Unoffical Bleach discussion

Tonight was another fun episode. We finally get to see what that animal looking thing was. (Well, at least I did since I know nothing about Bleach other than what I am watching now.) Poor Ichigo now has two bossy roommates instead of just one. I can see it will be even more amusing now that all their personalities clash instead of one.

Now I am just making a silly guess here... Is that shifty looking kid with the glasses the one that killed Ichigo's mother?

spoiler (highlight to read):
Not at all. He's a Quincy, a group of hunters that killed Hollows rather than purify them like the Soul Society does. Soul reapers and quincies are intense rivals and the kid with the glasses (his name escapes me at the moment) and Ichigo get into a couple of duels as well.

Yeah, I liked the episode too and Kon is much more amusing then I originally thought the anime would make him. The skirt scene was funny and I don't remember that one guy at the end so maybe he's a new challenger. Be interesting to see what his job is and how Ichigo and Rukia deal with it.
Peace.
Raven 10-22-2006 12:51 AM
Yeah, the skirt scene was somewhat funny and I forgot to mention it when I first posted. I also laughed when Kon started talking about going on the picnic and Rukia slammed the closet door in his face.

I am interested to see what happened to his mother. That flashback didn't really show a whole lot.

I'm droppin' spoilers so yeah. The whole read at you own risk and all that.

spoiler (highlight to read):
Back in the day, Ichigo was able to see ghosts when he was a kid but didn't really comphrend what he was able to see though. Now if I remember the manga right, Ichigo was coming back from karate class and his mother picked him up. They were walking in the rain and Ichigo was thinking to himself that the reason why he was taking karate was that he could protect people, especially his family and even more so for his mother. Anyway, when they were walking in the rain, Ichigo sees a girl in trouble near the egde of that river. Ichigo tells his mother that his going to help herand he'll be right back but his mama has no idea what the hell he's talking about. Ichigo runs over to the girl and tries to pull her back from the dge and realizes something wrong. But then, Ichigo's mother jumps down and tries to save him from going over the edge himself but she ends up getting killed. Other than knowing that his mother is dead and he feels ut was his fault, Ichigo has no idea what just happened. Basically, the girl that Ichigo saw was a ghost puppet portrayed by a Hollow. Ichigo, not knowing how to deal with his powers at the time, saw the girl thinking she was real and went to save her but his mother wasn't able to see the girl and went to save Ichigo. When the mother interfered and saved Ichigo, apparently the Hollow killed Ichigo's mother. The Hollow is very powerful and is wanted by the Soul Society for killing numerous other reapers.

That's basically it for the most part. I'm intersted to see what that guy from the Soul Society is going to do in the next episode.
Peace.

Kon was both funny and annoying, they got him down just right in the dub.

I wonder though, how are they going to show the Funneral Anniversiry ep, I have the original OVA and it is like 45 minutes long. Are they gonna make it into a two parter, was there already a two parter made for the series?
minespatch 10-23-2006 07:06 PM
kon is my favorite character the same way that barry the butcher(fma) is. somehow i wonder if that kon is a paralel universe version of number 66(fma).
Scourge 10-23-2006 07:25 PM
Kon is only good for a few gags in the anime but you rarely see him in the manga, only when he is standing in for Ichigo.

There was two versions of it. The first OVA and the episodes made for the series with the whats-his-face-soul-reaper-dude from the end of the last episode. There's no plans for the memories in the rain OVA to be released here.

As for the last episode, the voices were okay...but why bother taking out the "Nice view!" line and changing it to something else? I mean that seemed to be a rather stupid dub move...

Haha Ichigo got owned there. That was actually a pretty good episode too. We got to learn more about Ichigo's past through than tomboy, and we learned a bit about Rukia as well. I wonder how that Soul Reaper will deal with what happened between Rukia and Ichigo now.

Plus we also got to see their relationship strengthen. It was funny how angry Rukia got when the Soul Reaper implied that she was in love with Ichigo. Though you could see later that they definitely had a bond when she told him he could tell her about his mother when he was ready.
Scourge 10-29-2006 12:05 AM
Meh, I prefer the OVA over the eps, that filler shinigami is lame.

Though this really makes me wonder,

Where the hell was Ichigo's dad, I mean he is super captain level, you'd think he'd feel that hollow.

Owned? When he was fighting that soul reaper? I wouldn't say that but the guy was obviously better that Ichigo was.

