Hey, everybody. This is Nine XXVI and this is the start of the first ever (and hopefully not last) Academy Animated Awards.

The Academy Animated Award for Best Sound is awarded by the members of the Paradigm City Forums to the best noted aesthetic sound effects, sound editing, and sound mixing of an anime series. The award is presented to the winner, the director of sound recording, editing, and designing. The director and the anime series they designed the sound for are credited and listed below. The other three nominees of the category are also listed below.

You can check out the 2005 Academy Anime Awards Nominee Ballot here.

2005: Cowboy Bebop - Katsuyoshi Kobayashi
  • FullMetal Alchemist
  • One Piece
  • Samurai Champloo

2006: Samurai Champloo - Yoshimoto Ishikawa
  • FLCL
  • FullMetal Alchemist
  • Trigun

Went with Cowboy Bebop and FullMetal for Best Sound Editing and Mixing. Cowboy Bebop skillfully blends jazz, blues, and other genres of music together so damn well and FullMetal's blend is full of dramatic scoring and I loves my drama Big Grin

Nine XXVI's Picks: Cowboy Bebop, FullMetal Alchemist

Welcome everybody to the 2006 Academy Animated Awards!

This thread is for Best Sound and I've made some updates on the last year version, showing what the details of the Best Sound category all about, who won, and who else was nominated for the award.

Best Sound Presenter: Zopwx2

Like last year, you get to vote for two of the nominees. And those nominees are:

:: FLCL - Toru Nakano

:: FullMetal Alchemist - Masafumi Mima

:: Samurai Champloo - Yoshimoto Ishikawa

:: Trigun - Kazunari Tanaka
