2-0 Lead for Dallas. And the way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if they swept the series. Miami is playing like they did in February against the Mavs, aka, they BLOW.

America lost today Frown
Nine Kuze 06-12-2006 04:38 PM
Yeah, my fam is in the World Cup faze right now. The United States soccer team sucks anyway, so its not a surprise that they lost.

My friend, yes Dallas is whipping Miami like you know what but they won't sweep the series. Actually, unless Miami defends their homecourt, the series actually hasn't started yet. But still, Dallas' defense is getting to Pat Riley's hair and Shaq, 5 points?! Come on!

In all seriousness, I don't want Alonzo Mourning to win a ring. That's basically the only thing I have against Miami.

Hey, 088nd, are you German by any chance? Just wondering and also, Oliver Kahn's face is real funny to look at for some reason.

Me too, Fujicakes. They have so many stars and good players, its not even funny.
Peace.

Yeah, I am. Well, half at least.

Mexico won vs. Iran today (3-1), so I'm happy about that.

When Brazil plays, I'll be happy.

In all honesty, I think when they were born soccer balls were included with the umbilical cords.

My friend had an ongoing theory that they were born with soccer balls, and chose either to raise the kid or the ball, and play with the other one.

XD

In other news, U.S. lost to the Czech Republic 3-0.

More like got raped! Well technically it was Japan that got raped by Australia (3-1, in case the people here are interested). Scoring three goals within the last 10 mins...so sad...

Got raped?

It ain't rape if you say yes. And they were asking for it.

The U.S. played like total sh** because they were disorganized, and it would help if they didn't make any of their kicks go higher than the top bar of the goal.

I mean, I was watching the moment whatshisface(Johnson, amirite?) made a hell of a kick that went OVER THE f***ING GOAL.

OVER IT.

No, no, I agree, they did suck. They had so many chances to make it and they f***ed it up. Yes, especially the kick over the goal. Well they've got like two more chances to not f*** up, right? So we'll see.

Brazil is currently winning 1-0 vs. Croatia.

Croats are putting up a fight, though.

I'm actually surprised that we have some sort of soccer fans here in Paradigm City. I was going to do a separate thread of the 2006 World Cup but then thought again when I had the notion of my membership being revoked.

Also, not a huge majority follows soccer in the US.

Anyway, I have two words for you: Josh Howard.

This kid is sick, and in a very healthy and good way. I'm not really convinced with Miami's win. I mean, it was only by two points and for much of the second half, Dallas was killing them like a Mortal Kombat fatality. Granted, Miami was only down by 13 but by the way Dallas was playing, Miami was lucky and should have been down much more than that. But Dwyane Wade (I'm getting tired of him and who the hell physically gets up more times than they've fell down?!) called it a comeback and Shaq finally had a decent game. But still, at least Miami is putting up a fight and it looks like everything is in Dallas' favor.

I take him seriously when he says that because guess what, for the last couple of years, this comment has been true.

This is hilariously true. Big Grin

Also, JJ Redick got arrested for drunk driving just two weeks before the NBA Draft, Ben Rosethleihadsberger (yes, I did that on purpose) is going to be okay after getting in a motorcycle accident... without a helmet... without a motorcycle driving license... with a learner's permit... that was recently expired.

Also, Germany beat Poland, Spain killed (4-0) Ukraine, and Saudi Arabia and Tunsia tied 2 a piece.
Peace.

The way Germany did it (it was 1-0, if anyone cares), you'd swear it was rigged or they just got one of the luckiest breaks ever.

In the last GODDAMN MINUTES OF THE GAME Poland is scrambling everyone to get the ball away from Germany, then some dude does a slide kick that goes straight into the goal.

And I'm pretty sure the World Cup is the largest organized sports event on Earth, Nine.

(Brazil won vs Croatia, at the same score I posted last time)

Yeah, that and one of the oldest. But still, soccer isn't as big over here in the US as it is in other countries.

I watching a little bit of the Tunsia/Arabia game and at halftime, it was 1-0. Too bad I missed three more goals because my brother wanted to buy some video games.

Anyway, D-Boy have a good trip and I'll holla at you later (I know its unrelated but still, I thought it be a good opportunity). Big Grin
Peace.

