If you could rewrite Act 26's ending?

If you had the chance to rewrite the ending to Act 26, what would you have done? What changes would you have made to make it bigger, better or heck, even leave the door open to more interpretation?

If I was the one...I would have rewritten that beginning with Big Ear to show Roger Smith's head ALSO split to show he was an android. Would have made for a truly shocking scene. Scary too. Would have ripped the veneer away from all the hype and speculation about who Roger Smith really was. I also would have had Alex Rosewater using Beck to rebuild R.D. into tricking and then killing Angel. You'd think Alex would have been smart enough to ferret out who the Director of Paradigm City was before throwing down those thunderbolts destroying the city. That act would have ratched up the drama tremendously showing just how high the stakes really were. With Angel dead...no Big Venus and no reset without Alex Rosewater's permission.

I would have had Dorothy realize she was Dominus like Roger Smith and had her take control of Big Duo so she could help Big O in its fight with Big Fau. I also would have made Big Fau far stronger than Big O showing us that it was Alex Rosewater's true choice for the Big to dominate Paradigm City. As for the ending...I would have shown it to be Dorothy who held the real key to Paradigm City because of her nature...being the android who had the master keys to the Control Room and forced the end of the duel to save Roger Smith's life.

I wouldn't touch it. My ideas wouldn't be able to mesh well with the other 25 episodes.

But if they let me rewrite the whole show from scratch.........

I agree with ol' boy. Knowing the type I am with doing anything with writing , I wouldn't rewrite just Act 26 unless I got permission to rewrite the whole damn thing and probably try and have it make sense. To me at least.

But just to put down something, I would have had Dorothy go into some detail into what she meant when she said Roger made his decision, I also would have shown what actually happened to Vera and I probably would have had Big Fau and Big O fight underwater a little bit. That's just to say a few things.

Nothing personal, but I'm glad the writers never went that route.* The relationship between Roger and Dorothy (the coexistence between humanity and artificial intelligence), and what we define as humanity (Dorothy's plight) are what makes Big O a fascinating show.

*Act 26's images of androids being manufactured into Roger Smiths is an interpretation. Of what is left to the viewer to decide, but it's clear that throughout the show, Roger Smith IS NOT an android.

I would honestly move most of the fighting with Big O and Big Duo (short from the "Final stage" part) into act 25; and spend more time giving more clues and hints as to the lights above the city and the whole "Floor 666" thing, not to mention all those crazy gears under the water. I'm not saying EXPOSING everything, I'm saying giving more symbolism so the interpreter can have even more to go on. The fight did kick ass though.

I would have made 26 be 20... And add more episodes, so that the former 26 would really be 39...The more I watch 20 and 21, the more I feel like those would have been great season enders/beginners... Then, perhaps, the show could have been filled out a bit with some episodes that didn't necessarily pertain to the overall plot but helped with the whole mystery thing...

I wouldn't of done much to Act 26, but possibly changed it a bit so it could be carried on into a season 3, but what I would have done is change the number of Acts, I believe that there were many Act possiblitys that were over looked.

While that is true, I don't think their contract would allow them to go over 26 acts.

Well for one, I'd say "screw you!" and make three episodes Act26 Parts I, II, and III to explain/elaborate a whole bunch of the stuff at the end. Primarily, give Behemoth some actual air time, extend the fight between Big O and Big Fau (if not change it entirely), perhaps use "Divine" instead for the ending song (during the Big Venus scene), and definately DEFINATELY continue passed where the current Act26 ends and go far enough as to leave people going "Wow that was cool....Hey wait second, OMG!? O_O"...thus the possibility of Season3 remains while there is still some freakin understanding of season2.

Woah woah woah there..... Where did you hear that at? Is it a site or is there any facts to back that up? If its true than us Big-O fans need to pull together more than ever to convince them to do it.

There was an option for a 3rd season, but CN declined. And that was like what.... a year and a half ago?

Heh, I woulda had Dorothy kiss Roger in the underwater cockpit...

I know its too cliche, but still... I woulda done it like that.

Also, I would have Roger fight Alex in Fau's cockpit, and eject Dorothy's memory circuts. WHY? I don't know, but I woulda liked to see Roger sock Alex in the jaw!

Sorry, being a complete N00B I don't know these things. So is there no hope for season 3 in the future? (I've seen the letters and such, about there being slim to none chance, but I want your opinion on it.)

Meh, I don't know, personally. It took a while to get Season II, so, you never know...

I would re-write the whole second season to have more ass-kicking, detective work and secrets revealing, and less "WTF" factor. Also, an ending that, while open to interpretation, doesn't make you wonder if someone dropped acid into your drink.

But hay, I'd still love him to of had a larger part in it, and Big Duo, he was destroyed in one act... Which is a shame, 'cos then he was twisted and turned into that horrid Big Duo Inferno... Grrrr...And less fakes! Although seeing Gabriel being destroyed made my blood run cold with joy*...
