I ended up with a four disk bootleg that's pretty professionally made, a friend of mine believed it was real until I told him it wasn't.
At least the pirates that ripped me off put some effort into their work as it's actually a pretty attractive package but definately not legitamate as all Bandai logos have been replaced that of a fake company that doesn't exist.

Xeon Negotiator, you may also want to mention the legal Japanese DVDs out there. Which can be bought at CDJapan, or Yesasia.
The first season was released in single discs (I think about 8, or 10 DVDs). A limited "International" box was also released, containing three DVD cases, a booklet and supposly the English dub. So far there hasn't been a Japanese boxset out for season two, although a limited box came with the first volume of the second season.

I thought about adding them, but when it comes to information, other then what's available online, I’m clueless. So, I figure if you’re going to buy a copy why not get one with English. Plus importing DVDs is not as simple as CDs. There’s the whole region thing, and they cost more. But, thanks Naojiro for what information you do have, maybe if I have more free time I’ll add it.

Thanks, I didn't know they had that single available to sell, but it's a good thing you asked. I updated the link on the OST page to point there for consistency and because Amazon Japan is sold out of it.

CDJapan has just informed me that this is now out of print, and that they were in error when that said it in stock. So, if you are looking for this, you're out of luck.

Well, I bought the complete collection on ebay and ended up with a 3 disk bootleg, but I bought it openly from a company that sold it openly, so I don't consider myself at fault.
WTF am I supposed to do, throw my money and the disks away?
BTW, I bought the two Big O season 2 dvds at dollar general for 3$ apiece as well, they were official.
Also at dollar genertal I bought the complete (6 ep) gatekeepers 21 series on 2 dvds for 3$. I loved that show, all 6 eps of it.

I think that if you buy an official copy, then your bootleg sins are washed away.
And if the copyright owners are lazy bums who leave their titles out of print forever, it's not your fault. I've been wanting to buy an official copy of FUTURE BOY CONAN for 20 years now!

I hope this helps:
Media Cavern
You can get both seasons there for about $73. (a bit more or a bit less depending on shipping.)
I'm 95% sure those DVD's a real.
They are even cheaper at Overstock, but I'm not quite sure if they're not bootleg:
Season 1
Season 2

I think someone said that Overstock got the wrong DVD info. I actually had a converstion with one of the site helper dudes about it, so I really doubt their fake.

First off report the user who sold them to you, to EBay. They try to keep people happy and stolen/bootleg things off their site. Secondly, if you used PayPal or a similar service, report it to them as well. They will usually get your money back. Finally, if you pay via a credit card and it was recent, tell the credit card company that you will not accept this charge and let them deal with it. If it was not recent try the credit card company anyways.
As for the where to buy, the Media Cavern place looks like the real deal. I am still questioning the season one collection from Overstock though. The only way to really fine out, is for someone to order it and report their findings.

I just sent my completed bootleg guide to Krang. So I am guessing, but not certain, that it will be available next update. It is still missing a
few things, but I hope that I can fix that within the next month.

I got this one which is a bootleg

But i don't care because it has ALL 26 EPISODES! and works perfectly on my dvd player

.
I had the real one which had 4 discs in it.
Scan Request before and it didn't work on my dvd player because it was Region 1 and my dvd player is Region 2 in the UK

. so i sold it to a comic store and got Big O comics for it instead
