Forced me on several occasions to keep reading late into the night, then do a Roger Smith and get up wondering where next morning went.

Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television by Jerry Mander

Its actually for by Broadcasting class but the book is pretty damn good and makes a lot of interesting points. Its basically an extensive rant about a former adversiting manager's viewpoints on how the medium of television is destroying the culture and society of the world.

So basically, its 371 pages of "Bad form, TV. Bad form."

Hannibal Rising...well I just finished that. Oh so mediocre..for a while. Honestly it took me to page 158 before I found it interesting. Which is a shame but...as I've told people many times before... The book could be about Hannibal's trip to a grocery store and I'd still find SOMETHING to like about it...hahahhaa

Now on to American Psycho. ...or maybe I'll read some manga first, dunno

Oh yeah, not sure if I said it before, but I found this southern vampire novel sereis. It's by Charlaine Harris, and the first book's called Dead Until Dark. And don't let the art on the covers fool you. The series get's pretty raw. I'm up to the third in the saga, and I realized how much I missed reading vampire stories.

Maybe I'll pick up Dracula. . .

I read Dracula for a class.

Right now i'm reading: How To Ace Calculus. It is the love of my life.

My sister is a big Anne Rice fan and this reminds me of the time that I tried to read one of her books...

...Yeah, that didn't happen. Its just the pacing, slow as hell and its over the top detailing really hurt it. But yeah. Also, I found myself reading over the last couple of volumes of the Bleach manga. I would have confronted myself about it after finding me but yeah, the manga is kind of good.

I tried reading Interview With The Vampire. I got pretty far in (which is alot considering this was a few years back) but I lost my place and I couldn't find it again. I'll re-read it someday. And the BLEACH mangas put the whupass on the anime any day.

I've been reading the manga series of Battle Vixens (or Ikki Tousen) for a minute. Its basically about the adventures of this one girl who goes to school where all the students are top-notch fighters and they all fight each other and six other school for domain in Japan... yeah.

Oh and also, this series is like the defintion of hardcore fanservice.

NewScientist Magazine's "Why don't Penguins Feet Freeze? And 114 Other Questions"

Lots of life's questions answered in an overly scientific way. Ranging from what happens when a fly is hit head-on by a train (besides the obvious splat), the time at the North Pole, to the empirical chemical formula of a human being.

Random and very geeky- I love it!

It shocked the hell out of me too, especially when every other panel had a glorified panty shot and ripped shirts that showed off the girls chest every way possible.

The startling thing is, that's just the tip of the iceberg.

John Steinbeck's The Pearl. I'm writing a paper on him for English, but maybe it'll get me around to reading some other stuff.

Bram Stroker's Dracula.

I should be further, but we've missed class for snow twice, which curbs my will to read it.

I just finished Temple Grandin's Animals in Translation, and because she raved about it, I'm reading Descarte's Error, by Antonio R. Damasio. It seems a very interesting book, and I'm relating the experience of some of the patients mentioned with my own observations of people (well, my kids) with social deficits.

Pygmalion
