Yes, NVWC2006, that would probably sum up my family's opinion, too, except they give me a reasonably free reign so they probably wouldn't care so long as I found a feasible means of transportation.

Nonetheless, I'll probably be holed up in the city anyway: lots of things to do this summer, so little time to do them in. Perhaps if I wasn't going off to college this Fall, things would be different, but there's a lot of stuff I'd like to get done (musicals to see, people to visit, belongings to gather and pack) this summer. So maybe next year, for me.

my parents take enough convincing to let my syblings drive an hour away in modern vehicles. feasible means of transportation is probably a Space Shuttle or Air Force One.

You guys ALL need to learn how to cook! It's not THAT hard. Fine, fine... You guys provide soda, chips and dip. Why does it seem that the majority of males I know can't cook? (And yes, the majority of females I know CAN).

I agree; I desperately need to learn how to cook. It hasn't been lack of desire, my dear, of that I can sure you: the desire has always been wonting. It is the opportunity that has been lacking.

And I question those I know who do cook and bake frequently enough that I'm starting to learn the principles and philosophies of cooking, at any rate. I will learn how to cook by the time the summer is up. Maybe. Hopefully. With some luck.

My friend is a licensed pilot; if you found a plane, kidnapped Bush, and forced him on board, you could probably convince him to fly it for you. And that's just as good as Air Force One, ne?

Hmmm... true. I don't understand lack of opportunity. I was basically forced to start learning how to cook at 11... due to the fact that if I didn't, no one would be home to do so. I wanted dinner, I cooked. NOT having to cook when cooking needs to be done is a new experience for me. *laughs a bit* I'm REALLY not used to not having to cook when there's a kitchen... I'm glad you want to, I know of people who don't even want to.

Well, the last four years especially, I would get home from school just in time to eat dinner: so not really a lot of chance to learn how to cook. I'm just never around when dinner is being made; and on nights when I would be around, I would have something (say, homework) to do.

I mean, I would observe in the kitchen when I was younger, but not enough to actually learn anything of value (or at least, recall anything of value).

Nope, Air Force One is the designation for an Air Force plane carrying the president. When he was on that fighter jet a while back, the designation was Navy One. When he's on a civilian flight, the designation would be Executive One. Hurrah, Wikipedia.

And I know how to cook. Women love it if you cook for them. All guys should know how to cook if for no other reason.

Ah... I was the ONLY one home. My dad would go off to watch my brother PRACTICE at gymnastics for half an hour *rolleyes* and I got left with ingredients after about... 3 lessons, kinda, and told to make dinner. And I did. I did it well, especially since I'm all but self-taught. I had to cook dinner, and do my homework, and deal with personal issues, and do laundry, and set the table, and clean sometimes. As of now, at 19, I could run a household of three if that was my sole responsibility.

And yes, Venome knows how to cook, though his idea to cook for the women once, fell through when Darkfire, who claimed to know how to cook, didn't. It was me, Venome, Darkfire, and... who else was there?

But, anyway... I was watching the kitchen after being told to sit down, the guys would take care of it... well, there was too much going on at once for Venome to handle it by himself, well... I suppose he could have, but it would have been hard, and... Well, I was scared Darkfire would ruin the food, so I took over anyway.

Guys, learn how to STIR different kinds of things properly at least, please?

Darn! It looks as if I'm out of the picture for the Cookout, unless there's a gathering near Orlando. Someone have a burger on me. If you're old enough to drink, pop a brew for me as well.
