have explored in season 2 I suppose.

He mentions it in Act 14. Some thing about him being brought up in an orphanage and adopted into a wealthy family.

And it's not big of a reach to say that Norman might've had a bit of money. He did have to upkeep Big O/do other things for the 40 years he stayed there.

Ding ding.

He kind of just mentions in passing but he was adopted by a rich family and thats probably where his $ comes from. (Although his negotiating services probably don't come that cheap.)

He joined the police force out of a sense of justice not becuase he needed the work.

Didn't he get a check for like 20 bucks in one episode?

In negotiation with the dead he gets paid 20,000 for his services... The total series of Big O takes place over 6 monthes. Multiply 20,000+ by 6 monthes of work where most jobs take a day to a week... It's a lot of money...

Didn't Norman say he was maintaining the mansion until Roger came? The mansion may have legally been Norman's the whole time. And remember, his mansion is outside of the domes, and those buildings may be abandoned or cheap as hell.

In one episode Ithink that its Roger the Wanderer he said that he was an orphan, adopted into an affluent family.
