The Breakfast Club
The last scene where John walks across the football field was filmed at my high school!

That's awesome....
Ponite Break: I'm not sure they could have gotten a worst cast for the time but it's still a good movie.

The only film I can ever recall snoozing through was Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace.

I maintain this movie is infinitely better after seeing ROTS, and simultaneously playing BFII and not really paying attention to the stupid parts.
... a lot of conditions, yes, but it works, believe me, I came away from it with a vastly improved opinion of the film.

Apocalypse Now (1979) starring Martin Sheen, Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall
The use of lighting and shadow in this film is the best I've seen since Double Indemnity and The Third Man. And lol, Robert Duvall as a surfing general. Awesome.
Peace.

Crasshern (2004) Dunno the cast or director.
A Japanese action movie based upon the 1973 anime Android Crasshern. The movie is filled with intense, high octane fighting, epic CG battles, and a killer J-Metal soundtrack. Plus the fact that the actors are actually pretty good, and whoever designed the set and backgrounds did phenomenally.
War.

(Did you watch the redux version or the original cut. I only have redux on dvd and the previously cut scenes do change the pacing/somewhat the tone of the film but I still think that version works equally as well)

If I say this beach is safe for surfing, then this beach is safe for surfing!
I watched the original cut from 1979, not Redux. Is Redux better and longer than the original by any chance?
Peace.

Redux is longer, theres added scenes (at one point they find playboy bunnies being prepared for a USO show and hang around with them while getting the boat refueled by the unit escorting them, then another scene where they come across this french plantation populated by people who didn't pull out when the french occupation of vietnam ended...and I think some other stuffs extended, it's been a while since I've seen it, was the bridge scene in the original also? That may be slightly extended/different in redux. I forget). People argue if its better though since alot of the included scenes sort of humanize the Willard character (the one martin sheen plays).
I think they're both fine versions of the film and I figure if you hate the added stuff on the redux dvd you can just fast forward. It just happens that thats the version I wound up owning.
edit: Also the part with Duvall's character is slightly different I'm pretty sure

We were going to watch some Ben Affleck movie, but my DVD player doesn't like burned disks, so we watched MiB.
Still a quality movie, with 90's jokes that take a bit to remember why they're funny.
