2 questions plz help

so i just finished watching the series again, and i just could not figure out why the hell roger could not remember anything about his past. i mean even if he was a tomatoe he should still have memories of like childhood, meeting big o, and norman, etc. why can't he remember that? its not like that was before 40 years ago or anything.


second question. why was there are a set underground of angel's childhood home? what the hell was it supposed to represent? it doesn't make sense for it to just be there for no reason at all.


so can anybody help me out?

He does remember his childhood. He even has pictures of his adopted parents on his shelf.

I guess he doesn't really remember the whole creepy bald rosewater stuff though.

The set underground..... there isn't really a clear answer on that.

When he talked about not having memories, it's not at all clear how far back the gap started. We know he doesn't have clear memories of his time as a "tomato," but in Act 14 he talks about his parents, and he seems to remember his time on the police force.

In Act 26 he claims that he probably erased the memories himself, but he doesn't give any clue why (or how).

It seems that she put the set there herself, to let her create false memories for herself -- if we believe Roger's vision from Act 26 (sorry about the captions: this is from the Funny Pictures thread):
