if you have watched the episode "the third big" there is a line where alan actually shows that he is not a android.

when he says to dorothy "i'm the boogeyman..." he spoke the word "i'm", as a regular android would not. thus he is a cyborg.

I thought that he'd made that clear in quite a few episodes, Schwarzald even calls him out on it.

my apologies for not being accurate for my grammer.

this whole idea came from "Star Trek: the next generation" when the dorothy-type android daughter of Data, Lal, spoke a contraction. in her mannerism of speaking a contraction made guinan and data excited.
