Vampire Princess Miyu

A while back (before the major storms),
I'd picked up a couple of volumes of this so-called "Vampire Princess Miyu"
animation at the local Blockbuster.

I must say, while rather slow-paced and groaningly episodic,
I was quite entertained. The old-fashioned cel animation was quite beautiful
in the absence of that bitter, hateful CG!!

*ahem*

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else had heard of this one before,
and if it ever got very popular.
I somehow doubt it, but I won't know until I ask.

Smith mansion? O_O

well anyways. I've seen VP Miyu, and well the animation was rather bad, but bad animation doesn't bother me. Story wise it's ok, and charecter wise...I've seen better charecter. Larva was cool though.

Oh, my.
My sincerest apologies, it has been a while since I have been here....
I shall be more careful in the future.

Anyhow...

I enjoyed VPM's animation because it was, as you put it, "bad".
When animation gets too crystal-clear, as it does with CG and
digital painting, it loses character and I find it more difficult to take
it seriously.
With VPM's animation, I can see the work that the animators did
with my own eyes, and I feel greater appreciation for it, as though they
cared enough to take the time to draw every painstaking frame with love,
and not resort to the other shortcut methods.

But, opinions are opinions....

animation's animation IMO. Digital or hand drawn, it's all good. also since this was a tokyo pop release they could have done better on the dub...Studio E is a rather small studio and the VA's got recyceled a bit to much.

I think its a pretty alright series. It has its moments where you just want to hug Larva. I really laike how dark the series can be even if the quality of the cel animation is not to top. All in all its fun to watch.