Yeah, I'm glad I got that down too and the back info on Rukia was good too. Also, as far as what the Soul Society does, it's pretty interesting when they come into the fray.

I really liked that part and we got to see a more inimate side of Rukia because of Ichigo being mentioned by that guy. I also liked how the guy was dropping lines like "dressed like a high schooler" and "finally grown into a woman". She so likes him.

Also speaking about Ichigo and girls who have the hots for him, I found it weird that Orihime and Tatsuki (the tomboy) just decided to get together for the sole purpose of talking about him.

There was some definite ownage there. The guy was even had time to trash talk and he looked as if he wasn't even breaking a sweat.

It's not a one-way street either. Ichigo broke out of his emo moping and hauled ass the minute he heard she was in trouble. Big Grin

Well it's good to hear Tatsuki likes him. I was starting to get some serious lesbian vibes from her. Though I am already sick of Orihime and her 'so innocent that she comes off as an idiot' act.

Well, as far as his sword technique goes and all that with his soul reaper abilites, Ichigo kind of fights like Inuyasha does. Using all strength with your sword and no finesse. But I'm still interested to see what that soul reaper is up to since he's not in the manga. Talk about a curveball.

Lesbian vibes, that's hilarious. Although that can't be denied for that other girl in the glasses in their class with the huge crush on Orihime. I don't know if its a crush thing with Tatsuki such as Orihime and Rukia have with Ichigo. More like a serious friendship thing.

And I agree what you're saying about Orihime as she seems like an airhead.

I don't want to say he was having an "emo moment" there. I mean, he feels responible for causing his mother's death.
Peace.

That's why I love seeing Sesshomaru own Inuyasha each and every time. At least ichigo's sword isn't way overpowered at this point in time.

Well, it comes from how she is always hovering around Orihime and is so over protective of her. I wasn't looking at her tomboy side when I said that. Can she still beat up Ichigo these days though? Big Grin

Bah, when isn't Ichigo acting emoish? Tongue

spoiler (highlight to read):
Actually, only in the manga does Ichigo's dad have Shinigami powers as the anime is still in its filler arc. His dad eventually kills the hollow that killed Ichigo's mom and he always knew about Ichigo's doings since he became a shinigami, he just never says anything about it. The only people that know Isshin was a Shinigami are Kon, Kisuke, Ishida's dad, and more than likely Yoruichi.

Also about that whole Tatsuki being a lesbian thing, she is just really protective of Orihime.

spoiler (highlight to read):
She beat the crap out of Ichigo after Orihime was taken to Hueco Mundo.

Also Orihime is not an idiot and one might even say that she looks dumber in the anime than in the manga.

Hot damn. I'm not that far in the manga yet but that's pretty cool (for some reason, I can't find volumes 9-12 anywhere). Also, who is Isshin again?

Yeah and like the other way around, Orihime is really protective of Tatsuki.

Wait, didn't Ichigo go to Hueco Mundo with Orihime, Brad, and that Quincy? So, how did Tatsuki beat the crap out of him or am I getting this completely wrong here?

Also yeah, in the manga she isn't somethin' so clueless.

Well compared to other anime male characters around his age, he doesn't act all that "emoish" to me at all. Although, he does put up a tough front.

Also, I forgot to mention this and remembered it after I went back to watch the episode again but it was funny in the beginning when Rukia was waiving like she did to Ichigo and when Kurin said that "our boy Ichigo has finally grown into a man". Dropping little hints between the two and their growing relationship and feelings for each other is cool to see and really carries the show at the moment. I like it.
Peace.

spoiler (highlight to read):
Umm Orihime, Ichigo, Chad, and Ishida went to Soul Society to get Rukia back in the Soul Society Arc (obviously) but recently Orihime has been taken captive by Aizen and the Espada and now Ichigo, Chad, and Ishida (eventually Renji and Rukia show up) to get Orihime back. Though before Ichigo left to Hueco Mundo he knew who took her and felt he had to get her back by himself and Tatsuki wanted to know what happened to Orihime and she knew Ichigo knew but he didn't say anything because like I said he wanted to take on the burden himself so Tatsuki started whaling on him because 1. Her BFF was missing. 2. her other BFF was being a lying emo bastard.

Oh you and your complaining about things being overrated. Tongue

Actually even though I think Bleach is much better than Eureka Seven (HOT DAMN!), I have to admit I'm surprised by the the somewhat huge following that Bleach has.
