Here's a short news release that mentions the possibility of a Trigun movie:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/article.php?id=7654
I also saw the front cover of November's Anime Insider magazine that says "Trigun 2." I wonder if this is what they're talking about.
This is the best sequel news I've heard since Big O Season 2. Just like with Big O, I'll wait the 2 or so years for this baby to come out!
(I just hope it's an original story movie like Cowboy Bebop and not a crammed movie adaptation/reinterpretation like Escaflowne or RahXephon.)

First Hellsing and now Trigun, Happy day

! When I saw the cover of Anime Insider at a passing glance I thought it was just some kind of joke or another "What sequils do you want to see" type poll and they were using Trigun as an example since the place I'm staying at didn't have the internet for a few days and I couldn't check ANN for anything.
But I wonder if it's going to take the direction of the Cowboy bebop movie and/or stay true to Trigun Maximum. With the other Gung-ho Guns that never made it into the series like Elendra or that one guy that looks like Grave (can't remember his name at this moment...but he's in volume 6). I mean if they do take the CB road, They could still use them if you think about it. They just have to cut the whole

Wolfwood as Chapple(sp?)
thing since the series had its own.
Because since
spoiler (highlight to read):
Wolfwood died and Vash 'defeaded' Knives
I can't see them doing much of a sequil

That would be so awesome! Especially if they went more into detail about "Lost Technology" and a better ending at least better then the series I thought that was a bit of a cut short ending. But maybe the movie could fix that! And yes please keep the same voice actors! Go Lia Sargent!

Yes, we gotta have a "pudding" moment!
Also, I agree about more info about the background/set-up. Some of this is given in the Trigun Maximum manga, but it'd be nice to see it done in the anime.
I picture a movie that features a new story set either after Episode 26 or within the series somewhere (but preferably the former). This new tale could feature a new bad guy, new conflict, or heck - even the return of one of the bad guys. PLUS, it could involve flashbacks that explain some of the origins - sort of like the Gundam Wing Endless Waltz OVA.

I'm thinking that the movie will involve others of Vash and Knives' race landing on planet Gunsmoke and letting a very DBZ-like battle commence.
...or possibly...something completely different. >_>

Insurance claims adjusters with large and numerous firearms.
Yeah..not..not enough people seem to fully appreciate that facet of the series.

This is...the greatest news I have heard in a long time. I will be counting the days until I see this movie, and when I do my life will be complete. Unless of course it is a total let down, in which case my entire life will have been a complete waste. Until that day, I will just keep repeating one mantra, to remind me of my dream. That mantra is (of course):Love and Peace!

I'd be amazing to see Trigun done in the current level of high-quality animation. Not to slight the original series one bit, but some of the animation is a little aged compared to today's standards.
Still one of my top 3 favorite shows!

It's a living, and somebody's gotta do it.

So much for desk jobs.
Really, little things like that are what make anime great.

Well I think the old cell "hand drawn" method worked well for Trigun. I don't think a glossy animation would of done it justice. The cells give it that old timey feel.

(Of course that's purely my opinion >.>;; )
