I think in the manga it said that Chad was born in Japan, moved to Mexico with his grandfather, and moved back to Japan when his grandfather died so yeah.

I didn't pay attention to most of it but I'm liking how they are bringing Chad's character better and better. And the ghosts thing (for example, with Tatsuke) is getting really campy. And next we get to see Orihime's part in all this. Cool, and I wonder who that "handsome hero" that she was talking about in the previews was.
Scourge 11-26-2006 01:14 AM
Chad is 100% Mexican, he was indeed born in Japan but both his parents were Mexican. How and why his name is Sado "Chad" Yasutora is beyond me and the fact that he is 15 and well over 6 ft (197 cm, 6' 5") is hilarious. Apparently he is the Yao Ming of Mexicans.
Ano Hito 12-03-2006 12:11 AM
He's a Mexican, not a Mexican't! Har har har!
Kind of boring episode. I find myself liking Kon, despite the lack of screentime, better than any of the other characters.

After watching this ep I realize Isshin is a damn good actor considering who he really is.

What, yet another possible lesbian seems to be after Orihime? What is it with this girl anyway? I should have guessed that my least favorite character on the show would end up with the lamest powers as well. Even Chad's 'arm' isn't as gay as that was.

Anyway, good episode. Sounds like something big is in store next week. I can't wait to see what it is.

Well the girl is hot, not like she can choose who likes her. Later on though you find out she has absolutely no interest in the same sex. (though you kinda guess that)

Also she isn't a fighter, she is more like a team medic, a damn good one.
Valdoom 12-03-2006 08:11 PM
before she got her powers I knew she would be the "healer".

She's the main defense/healer....everyone else just fights. She and the 4th division seem to be the only non-normal human medical help in the whole series. Though her powers make her a target for

Am I the only one who noticed the voice actor for the Hollow in that episode is the same guy who did Naota from FLCL? Neutral

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of Frieza when I heard it. Probably the same person though.

I guess so... It's wierd how I'm hearing all these voice actors from different animes. Any bets on other voice actors we might end up hearing?

You do realize VAs just don't work one show then retire, right?

Pointing out every VA you recognize is like making a point to make note of an actual actor every time you see him a movie.

Fan 1: "Hey look, it's Steve Buscemi!"

Fan 2: "Ok...?"

somehow that one hollow in the episode abut the talking bird-boy soul reminded me of barry the butcher. just the mannerisms of his speaking just remind me of him.

Another good episode in my opinion. I enjoyed the chemistry between Ichigo and Uuryu. It’s been done before but it was still good. I really didn’t get what that store owner had planned but maybe they reveal that later or something.

The new ending theme wasn’t bad either. Next episode looks a little fillerish though…
Chitter-Box-Kat 12-09-2006 11:55 PM
"Menos Grande" means Minus Big or Big Minus. I felt a throwback to my days of Yu-Gi-Oh. That little girl with the pigtails kicks ass. The first end theme was better.

I can't wait 'till "Mr." Yoruchi shows up. Everything starts getting real cool after that.

Eh...it kind of is, but you can say the other half has some major foreshadowing on Rukia's part.
Valdoom 12-10-2006 03:38 PM
nothing new to anime, but good... The enemy becomes a friend and saves the main character... O yes, and the main character did something amazing that no one else could do! How original!

Yeah, Hat and Clogs (that's what I call him, I don't really know his real name) has something planned on later for Brad, Orihime, and Ichigo down the line. And I noticed that the show has way too much talking going on when there shouldn't be. I guess its for explaining all the details, rules, and etc about the Soul Society and how everything works but still, way too much talking.

Also, that new ending theme was straight from Eureka 7. But I do like how it details Ichigo and Rukia's relationship in a not too obvious way and the animation looked damn good as well. And as far as the next episode goes, I know it looked like idiotic with Kon and all but going by what was shown about Rukia, it actually looked like an essential part of the series. And there's also what Green_Bird said as well.
spoiler (highlight to read):
It looks like this is where Renji and his captain from the Soul Society came to our world to take Rukia back. Ichigo comes to her aid but she ends up going with them anyway, betraying Ichigo in the process (it's not exactly how it sounds... but she did it to save his life against Renji). I think its a tad bit too early in the series for this but just by going from the previews that's the feeling I got what the next episode is going to be about.

I was actually going to knock you on how annoying this comment was, but in the relation of Bleach, then yeah this happens a lot. And more of it is coming on the way.

I agree with the Kitty (that's funny in more ways than one). This is one of my favorite characters in Bleach.
Peace.

Gotta nitpick on this one but it is the other way around Eureka 7 has endings that are similar to Bleach not the other way around. Also for the most part, those two are friends.
spoiler (highlight to read):
C'mon she just sorta ditched Ichigo after he saved her and only came back to help later on.

All the episodes feel like filler until the SS arc begins, right now everything is superfluous. The big names have been introduced and their powers shown off so there is nothing meaningful left to cover.

Um, my and your opinions alone I guess. I just felt like the new episode was straight from Eureka Seven and I never got the same feeling the other way around. Also even though I've read the manga and know what's basically up, I haven't seen all the themes of Bleach to make a distinct obversation between the two. Also, I know Ichigo and Rukia are friends... friends with benefits! Nah I'm kidding but they do have a connection that seems to go possibly deeper than friendship.

Yeah, I'm waiting for the Soul Society Arc myself as well.
