WHen I first started watching Big O something about it felt very familiar...it wasnt until the end and the begining of the second season it really hit me.It reminded me somewhat in a round-about-over the hill way of Xenogears for the PS1.

Xenogears in adddition to having some ingenious non standard rpg game elemnets to it, by FAR had one of the best storylines ever concieved (can you say soylent green?) and a fantastic score to match. There are quite a few similarities to both stories here and TECHNICALY you could say where Big O stops and leaves us hanging (superdome, skylights) Xenogears had somewhat of an explanation.

So as I say this to ALL Big O fans that have not played it, do yourself the biggest favour possible and get it! It will be hard to find and due to it poplarity and rarity now it will be pricey.

I would not hesitate to pay full price (49.99) for this title. Its worth every single cent.

If you love Big O, Youll love Xenogears

Cheers everyone!

(not to be confused with Xenosaga)

Whoa, really? Cool, cause one of my best friends has played Xenogears, but he's never seen Big O (doesnt have cable) SO, it really is THAT similar? Neat!

Besides, its made by Squaresoft -- er, well its NOW made by Square Enix. I just hafta wait for 3 more months till I gets me PS2!

Later! Big Grin

Xenogears has a much much more fleshed out story but thats not Big-O's fault I mean after all going from just an excerise in design to two full seasons is kind of hard to put together.

I couldnt recommend a better title if you enjoyed Big-O... Lots of stuff is very similar..religous undertones...a supposed post apocolyptic world revert back to a tim ebefore electricity....even an undground area with skyscrapes and subways from "ancient" times!

Sheesh just thinking about it make me want to snag one off of E-Bay.

This title still sells for 34.99 used!

Next pay check I will have to pick it up.

p.s. if anyone is interested I have the Soundtrack as well...

Take care!

'Ey! I just got the Big O box set season two this weekend and watched episodes 14-26. The last 2 episodes made me instantly think of Xenogears (Best RPG EVER!!) In fact if you hadn't have posted this I might have done so myself. To me Big O Is like a Xenogears/Akira mix with all kinds of spice in between.

The stage lights made me think of Solaris, its pritty scary. Did you think of that too? Both stories kick ass. Well anyways...

Cheers.

Solaris for sure!

When it first hit me was the newer walls while descending, EXPO '04 room. It to me reminded me of when you go under ground to find a whole NYC style city structure. Fantastic!

Im def going to get it again, I had it when it first came out and made a HUGE mistake selling it.

For those of you that do not have PS1's or PS2'syou can read the script here...http://www.xgam.org/xenogears/script/

and a novel here
http://www.xgam.org/xenogears/novelization/

DO IT! YOU know you want to!

Until season 3 comes out which may be indefinate, this is the only way to satisfy your thirst for knowlege!

I've never played Xenogears, but I do play FF, so maybe I'll invest in Xenogears to.

What I wanted to say was (even though it's rarther of topic) who here has seen The Truman Show. I watched it before I got into Big O and reasently saw it again, I'd not noticed how simiular the film and Big O are to each other, and at the begining when the lamp fell down I fell into hysterics at my own blindness. If you've not seen The Truman Show you should really track it down, it's a great film, and me (who can watch very few films more than once) would jump at the chance to see it again.

On a side note can any one remember what was said about the lamps falling down at the end of Big O? Something about stars wasn't it?
I'd look on the DVDs but I don't have them yet. Embarrassed Sweatdrop Hopefully my dear parents will get them for me at X-mas.
