Are you positive?I knew about Chapel The Evergreen's CP,but Nick has 2 Cross Punishers. At least I'm fairly certain. In fact,I have a picture.Look at the one in the top right(it's the gun storage one). And the one on the bottom is the machine gun/missile launcher one.Check it out:
Manji 07-19-2003 12:36 AM
Yeah, alright, I guess that makes sense, but I still wonder where Nick picked it up...
opsnafu 07-20-2003 08:47 PM
I own it. I liked it more than Cowboy Bebop, but I think it was a little wierd. WHEN HE SHOT KNIVES AT THE END IN EACH ARMS AND EACH LEGS, that was a wierd finish.
Manji 07-21-2003 02:27 AM
Ya, I was expecting a kill shot too...
John 07-21-2003 06:37 AM
Better than Bebop?! I'm sorry, I like that show, but it will never come close to Bebop.
Manji 07-21-2003 02:21 PM
I must agree, but I still believe Trigun was a great show! Big Grin

*Hey, my 250th post yay!*

Vash and Knives are like human plants. I don't know how exactly it works, but they barely age. Vash is supposed to be something like 124 years old.

I never watched it on Adult Swim cause I have all the DVDs. I have always wondered if they're gonna do a trigun movie or something.
Manji 07-21-2003 04:52 PM
Read the first posts, they'll help explain spike.
*I want to buy the DVD's, there cheap on eBay, but I never get around to it.*

Okay yeah I know this is an old thread but I found this place through this thread through google so.. that and I'm a total anime freak and there isn't much about animes I've seen or mangas I've read that I don't know...(i'm obessive.. it comes with the territory of not having a life)

OKAY!

First off-
Plants

Plants meaning that they are like the power plants that were on the Project Seeds ships.

Second-
Two Punishers

Yes! There are two punishers. The First one has the hand guns on the horizontal cross and the second has a handhold and the bazooka. He Actually has both in the anime but the difference is never pointed out. (Like Blue Crow said ^.^")

Third-
Trigun and Trigun Maxium

Trigun was originally released with one comic company but when Nightow-sama wanted to switch to another company, he was informed that he would have to modify the name. So he did. No real reason other than that.

Fourth-
Trigun Maxium and the Anime

Maxium is where everything wraps together. The Gung Ho Guns are here. Also, Chaplin (Wolfwood's teacher) isn't a Gung Ho Gun, Wolfwood is (its hinted in the anime) and he really is out to ensure Vash is delievered to Knives. There are several stories from Maxium that were left out. Trigun the anime was planned in one night at a restuarant - what do ya expect?!

Fifth -
Vash and Knives ages

It was what some 124 years since July right? So we can't really say what their ages are since we don't know how old they are at July City. I would say something near 200, personally.

Sixth-
Why didn't Vash kill Knives?

I've heard (I haven't got that particular volume yet but I will as soon as DHM releases it) that Vash does kill Knives in the manga. Not exactly sure there. Don't hold me to it.

Also, I've heard (albit this is just gossip) that when Nightow-sama was planning Trigun with the excutives that long night that he wanted the anime to end on a happy note.

Seventh-
Not Sure How I Missed It - Where Wolfwood got Punisher #2

Not sure in the anime, but, if memory serves, he recieved it from Chaplin in the manga.

Eighth-
The Guns of Trigun

There is a website with that section, look for it on google. It has a link to the bluerprints for a lot of the guns (or it did a couple of years ago.. haven't really been there since). One blueprint shows how to build punisher 2 5mm at a time.. the gun is total of 100mm so that could take a while.

Nineth-
Random Fact: Rescue Ships From Earth

At the end of the manga, rescue ships from Earth do come and get everyone from the planet thus saving the population. I think thats the reason the Vash killed Knives. He knew that Knives would kill them all with that given chance on the way home.

Tenth-
Sorry Again For Bringing Up An Old Topic

But like I said, I have no life and thus can supply any confused or anime fan with a life with the facts that I have accumilated. *sigh*

If you have any questions, comments, or flames feel free to email me or message me or.. yeah you get the picture.

Trigun is awsome! It's my second favorite anime. Big-O being my first favorite of course.

I was about to make another Trigun thread but I guess I won't have to anymore.

Hey, rowen, thanks for the info.

Trigun the anime is one of my top 5 fav's.

I've been reading the manga and have read up to the fourth volume of the Maximum series. Is there just one left now?

The manga is interesting and provides some more info on the story (albeit slightly different than the anime). All things being equal, I like the anime better because it's easier to follow and the pace of the episodes is excellent - going from funny to more serious - and especially the build up to Meryl finally realizing who Vash is in the showdown in "Hard Puncher" (the first time we see Vash actually shoot his revolver, isn't it?).
Sharpshooter005 05-21-2005 02:46 AM
I never understood the "two cross punishers" thing. Frankly they all seemed to fit into one (pistol rack-one arm, ammunition for machinegun-other arm, Machinegun-base, Rocket Launcher-top portion). With the central portion serving as a trigger for both the rocket launcher and machinegun, covered with something when its first shown holding the pistols.

Yes, I have looked that hard at the episodes it was used in to see if this fits together, I'm pretty sure it does.

Also I must have totally, totally missed the point of the ending. I took it to mean Knives does die, and that last line by Vash about remembering what Rem believed, but finding his own way meant that he'd retain the general pacifism, but wouldn't allow another calamity like Knives to occur by refusing to stop it when he had the chance.

edit: Also this show gets credit for using a woefully ignored premise. Heavily armed insurance claims inspectors (or adjusters...The line between the two gets blurry as hell sometimes, I think adjuster is more of a desk job)

Well, in a society where you got random outlaws with guns roaming the streets, everyone probably carries a gun, especially traveling folk. i mean, in Iraq, it's practically a custom to own a gun. so guns are probably a big market there.

Schoolie, any time. Seriously, I HAVE NO LIFE. I will search and buy and read until I find my answer. ^.^ Yes I am a loser and Yes I am pathetic.

Sharpshooter005, there are two punishers.. Nightow-sama himself said so in an interview when he spoke of the creation of Trigun. He talked about how since Trigun's planning was done in one night at a resturant, a lot of the main weapons, especially Nick's Punisher's, when changed, weren't really noticed. If you don't believe me or anyone else here, go look it up. And if you don't believe that, buy the manga.

There are at least 6 volumes, but I think there are more. We'll just have to see.

oh and on an added note, i was reading Trigun Maxium Volume 5 and Wolfwood is the Gung Ho Gun Chapel.

Pg. 64
Midvalley The Horn Freak: Chapel... I'm on to you. Your eyes... They're the eyes a traitor.
Wolfwood: PFFT!! You mean Blade and ninelives?!
Midvalley: That's not it at all, it is... ... Chapel?
