Would it be possible to make a wiki for all the theories of Big O?
If you make pages somehow with this, It shouldnt be that hard. . .

I once had the idea of making a Big-O wikipedia but I soon forgot about it, it would be a great idea to make one.

But - there is a Big O on wikipedia! Pretty low-grade though if you ask me - probably needs some work.
So someone go and fix it.
I don't think there really is enough to give Big O a wiki of its own...just make, say, "list of current Big O theories" on the main wiki and have that link to the theories that are running around.

I'd be willing to host a Big O wiki.

The idea was brought up here
in the past, although it was put on hold since there wasn't much interest at the time. If there is some interest now, I would be willing to revive the project. First of all, would it be better to store just a list of the PCF threads that contain the theories, or should we keep track of the full text of the theories themselves? This will help me narrow down the choices for wiki software.

I think that the full text of the theories should be included, and people should have the ability to make new theories and post them on the wiki.

Sounds good to me. I have some wiki software picked out and am testing it on another server. Once I have the configuration worked out, I will install it here on Paradigm and post the link (although it won't become an official part of the site until it has a good amount of information filled in). BTW, the wiki will most likely be editable by forum members only to help prevent spam and vandalism.

I know my host is MEDIAWIKI capable. I just don't know how use PHP that well. I've been tinkering around with it and haven't gotten too far. If you're interested in saving space, Krang, I'd be willing to host it for you.

I appreciate the offer, but I found wiki software that's easy to maintain, and I'm already almost done with customizing it. Also, the wiki would need to be hosted on this server in order to restrict editing to forum users (for the reasons I mentioned above). Thanks again, though.
