I remember a while back there was a small Mai-HiME thread going here, so I figured I'd start a thread on its semi-sequel, Mai-Otome/My Otome. It started about two weeks ago in Japan and the second episode made its way to fansub sometime today and so far it seems to be off to a good start.
For those who haven't been following it (or its predecessor), it's an entirely urelated story to Mai-HiME set in an alternate universe where "Otome" are trained at Garderobe Academy to be servants and guardians to important politicians and the like. Most of the characters are returners from My HiME (being both the same in character design and personality for the most part, somewhat akin to a troupe of actors who always play similar roles) with a number of new ones and some interesting quirks added to some of the returners. The main character is "Arika Yumemiya", who was given a cameo at the very end of My HiME. Overall, it's funny (if a bit ecchi) and well animated. With any luck it will be as good as its predecessor.
