I read this manga (although ADV releases them about 6 months apart
and only 2 volumes have been released in English so far), so it was very cool to see that (according to Anime News Network) a TV series based on it is in the works!
If you haven't read Ray, it's about a girl who was on a "body farm" as a child (basically a place where body organs are harvested for others). Her eyes were taken, but she was saved by a mysterious man known as "BJ" who gives her new eyes with an X-ray ability. (Yes, this series is a blatant tribute to Black Jack, who actually appears once and awhile). Although by day, Ray works as a nurse at a very strange hospital, she also becomes somewhat of a renegade surgeon herself, using her ability to help diagnose and operate on patients on her own time. She is also determined to find out more about her past- who was responsible for that body farm and what happened to the other children on it?
Even though I've only read two volumes, it's an interesting series so far. I recommend it to Black Jack fans or anyone who enjoys medical dramas. I do have to say that it can be graphic at times (at least the manga), so it's probably mainly for older teens and adults. Hopefully we'll get more info on the anime soon!

Oh-ho-ho! Shredder, my dear, you are quite the clever bloke! You have now gotten me more interested in this matter. I'll certainly have to mull over a volume or two of Ray next time I'm at the book emporium. The promise of more awesome medical thrillage certainly has me curious!