Finally, someone outside of Dallas with some sense. All I've been hearing from the national media is how last night Miami win completely shifted the momentum, and they have a major chance to win. But seriously, that can't be remotely true. Miami played the best basketball they were capable of, and they won by two. It could have easily gone into overtime, where I'm almost certain Dallas would have won. But still, I was disappointed that the Mavs relaxed in the fourth quarter. As one person said it, they were playing to hold onto their lead, not to win the game. Now I know what it feels like to be the Phoenix Suns. Josh Howard was on fire last night. Unfortunately, the Josh Howard Rule was broken for the first time. This was the first game Dallas lost when he scored over 20.

And am I the only one who still thinks the Pistons should be in the Finals, not the Heat? I mean, the more I think about it, the Pistons have to be one of the best TEAMS of this era in basketball. But that's just what I think.

No you are not, and this is not just because I live in Detroit either.

No, No, HELL NO! I live there too but I really loathe the Pistons and the way they played against Miami, they should not be in the Finals. I'm starting to think the only reason Detroit won in 2004 was because they played the Lakers that year, who not only shouldn't have been in the Finals that year to begin with but because they all were injured and pretty much hated each other. Also, because of Larry Brown (BWHAHA!)

Cool, someone other than me noticed that rule was broken, or hell even knew that it even existed.

Anyway, I'm just not convinced with the Miami win. Sure they won't get swept but it doesn't look like they're going to win as well. And is anyone else annoyed by this because the whole "broadcast that Dwyane Wade is hurt all the time yet plays a thousands times before halftime, more at halftime, and then after the game" thing or is that just solely me?

EDIT: For the NBA preseason, the Pistons and Heat will play in Puerto Rico. Just a little bit of news that I thought was interesting to share with the rest of ya.
Peace.

Well, I don't think we really need to discuss that Game 4. I mean, it's hard for any team to win when they're shooting 31% from the field, and 12% from beyond the arc. The media is trying to sell it to the country that the Miami defense was responsible for the Mavs' poor offensive execution, but that's just not the case. They had open looks throughout the whole game, but nothing was falling for them.

What I do want to talk about is the suspension of Stackhouse. That in no way, shape, or form warranted a suspension. It was just a good hard flagrant foul. I understand how Jason Terry punching Finley in the nuts is one, but this is just Grade A bullsh**. The league obviously is angry about the comments that Cuban made on Letterman, so this is the incredibly mature step they take to vent their frustrations. It really sickens me to see it.

Unfortunatly my man, we DO have to talk about Game 4. But first thing is first... wait Jerry Stackhouse got suspended?! For what (remembers the flagarant foul on Shaq)? Please? That's pretty pathetic but I'm looking around and no one is saying anything about him getting suspended but it really won't surprise me with all the suspensions this year. Hell in the first round, James Posey did the exact same thing Stackhouse did to Shaq to Kirk Hinrich and he got suspended. Ron Artest got suspended for elbowing Manu Ginobili in the head, so yeah, this year the playoff theme is stupid ass suspensions. That's really something.

But true on one point, 088nd. Dallas just wasn't hitting shots. Miami was playing some credible defense but the majority of it was because Dallas wasn't hitting shots that they usually and always make.

I found this to be entertaining:

The scoreboard urges fans to chant "Da-Vid-Hassel-Hoff" while Dirk's shooting free throws.

That's just straight up funny. But what wasn't funny was ol' boy Dirk's shooting night. Actually, all of Dallas was shooting like crap but the funny thing is that it wasn't really a blow out game until the middle of the fourth quarter. Like 088nd said, Dallas shot like 31% from the field as Miami went for 52%. Hell no that's not going to get done, maybe in last year's Finals, but surely not here.

Oh yeah, Cuban was on Letterman wasn't he? I saw the article but I didn't read it. It probably would have been funny as hell and now, I have it read it.

On the soccer front, Argentina f***ed over Serbia-Mon. I mean seriously, that's the best way to put and even that's being generous. Read it again, they got f***ed by Argentina. Final Score: 6-0. And the last two came from some 18 year-old off the bench who everyone is praising to be the next Maradona. Damn.

EDIT: The avatar and sig look good, buddy. Nice to see you rocking it. Big Grin

EDIT: Damn, I just read this and ol' boy Stack really did get suspended. Wow.
Peace.

And in other soccer news, other than Argentina messing with Serbia-Mon, Mexico was shocked by Angola with a draw 0-0 after Angola went down a man due to a red card. Also Netherland also drew thier game, but nobody really cares about them. Well that conclueds todays soccer news.
