Yeah, but when was the last time the Rockets won a playoff series, even WITH Yao and T-Mac? There aren't enough balls used in the NBA for the Rockets to be good, anyways. |

That hurts, man. That hurts. Especially since it was the Mavericks that beat them last in the playoffs. But you bring up a good point, kind of the same thing the Mavericks had going on back in 2004. Just not as an excessive point. Also, they don't have Antoine Walker but Bonzi Wells. Damn it, now I'm scared.
The Raptors won't make the playoffs and I'll be surprised if they do. Also, kickass job on the article 008nd.
The Cardinals won 5-0 today against the Tigers for the 2-1 series lead.
Peace.

Shouldn't this be in the new POINTLESS thread, you over-serious sports fan you?
Also, interesting thing (
I sold my soul and ventured to ESPN). There was a all-around NBA GM poll and with the exception of two I think, the GM's have the San Antonio Spurs winning the NBA World Championship and LeBron James winning the MVP. I'm not too down with the LBJ/MVP thing but it is an odd year season is all I'm saying...
Peace.

Yeah, it probably should go in the other thread.
Just for comparison, I want to see what the GM's picked for the '05-06 season, or even before that, to see how accurate they are.
The whole odd year thing seems a possibility, but I'm not going to expect them to win it. They have a lot of problems as a team, too, number one being age. Nine of their best players are over the age of 30. The only players under 30 who will get significant time are probably Manu and Parker.

I don't really have a problem with age, as most people do for some reason. Really, it's like when someone turns 30 every expects them to fall right off or something.
I can see the Spurs winning it or maybe the Mavericks since they're the whippersnappers that almost did last year. I don't see Miami repeating, Detroit has a chance and I would be surprised as hell if Phoenix actually does winning the title or hell get the Finals period.
My Wild Card, and they are somethin' so wild, are the Indiana Pacers. If they're healthy and stay on track (what are the chances of that happening?), they can do some damage.
I need the NBA season now. Even more so, I need Inside the NBA now. I miss Charles Barkley's rants.
Peace.

You should've watched the Cardinals-Bears game two weeks ago. He was their guest commentator, and he was acting like he had been announcing football for years.
Less than a week though until the season starts!

Found it for ya. You can visit different pages from there, like see other GM surveys from other years, predictions, best players and coaches and other arrays such as that.
Are the Tigers chopped and screwed? They lost last night and are down in the series 3-1. Discuss.
EDIT: Also 088nd, I know you're gonna love this. Mark Cuban asked the physics department at the Unversity of Texas to do experiments on the old ball and the new official ball to see what the difference between the two are.
Interesting read and check it out here.
Peace.

The NFL playoffs started last weekend with the Wild Card games and here's basically what went down;
AFC:
The New England Patriots defeated the New York Jets, 37-16
The Indianapolis Colts defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, 23-8
NFC:
The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New York Giants, 23-20
The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Dallas Cowboys, 21-20
The divisional playoffs for the AFC are the Colts vs. the Baltimore Ravens and the Patriots going up against the San Diego Chargers. In the NFC, its the Eagles and the New Orleans Saints and the Seahawks vs. the Chicago Bears.
Also, the BCS National Championship game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Florida Gators is tonight as well.
Peace.
I pretty much expected the Jets to lose. I was just happy that they got into the playoffs after everyone predicted a terrible season.
The Giants, I thought they were gonna lose too. Eli sucks, just because his brother is Peyton Manning he isn't automatically an amazing quarterback. He can do really well, sometimes, but he's too inconsistent. A little pressure on him and he gets scared.
Anyway, I guess I'll root for San Diego, since a lot of my friends are from there.

That's true and Chad Pennington was named Comeback Player of the Year.

The Giants' defense... well, saying it was horrible is a huge understatement against the Eagles and it was Tiki Barber's last game. Also I read this on SLAMonline.com...
Elisha Manning. I demand that everyone here call him by this moniker from now on.

Yeah, their my favorites as well and LaDainian Tomlinson kicks ass. Glad he got the MVP and the Patroits/Chargers game should be damn good.
Also, if 088nd was still around, I'd tell him "Bad form, Romo".
"Bad form".

And they're playing the Indianapolis Colts, just in case Mistress' post didn't have enough of a clear indication there.

Damn you Bears! You beat my Saints, now I don't care 'bout the Super Bowl. Go Colts just for bein' the team against the Bears.
Go Bears! Eli sucks so I dislike the entire Manning family.

I guess I'm rooting for the Bears. I mean, technically, its one yankee team vs. another, and I'm not a big football kinda guy, but the bears have, err, "name recognition" on their side.
Oh yeah, they also have residual Ditka-power.
My prediction: DA BEARS 147, Colts 3.

Actually, the Colts are a seven to one favorite to win the Super Bowl. But yeah, I just wanted to throw that out there. Place your bets accordingly.
Also, with your hate of the Manning boyz (Like Elisha Manning) I guess I can understand where you are coming from Mike. But look on the bright side, it could be worse. Your team could be the Lions.
Peace.
