Meh. I never really cared for what I saw of the series. But to each his own.

Sort of odd, considering that Teknoman and Tekkaman Blade are the same thing.
UPN showed Teknoman which was an americanized Tekkaman Blade.

I know. That and Transformers got me into mecha anime.
Teknoman is a much more dumbed down version of TB, which is more suited toward younger audiences who don't care about plot so much, and it also carrries some nostalgia value. I'm wondering if they'll go with the less edited version recorded in Australia as opposed to the heavily raped American one.
I have no idea why they don't just hire new voice actors and record an uncut version in English, as opposed to just subbing it. I'd still buy it, but come on, give me some incentive!

So they'll only be releasing Tekkaman Blade?
I like newer mech anime but the vintage stuff is what really interests me. So a release of the 70's version would have me a little more excited.
Though if the sub only version they plan to release later this year is truly uncut, then I'll try and pick up a copy.

As much I would like that, this is media blasters. They are kinda cheap when it comes to dubs. If there is already one then you can bet they are going use it.

I heard that Tekkaman(original) was brought over here and simply dubbed. Not edited in any way, just dubbed. Like they should do anime.

I'm sure they can find someone to do it for free or cheap. And if that isn't legal, f*** the Unions and Guilds.

Actually, from what I read, first they're going to release the original UPN dub, then they will release an uncut version.
I liked the series, but I want to see it as it should be, not as it was presented.
I wonder if there were any spin-offs of this series in Japan?

Yeah, they are gonna release Teknoman first. But thats because they aren't going to do for it what they will do for Tekkaman Blade.

| The Tekkaman Blade release will will be a special edition release with remastered video and all the extras from the Japanese LD and DVD sets. |
As for additonal stuff:
There were 3 OVA's, and the series has recently been introduced into the Super Robot wars series.
Tekkaman Blade II was released in its entirety over here, and its frightening how dead on the english dub was with the japanese track. Aki's voice in japanese kept the same voice actress, which was kinda strange considering how much older she is.

Amen to that.
I haven't seen any English DVD's of the original but I have seen Japanese and Chinese import sets. If I don't see any English ones released soon I'll just pick up one of those.
