Crazy as a fox!
Note: Yes. I had to say that. It was, as they say ... the only way.
All the same, it could work - if the account was neutral and you could get enough people commited to the project.

Your crazy man.
Honestly I'm saving my money for a PSP and a Copy of Monster Hunter Freedom.

I like ScionofDestiny's idea, of course. Too bad I'm in college right now...
Gaddes, dude, save your money for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Once you start playing, it... it consumes you...

Nah never gonna happen, unless the 360 price drops to like 10 bucks, plus my PC can't handel it to well. Elder Scrolls: Dagger Fall > than Oblivion. So I'm sticking with MHF.

PSP's are a collasal waste of money. I have one and I know - trust me, it is just a way of showing off just how small they can make a screen and still have kick-ass graphics. Even if you don't want to contribute to my idea, I say as a fellow being that you need to save for a PS3 instead. You'll regret it in the end if you do buy one.
YAWN - well, maybe we could do $10 instead of $50 and just spend more time converting.

You do not need to save for a PS3 now. If you do you're forgetting the cardinal rule of Sony consoles...
THE FIRST REVISIONS ALWAYS SUCK. ALWAYS.

nah I want a PSP, so I can play MHF. Yes I am a Monster Hunter Fanboy.
It's going to be hard to get people to send 10 bucks to a total stranger for that season 3 thing.

Gaddes, don't shoot down a potential good idea. Of course it'd be difficult, but if it were ever attempted, rest assured that there'd be enough of an effort riding behind, that some difficulty would be overcome.

I never shot down a damn thing. I was simply saying people are going to wary of sending money to a total strange. No offense but I personally, I would keep my 10 bucks and spend it on something a little more worth while, but people that want to do this, then more power to ya.

I do like the idea of financing TBO3 but gathering $10 from every fan just isn't going to come close to cutting it. What we'd need to do is one or more of the following:
a) Buy lottery tickets in the name of Big O and pray.
b) Find a fan with more money than sense and convince them to bankroll it.
c) Find a way that this could fit the
Ntl. Endowment for the Arts criteria and get the government to subsidize it.
d) Form a company, get incorporated, and convince a bunch of rich people to invest in it.
Beyond those options, I don't think there's a chance...

$10 a month - and it would depend on how many people you could get to finance it.
I liked the lottery ticket one. Too risky though - someone could get greedy and decide that they would rather have the millions of dollars rather than TBO3 (I don't know who would choose such a one-sided deal, but whatever!)

I have to agree with Gaddes about this one, it just isn't very realistic to expect enough fans to put up $120 a year to make it feasible. Especially since many of the fans who are getting into it now seem to be of highschool age and would have to convince or steal from their parents in order to contribute. Perhapse you should set up a poll to see how many fans are both willing and able to make that kind of commitment.

Well alright, alright. I was just being defensive because you're known to ring a sour note in every Season III thread, somehow or other.

Guess you just keep things a bit more balanced and realistic.
I agree that the whole thing is nothing more than a dream, and I agree it doesn't have a great probability of happening, but I dunno, it seems like an elegant solution.
Heheh, maybe SBO would gather money from its members, use the funds to buy Full Series DVD sets, then give them out at expos! Heheheh. No better form of publicity!

We could try to con George Sorros into thinking the big o is some sort of progressive leaning political action group.
(Maybe if we get him REALLY drunk...)

I'm not anti-season three, as it might seem. I would like one, but I do think many of the die hard fans are going about it all wrong, and honestly I haven't seen much to show for the efforts, except the same stuff that we always get.

That's pretty much the only way a fan fund season III is going to take shape.

Well said. 10 bucks from say 100 or so die hard fans isn't going to come even remotely close. The rights are going to be a couple 100 grand, and plus you would be dealing with a big company like bandai, so they would be wary selling it to people that aren't part of a company. Honestly the fact that the whole let's gather money was even brought up shows that it's great that people are so passionate about something, but on the other hand it shows that sometimes anime fans get carried away, and seem to be quite stubborn.

Guilty as charged. You won't
ever see me cosplaying, though, unless it's halloween and I'm wearing one of
THESE.
Well, I'm glad I understand where you're coming from now, Gaddes.

Hmm.
If we can get enough people and some M16's...we could do some major "trick or treating" if you catch my drift.

The answer:
Maybe.
There are no plans to make one right now. There was an idea for the third season - and they purposely left a window open. Originally, there was potential not only for a third season but also for a fourth.
Most fans don't care about a fourth - and some don't even for a third. Others want both very badly. Myself? If they can make the third season with answering all or most of the mysteries I won't need a fourth season. If not, then they'd had better get to work on that too.
