why is there some much red in "big-o"?
think about the much use of red:
1.r.d. (red destiny)
2.Bid Duo
3.balloon
4.tomatoes
5.inside the cockpit of big o
6.cover of the novel "metropolis"
7.the inside of the Griffin (roger's car)
why? a theme throughout the series?

Red is a color that was born to stand out. It ties in the whole monochrome/sepia palaete of Paradigm. And the color itself has many ties to emotion and symbolism. Love, anger, righteousness, warning, crests of families... The color red has a surpluss of purposes.
At least, that's how I see it.
And you forgot Alan Gabriel's impossibly red lips, though I don't think that really counts.

Motif, more than a theme. Half of the things you listed are Union things, the other half are black+red look good, and the other one is Tomatoes, which is its own thing.

The Union things are red because they themselves are tomatoes.
The red on Big O could represent Roger's feeling of being something else (being a tomatoe, robot, etc.). And it isn't until Big Fau fights him that all the red on Big O is gone.
