thank you mr smith
how do u people get all these screenshots and make custom avatars
Hey, R. Smith, do you think you could get an animation from a Vice City movie clip? On
http://www.rockstargames.com/vicecity/ in the movies section, in the October trailer. Could you get me the few seconds near the end where Tommy and Lance point their guns down (before it says the "Coming 10/29/02" stuff)? It doesn't have to be avatar size, since I'll be using it in my sig. Thanks in advance!

here u go volt, sorry it's a little choppy, but it's hard to get frame by frame from quicktime moives.

Thanks! It's really nice! Not choppy at all. I don't mean to be nagging, but is there anyway you could scale it down, maybe to about 200 pixels in height? That would be great. Even if you can't, thanks a bunch!

We find mp3 or wmv clips from shows and then use a special tool (or just go frame by frame taking screeshots) to get each frame and then we use an GIF animator (like Ulead ...is that the name? I forgot >_<) to animate them and fix them up into a good avatar size.
Usually getting them into 100x100 isn't too hard, but getting the file size down to (what was it again??)...is the hardest :-/
When the File SIZE goes down, so does the quality. For example, my current Zenigata GIF avatar.
At first it was awesome and really clear but at 125KB or something...getting it down to 25KB really hurt the quality...
I had a GIF animator (demo) on my old computer...but then the time limit ran out ...again...over Christmas break...again...So now I'm rellying on R.Smith to animate my newest avatar

...HE BETTER DO IT @.@ *grabs crow bar*

there was a discussino about this program a while back.
It's called "Infraview". It works for some people, but not everyone (including me :-/)
After that you just use paint to edit the frames and then use the GIF animator to animate
Great!

Thanks again.

err ummmm... yeah it is.... thats how i got each from for my gifs so far. Just use the left and right arrow buttons to move from frame to frame. simple, like me.
proof coming later.
heh... would really help if i could download that movie.... can anyone help me out here?
Download Quicktime (at quicktime.com, I think.) Install it. Click the October trailer. Be happy.
