about that... I thought it was more then a little weird... Think about it, If you were invited to live in someone's house for a week and suddenly they demand that you start calling them Mom and Dad. Although I thought it was kinda cute that they had a cup with his name on it made for him already.

What are you talkin' about?
Charles is not Holland's brother.

| That's Dewey, I think that one dude with the long hair who's supposed to be evil or something. |
Um, I seem to be the only one who liked that aspect of the episode.

I was given the impression he had stayed with them longer than that. More like a month or something.

I've stayed in other peoples homes with out my parents for more then a month before, and yet somehow I don't remember calling them Mom and Dad. Renton could have spend a year with Ray and Charles and it wouldn't of made it any less weird.

I still don't think it was weird in anyway.

If Renton was 4-5 yrs old, then calling them mom and pop would be ok.
Renton is like 12, at twelve you pretty much know what's what about your parental figures and who they are.

After tonights episode, it's becoming clear why I like this show so much. Another great episode.

I actually thought this episode sucked, it was lame filler.

I wouldn't call it filler, I though it actually helped move the story along but then again I'm pretty biased towards the show hehe.

That William kid was screwy. Like somethin' real screwy. The whole time I was thinking what his angle was. And his explantion on depression disease cracked me up as I was thinking that the doctors would actually tell you other wise.
What was funny was the description that Holland heard about involving Charles was that he looked like a raccoon. I want to see them interact and William's backstory was kind of interesting.
Go get yo' girl, Renten.
Peace.

Ep. 25: That was a great episode...though, I can't believe those words are coming out of my mouth. By all rights, its utter lack of action/story balance, and almost singular focus on a completely new character who may never return again should have led me to be upset with it. Yet, I really liked it. BONES worked their magic...
I think the reason I liked it so much was because of William. Sure he seemed screwy, but his unshaking positive attitude and grounded nature in a show where everyone goofs around, complains, or feels depressed stood out big time. His whole wartime flashback story and seemingly heartbreaking, yet touching relationship with his wife was simply beautiful. The way he was able to face such a tragedy and such a hard life now with such peace and grace, working to create happiness for both his wife and himself, was inspiring. In some ways it seems like he's living a delusion, yet there's moments where his wife does seem to be reacting, showing that there is truth to his way of living. His quirky nature of eccentrically planting in all that grass (hopping around it!) and having that cool stick made him all the more interesting. I seriously hope this is not the last we hear of Will and his wife, as they might very well be my favorite characters now. His role was not entirely clear to me, though I know it was something symbolic about man and nature relating to the underlying big story, and Renton and Eureka's at times, near-tragic relationship. To me, this was less of a filler than the Voderak (sp?) girl episode. (One last nopte on Will--he kind of reminded me of someone who'd be in FullMetal Alchemist almost).
The other things that caught me about this episode:
-The visuals--those huge, scythe-like spikes (I still don't understand them well) made for a captivating, almost spiritually symbolic setting.
-Holland's flashback was interesting. I think a young Colonel Dewey was in that pic with Ray and Charles and Holland. Cool!!!
-The visuals of the state army ships closing in.
-It seems like, for the first time, Charles and Ray have an evil nature to them perhaps.

I liked the latest episode. Irony is funny but Renten and Eureka made up for that. Also, nice to see Renten finally stand up to Holland and I want to see Charles and Holland interact.
I wouldn't say that Charles and Ray have an evil tendancy to them but that they have shown more depth as this goes along which is always good. Besides, they still see Renten as their son which is cool. The Sea of Rainbow Clouds was weird. Cool but weird and Renten was doing his thing against the Army. The previews for the next episode are very interesting as it seems like Ray and Charles break into the Gekko. Sounds fun.
Also, is this the first time that they have mentioned Dewey and Holland mentioning Diana? Because I don't remember if they did or not.
Peace.

man, i loved how they brought the song "himitsu kichi" back in this episode.

I don't know about the Dewey and Diana thing...I must have missed that. Is Diana Renton's sister? But I am pretty sure Dewey, Holland, Charles, and Ray all have a past together with Adrock Thurston.
Yes, bringing back the song "himitsu kichi," was very awesome. Perfect timing.
I was hoping for a little more action given the build-up in episode 25, but not bad. Episode 26 had excellent writing as usual and I really felt like this is a break-off point. The first 26 were about the characters' everyday lives and how that brings them together, and now the next 26 should seemingly be about the main story and dealing with the past that's going to affect the future.
A slow-developing series that, like FMA, probably could have been condensed somewhat, but it's enjoyable and has been improving bit by bit.
PS-At one point I heard a rumor that Adult Swim, at a certain episode, would be giving the series a couple months' break like they did with FMA so the dubbing can catch up. If that's true, I get the feeling we're very close to that point, if not there.

I think Bang Zoom had been working on the dub a good bit before they started airing it on AS. Although they could do what they did with FMA, but I'm not really sure.

Yeah, Diana is Renten's sister. Apparently, Talho doesn't like her, Holland has some kind of history with her and everyone reacts in someway when they find out who Renten's father is. He saved the world and all before Renten was born.
Himitsu Kichi... what song is this again? Is it the ending theme and could it be an AAA contender next year? Sorry, I like pimping my stuff.
There's probably a good chance that Eureka Seven could take a break like FMA and even InuYasha did. Its a long series so like ol' boy Dog said, this could be the time for its break.
What sucks is...
