Eureka SeveN

First off, It was a good episode. Second I love irony, like when Eureka left to find Renton the same moment Renton came back, Perfect timing. Also every so often Renton's compact drive says Eureka. Anyone noticed this? (I hope you have) The point is it happened when they activated that weird efect that disabled all the L.F.O.s. I believe it's happened 5 or 6 times now. If any one knows as to which it is 5 or 6 please let me know.

Speaking of SONGS...

What is the name of the song they played when Renton pulled Eureka out of the air into the Type Zero's cockpit? They've played it before, and it has a very Fooly Cooly/Pillows vibe to it. It was perfect for that scene of reunion.

Just saw the newest episode, I expected extreme violence, and when I got none, boy was I let down something fierce.

Though my opinion of Holland may be on the up and up. He might start acting like a man soon.

I'll give it a 7/10.

I think the extreme violence was the part with Ray blowing up Charles' body. Although I liked Charles, that was pretty damn cool. I liked the whole invasion thing but it would have been cool if more time had been given to it. Yeah, Holland actually didn't act like a bitch in this episode and I like the whole "sleath paint" he had going on.

I thought it was a good episode, and it seems like in the next Ray gets her revenge. Or at least tries to anyway.
Peace.

I loved the last episode, as Holland pwned Charles into next week, not to mention Charles got turned into a pile of hamburger, well what was left of him.

Yeah, that was something else. Wouldn't have though that Ray would go to such lengths to do that.

Also, I like how Ray still loves Renten like a son and how Renten looks towards her in the same light. I really liked Charles too. Nominee in the future?!
Peace.

All I say were some very vague and really graphic gun shots and an off screen explosion which seem to have just blasted some red paint, I mean blood, all over the place.

Right after E7 Samurai Champloo was on and Mugen cut off a dude's arm in a somewhat graphic sense and he viciously broke another character's fingers, yet there was no extra warning for that now was there?
Ano Hito 10-29-2006 01:57 PM
A good episode, but by no means very violent.
By the way, I never saw the end of Champloo because they stopped airing it on Saturdays midway through its run. I always felt kind of cheated about that, since I couldn't stay up late to watch it on weekdays due to needing to be up early in the morning.

Oh just so no one is surprised. Ken-Goh's voice will be done by Kyle Hebert after episode 29+. They had to recast him, as Bob Papenbrook died of lung complications earlier this year.

Sorry about ol' boy dying but who is "Ken-Goh"?

Oh right. Okay, I know who you're talking about now.

Great episode. But, man, can this series get any more eclectic? Suddenly we get to see the military angle of this series at the fore that has been in hiding for a long time--and that includes skyboarding commandos. I agree with Nine when he said the Holland/Charles confrontation was too short. But it was still awesome. Holland going commando was both cool and hillarious!

This series really is unique; Bones' has done it again. Gotta give it credit for that. But that same uniqueness, that brings it all over the board and creates such an interesting world, also weakens its focus some. I think they're bringing the threads together better lately, but they have a long way to go in making the central conflict stand out as impressive.

Sad to hear about Bob Papenbrook. I heard that before, but never put two and two together on who he was. He's done a lot of great work over the years with Gundam F91 (Cosmo), Big-O (Rosco), Last Exile (Duke Mad-thane), and Yukikaze (Major General Linneberg). A really unique, commanding voice that will be missed in anime. Kyle Hebert (Naruto's Kiba, FMA's Vato Falman) is talented, too, but will be a big change, I think.

Indeed it is. Certainly better than the other two new shows Adult Swim picked up. Bones actually impressed me with Eureka Seven. Everything, from the charecters, to the setting and the many many music references are a blast.

I picked up the Eureka Seven Soundtrack #1 a while ago - a nice two-CD collection that includes music mostly from episodes 1-26, I imagine.

Anyway, the song you're talking about is indeed cool. It's track number 2 on disc 1 and it's called "STORYWRITER" (yes, they have it in all caps). It's a neat techno mix with vocals by the same band that does the first opening song, I think.

And Ano Hito - you should definitely check out the final episodes of Samurai Champloo. There are some hilarious ones near the end, and the last three make up the final arc - some amazing battles and cool climax sequences. They finally meet the "samurai that smells of sunflowers," but not in a way you'd think. And Mugen and Jin have their final battle. One of the best endings to an anime I've ever seen.

Tonights episode was one of the best episodes shown so far. Easily a 9/10.
Valdoom 11-05-2006 03:41 PM
great episode!!! Altough I was hoping Ray and Charles would be around longer. They were great characters. (They might make a come back as ghosts or bad dreams like Schwartzwald.) It was a bit sad to watch Ray crawl across 10 feet of floor to get to her wedding ring, which just so happened to still be on her arm...
At first Eureka didn't notice Renton(first episode) then she liked him a little then hated him, kinda(Acperiance 1-Acperiance 2) Now there on the same wave length, but I'd give that 10 min. of the next episode now that Renton has to deal with the death of both Ray and Charles.
Scourge 11-05-2006 03:48 PM
Eureka is gonna drop a bomb on Renton next week... hopefully an explanation as too why she, apparently, did not age since war times.

At first I wasn't sure, but now I'm positive. Eureka 7 is not only the strongest show on the AS lineup at the moment, but it's probably the second best giant fighting robot show I've ever seen. (First being Big O. It's hard to match the perfect marriage of cerebral intrigue and mindless giant fighting robot fun.) It's also one of the best animes that I've seen period.

I assume you mean the strongest action show on AS because ATHF is the biggest thing on AS.

And far as mecha combat goes, there really isn't that much too E7 besides the Trapper waves, nothing I haven't seen dozens of times before in Gundam and Robotech.
