Simply put not enough people watch anime for AS to dish out the money for licenses left and right. They rather fund their comedy block more because that is what the people watch.
Chitter-Box-Kat 01-08-2007 06:23 PM
Damn. Neutral
spoiler (highlight to read):
And according to my friend, it's like twenty episodes until we see the first glance of Hichi. It's another Inuyasha. Crying
Scourge 01-08-2007 06:29 PM
Who the hell is Hichi? Do you mean Kenpachi Zaraki?

Also did you know America is like the only version of AS with any anime at all? That alone should tell you AS doesn't care about anime and why would they, only a very small basis of people watch anime.
Chitter-Box-Kat 01-08-2007 06:33 PM
Ah. More sleep for me on Saturday. *sigh*
spoiler (highlight to read):
And when I say "Hichi" I mean "Hichigo" or Ichigo's Hollow form. Kenpachi's Kenny.
Scourge 01-08-2007 06:46 PM
Meh ole pale face was a horribly used character it was obvious who was better between the two.

spoiler (highlight to read):
Ichigo only won those times thanks to a cliche anime plot device.
Chitter-Box-Kat 01-13-2007 11:32 PM
Okay. . . With this episode the only redeeming quality I find now is the opening theme. But I guess it'll be nice to watch the training sessions. After a few filler-episode-esque stuff. Curse the way the manga moves faster than the anime.
Scourge 01-14-2007 08:25 AM
Did any one else think that Renji's VA sounded more natural and in character than before?
Chitter-Box-Kat 01-14-2007 08:56 AM
Hmm. . . I guess. A little. Does this mean there's still hope? And on a side note, I broke out vol 7 of the manga and followed along with the episode for a bit. It was interesting to see how the manga and anime flowed differently.

Yes.

If I remember the volume correctly, then yeah it did match up kind of well (although, the first thing I noticed was that in the manga, there is no mentioning of Kaien this early in yet and they mentioned him in this episode).

It was a good episode (I liked how the Captain took care of Ichigo), and I'd like to see the training sessions with Ichigo and Hat and Clogs myself. Finally, the Soul Society arc starts up.

I remember reading that and yeah, that was an interesting notion and an interesting character. And like you said, it was a cliche plot device in that fight. It wasn't bad how it came out in the end, but yeah. Cliche it was.

Nine, you spelt Kaien wrong. Just a little typo.

Thought so. I'm just glad I even remembered the name at all.
Peace.
Scourge 01-14-2007 05:59 PM
I just hope pale-face shows up again, he was like a little Kenny.

(Whoo the filler arc finally ended, Whoo!)
Chitter-Box-Kat 01-14-2007 07:43 PM

And "pale-face" is a bit degrading. At least by calling him "Hichigo" you acknowledge who and what he is. And I never noticed how he's similar to Kenny. . . It's kinda wierd, but it makes sense. . . *sigh* "And the filler arc ends." Kanpai!
Scourge 01-14-2007 09:57 PM
I like pale face better, it gets to the point and doesn't spoil anything.

spoiler (highlight to read):
Both pale-face and Kenny enjoy fighting and they are crazy and irrational in there attacks, they do whatever it takes to win. Kenny is more willing to take a hit to land a hit while pale face has wigged out moves that no one would think of doing. Pale face had techniques that Ichigo never even thought of doing like the sword twirl or the zangetsu move energy attack.

How the hell did Ichigo ever beat that guy, it still pisses me off.
Chitter-Box-Kat 01-15-2007 09:15 AM
spoiler (highlight to read):
Zangetsu gave him a pep talk of sorts while "pale-face" scared him a bit. Nothing like a two-way kick in the ass to get someone going. Tongue It's in vol 13 of the manga.
Scourge 01-15-2007 02:35 PM
Bah, that's crap, anyone that thinks Ichigo could have honestly beat pale face is just lying to themselves, simple as that.
Chitter-Box-Kat 01-21-2007 12:14 AM
On this weeks episode:
Ichigo looks like he was wearing eyeliner.
His eyes looked droopy, reminding me of Sanzo from Saiyuki.
And Yoruichi's "Males." comment was a giveaway.

And the Chain has been broken. Banzai! Smile

Yes it was. I noticed the same thing as well. Watching the little girl in action was cool though.

I can't think of anything else, there wasn't that much going on to comment with the episode (summer break, Ichigo misses Rukia waaan, Orihime and Brad going to train with the cat, what else have you) but it was cool seeing Rukia in her holding cell and that line about her brother. Damn, 40 years is a long time not to look at a girl of your family.

A long time indeed.
Peace.

First of all, Sado's nickname is Chad and secondly it is with good reason Byakuya won't look at Rukia.

spoiler (highlight to read):
Rukia is Byakuya's dead wife's little sister and Rukia looks just like her sister. Needless to say, it is a very saddening situation to even be around Rukia.

I think Kisuke was the high point of this ep, I found him hilarious, everything else was old news though.
Chitter-Box-Kat 01-28-2007 12:41 AM
I love that mask. <3 Big Grin <3

But Zangetsu didn't actually say his name in the Japanese dub. His voice was muffled over.
Is "Zangetsu" supposed to mean something? I know "Benehime" is Red Princess or something.
Raven 01-28-2007 01:45 AM
Man, I never get tired of hearing Richard Epcar.

Anyway, the past few weeks have been pretty decent in my opinion. With each passing episode I am liking Urahara more and more. The tests were pretty cool as well. The test where Ichigo had to beat up that little girl was probably the best. Ichigo also looked really cool with that mask and those white cloths hanging off of him.

"Zangetsu" translates to "moon cutter."
