Big Ear

I think Big Ear has android-hearing like Dorothy, except mutiplied by one zillion. His ears are just so sharp he can listen in on any conversation, anytime, anywhere. He's like a Jewish Santa Claus, who knows when you are sleeping, knows when you're awake, and knows if you've been bad or good so be good for goodness' sake. He's like one of those Cherokee trackers that puts his ear to the ground and tells you that a gold-train just passed by this point two months ago, running low on coal.

Actually, I think Big Ear detects the subatomic vibrations left by week-old conversations in the woodwork and masonry. Yes. Or he's really Big Venus, and so he's actually in charge of everything in Paradigm City, and the only reason he came out in shiny ghost-form in the last episode was because he realized it was time for his body to be crushed by a falling pile of rubble, and because Angel is one hot Dominus.

If anybody thinks they've got a better explanation, I'd like to see them try.

I always figured he was a survielance Android. Probably built in the past.

That or the five Jewish bankers that controll the world built him as one of many spies they use to control the world.
R. Daniel Olk 01 03-26-2006 10:27 PM
SEELE 08, why do you look like SEELE 01?

But I must admit, your "banker" theory could have a place in my Cherokee-Santa Claus concept.

Perhaps Big Ear was a Cherokee Santa Claus of Jewish Banking? That would explain his prescience entirely.

I like Keel because he's so cute! I'm his number one fangirl! He needs more love and so does SEELE. Heck I've even done some SEELE fanart and am working on some more.

But the big question here is....Is the Oil and Electricity that Big Ear consumers Kosher? I mean Alternating Current just simply cannot be Kosher, have to consult the robo-rabbi on that one.

LOL Big Grin That's the best question I have never read in this forum. No, I'm jocking. Indeed, normally Big Ear, if he is a "good Jew", had to choose Kosher elements on him, I mean he must wear Kosher, he must eat and drink Kosher, etc ... But in this 'bistro' (The Speak Easy) I don't believe the alcohols he drank were Kosher; anyway I am not a specialist on what is Kosher or not.
R. Daniel Olk 01 03-28-2006 10:16 AM
What about the information he receives from his mystery source(s)? That dang well better be kosher.

Actually, I think we're all just misinterpreting that black spot of Big Ear's head. It could be that he's suffering from male android patterned baldness--or robaldness, for short. That black spot on his chrome dome is most likely just what his scalp looks like underneath all that hair.

Aaaah, you're a SEELE fan! Well I think that the animé movie Jin-Roh doesn't get much love, so that's why I have a Wolf Brigade Panzer Cop on my avatar. Big Grin

Well, cell phones are apparently Kosher

So maybe thats step 1 towards the first kosher robot.

...Or not.

They all carried MG3s as standard weapons in that movie, whats NOT to like.
R. Daniel Olk 01 03-28-2006 04:02 PM
Nuh-uh-uh! They're MG-42s not MG-3s. Clearly, you haven't spent half your life looking at WWII history books, and playing Day of Defeat and Call of Duty, like I have.

Glad to meet a fellow fan!

Robots with religion....sounds like the new Battlestar Galactica to me! Big Ear is a Cylon!
R. Daniel Olk 01 03-28-2006 04:28 PM
SEELE 01 is a cylon. He's got that horizontal black band over his eyes--ideal for Oscillating Red Dots of Menacing Coolness.
SEELE 08 03-28-2006 04:41 PM
Nah SEELE 01 aka Keel is just a grumpy old cyborg. He needs an oil change and an attitude adjustment to go with it. I have a toy version of him that I feel is responsible for stealing my keys on a regular basis (don't ask).

I've always wondered who built Big Ear and when. Was he built pre-Paradigm or after?
R. Daniel Olk 01 03-28-2006 10:47 PM
Um, I think it's pretty obvious that Big Ear was the one who built Paradigm City. That's why he knows so much about it. He's not a cyborg or a Kosher, Cherokee Santa Claus of Jewish Banking, but a Decepticon Transformer that can transform into giant construction cranes (these were instrumental in constructing Paradigm City). So I would say, "before."

OR, since Big Ear rocks hard like that, I wouldn't be surprised if he was building HIMSELF while he was building Paradigm City. It's completely possible.
SEELE 08 03-28-2006 11:11 PM
Big Ear is Big Venus duh! How else would he know all this stuff....he's the one who created that reality!

Oh and....while I'm at it weird logic.....

Keel Lorenz is blind, love is blind, god is love, Eva-01 is god, Eva-1 is Yui Ikari. There for Keel Lorenz is Yui Ikari! Drooling

Big Ear is a pretty mysterious character. I think if we have a 3rd season, they should reveal more about him.
ScionofDestiny 04-03-2006 09:20 AM
Big Ear seems to be Jewish - you can tell by the Yama (is that correct spelling for the Jewish hat?) he wears - which makes me think that he must be Elijah - the prophet of the end of time. There is a lot of religious symbolism in Big O. Elijah stands over the end of time, over baptisms, and over births. Big Ear is Elijah - at least symbolically - in how he presides over the "The Show Must Go On" - which is the Revelation as far as Paradigm City is concerned - the end of times.

Note: Big Ear probably isn't religious - but it would be a twist if he was. Probably some innate memories that make him wear that hat.

There are a lot of theories - one of them is that androids like Big Ear and the Senator, who seem to look the same underneath their skin, are remakes of real people who lived forty years ago but died during The Event. In this THEORY, Paradigm City is basically divided in two classes - the people who survived the Event and were human, and people who died in the Event and came back as androids (by whatever power lurks outside the "Dome" over the Domes that Schwartzwald crashed into in Big Duo Inferno).

It is possible that the "studio" Roger before the Event knew a man called Big Ear who died - and then remade him for the Roger on "stage".

But that is theory - nothing more. DAMN I WANT A THIRD SEASON.

You're too late, ScionofDestiny; SEELE 08 and I already figured it out. Jeez, the nerve! Tongue
ScionofDestiny 04-03-2006 09:30 AM
Damn. "Bams head against wall repeatedly"

Well - I've got a million of them!
