I wonder what the reason is for giving Norb the habits of sleeping, farting and other types of behavior like that. Nothing important really, but yeah.

He's supposed to come off as a dirty old many and not like the holy figure he is.

I get that, but I guess its just that its not really executed all that well.

Anyway in the latest episode, misunderstandings ftl especially here when wanted to know about a family member turns into an assumption of having sex. Its cool how more and more of Renten's past and family is being hinted at (even though I liked that one episode about Diana more than this one) and the last part with Dewey getting his Vicious on against the old members was pretty good as well.

Also, what is rayout? Is it the Gekko State's revolutionary manuscript... or is it what it actually appears to be and is nothing more than just a lifting magazine of somesort. They always hint at it but never go into detail about it.
Peace.

I thought the first half of the ep was humorous then it took a turn a horrible turn for the worse because the second half was way to serious.

Rayout is a lifting magazine with a bunch of subliminal messages that all the other dirty hippies can easily decipher.

I get what you mean about the first half and then the transition into the second half. It wasn't pulled off all that well and the cuts with Renten and Eureka talking (the wide range of emotions wasn't pulled off all that well either) and the rest of the crew was pretty bad and took the meaning away from the discussion the two were having. Also, it again foretells of what's going to happen when the series ends.

Also one, was that Eureka on the cover of that magazine that Renten was looking at? And two, so... I was right about the rayout magazine then right?
Peace.

Hopefully there won't be any more bad transitions like that.

I know Stoner (dirty hippie) wanted to put up a pic of Renton and Eureka but I don't believe there was a cover with just Eureka

You are kind of right, it isn't a revolutionaries guide to rebellion but a actual Lifting mag with hidden messages.

No, no. I was talking about the beginning of the episode where Renten just went buckwild on Eureka, he felt bad because of it and went to the lounge area and started looking at magazines that talked about sex and what have you before Hilda came in and made things awkward.

The magazine he was looking at had a girl on the cover that looked like Eureka before when she had long hair. Later on, Matthew pulled out the same magazine to Renten when he was with Moondoggie before the commercial.

Also... you don't like hippies do you?
Peace.

Ah, the soccer episode. I was wondering when they were going to air that one.

Yeah, I didn't watch it either. But I did catch the end (even though it has completely slipped my memory now) and Dewey urging for war what have you.

Also, I've read (and when I saw read, I mean breezed through) the Eureka Seven manga (volume three) and its not too bad and has the same feeling as the anime, just a tad bit better.
spoiler (highlight to read):
Renten's father comes on board the Gekko for repairs, unlike in the anime, Renten and Holland still have their hard-knock relationship and Renten seems more assertive with wanting to help out and find himself then he does in the anime. And when Gekko State invades the capital (like they did a couple of episodes ago), Dewey corners Holland and shows emotion over him (kind of like a Vash/Knives thing).

Anybody happen to read the manga as well?
Peace.

The episode was entertaining but pretty pointless. Also, why are the older brothers always evil?

That's a damn good question; InuYasha, Dragonball Z, Trigun, this, etc...

Eh, I'm the older brother myself but I'd rather be Sessmorharu than Inuyasha, so yeah.
Peace.
Scourge 02-05-2007 07:45 PM
Who wouldn't want to be Fluffy over Inuyasha?
Nine Kuze 02-12-2007 11:29 PM
They finally made it to that other Correlian person (I can't think of her name at the moment, the one in the flower) and that got to the Great Wall. Also, Norb finally got a bath and new opening and closing themes as well.
Peace.
Scourge 02-13-2007 08:13 PM
That was kind of a boring episode and the new intro/outro really suck.

Yes, yes they do.

I didn't like how they made Sasuka (that's not rite, is it?) look the same age as Eureka, just something struck me with that. Also, the story between her and Norb was alright but the two of them telling it was kind of bad. I was more interested in Holland, Matthew and Lilda doing their thing anyway.

Oh, and Eureka grew out her hair again. Good for her.
Peace.
Scourge 02-18-2007 02:58 PM
Her name was Sakuya and I didn't like how they made her look younger than Eureka but hey she and Norb tried earlier than Eureka and Renten.

The Holland bit was alright I guess, neither all that interesting.

Also Eureka didn't grow her hair out so much as she finally combed it.

I don't know, I mean get what you are saying but I'm thinking of it actually combed. Maybe some kind of power from the flower she was in (yeah, that sounded incredibly stupid to me too), also her scars are gone as well so yeah.
Peace.

Her scars are not gone, since her hair is combed down the one on her forehead is covered but the one on her jaw/cheek is still visible.

Dang - because of last night's snow storm in the Midwest, I missed this show (2/24/07). Can anyone share a summary? Thanks!

Yeah I missed the episode too... but that was only because I was too tired too care, not a storm like what happened to Schoolie.

But a summary wouldn't hurt either way.
Peace.

do you want a summary of epiosde 43?
Nine Kuze 03-06-2007 03:49 PM
Eh, forget the summary... for me anyway, I can't speak for ol' boy Schoolie now that I've seen the latest episode.

Looks like trouble is brewing with the newlyweds and Dewey laid it on a bit thick with the whole flashback-Daddy-doesn't-love-me-I-haet-Holland-I-killed-meh-daddy-in-emo-an
gst bit but it was interesting nonetheless.

Also, I guess Holland and the Gekko State are fighting the Army at the moment but there was one shot with the Army in the background circling behind the Gekko State that I really liked, so yeah.

What was that one kid's name again, working for Dewey. I could have sworn that it started with a D, and they should stop giving him so much time. He's whole gimmick is rather weak in itself.
Peace.

are you thinking of Domonic?

PS: If you don't mind Japanese with English subtitles you can watch this version of EP. 43 The Sunshine Underground.
Note: however the subtitles are no where near the exact translation.

Yeah, and I need to retort about what I said about him in the past. He's getting better, aside from the obsession with Anemone that is. Nice part with his impatience with the captain as well.

The scene with the three replacement Anemones was damn good. Them just going into shock and dying like they did (with some shots of their eyes showing the affect of their pain) was straight up Stanley Kubrick from 2001 and A Clockwork Orange. Damn nice touch.

And Eureka finally showed off her skin... which is turning green. So yeah.

Yeah... they gave better shots of Eureka's face this episode and you are right.
Peace.
