Here's some news on Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's films that they are filming together. Rodriguez is directing one named "Planet Terror" and Tarantino's got "Death Proof".

They finalized the cast for their movies recently.
Peace.

One of the producers of Schindler's List (Gerald R. Molen) is producing two movies; one, a film about a 15 year old who is drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers and then joins the Navy on a secret mission during World War II. And the second film is a live action adaption of Lupin the Third.

Peter Jackson is adapting two novels into films, one called Temerarie and the other called The Lovely Bones.

Still no word on Eva. Tongue
Peace.

Wow..they're going for pretty much the polar opposite of Stewart. And I can't help but think it's partially because hollywood can't collectively laugh at itself ( though I'm sure Jon Stewart was reining it waaaayy in for that gig, he's easily capable of being alot more biting in terms of wit, but still)

Either that or the ratings sucked which I don't...think they did, not sure.

David Lynch's Inland Empire

Apparently this comes out in november, and from the early reviews it sounds..absolutely insane but in a potentially great way. I mean the only david lynch related project I really remember ever seeing were a couple of episodes of twin peaks and parts of blue velvet.

Supposedly this didn't even have a script, and he just wrote the thing off the top of his head while filming.

From what I remember, I believe the ratings for the last Oscars weren't too good actually. At least compared to past events but I don't think that really falls on Stewart (I personally blame the producers and how Hollywood has been sucking somethin so hard over the past couple of years but meh, that's me I suppose).

Lately, the Academy has been going in a direction to break the old stereotypical image of the Oscars only meaning something to "ol' greybeards" and trying to connect with the younger audience. That's why over the past three years, there have been Chris Rock, Stewart, and now, DeGeneres as hosts. Also, I guess that's why "actors" like Jessica Alba was allowed to present something even though well, if she ever won an Oscar then it we really are in the end times and Google has become self-aware (if it hasn't already).

In news, the Iron Man role has been filled.
Peace.

I only saw the name and thought "wow they're really gonna play the alchohol bit aren't they."

I only saw the name and thought "wow they're really gonna play the alchohol bit aren't they."

And I saw this post and laughed somethin' so hard. When you put it that way, that could be the only reason why he was picked for the role. But if you read the plot it doesn't sound like its going too much into the alcholol;

quote:
Iron Man tells the story of Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor who is kidnapped and forced to build a devastating weapon. Instead, using his intelligence and ingenuity, Tony builds a high-tech suit of armor and escapes captivity. Upon his return to America, Tony must come to terms with his past. When he uncovers a nefarious plot with global implications, he dons his powerful armor and vows to protect the world as Iron Man.

Maybe they do but if you wanted an actor to play a super hero who almost kills himself due to an alcholol problem, then its probably Downey Jr.

Anyway, here's the trailer for the Ghost Rider movie. Looks bad in my opinion.

This chick is playing Frankie Raye (Nova) in the Fantastic Four sequel.

Some news on the fourth (that's right, the fourth) Die Hard movie.

Hayao Miyazaki's newest animated project.

And the Weinstein Brothers, who are annoying the hell out of me since they seem to be producing everything lately, have a couple of more projects down the road.
Peace.

With more about Iron Man, I posted a while ago that Terrence Howard was considered for the role of Iron Man.

Now, he's playing the role of James Rhodes also known as War Machine.
Peace.

Server screwed me over, let's try this again shall we?

Hot damn! Some movie news...

Just in case the makers of the Fantastic Four sequel haven't convinced you that it will suck already (with the exception of the Silver Surfer... I hope), Vanessa Minnillo has been added to the cast. She's the one screwin' the former Mr. Jessica Simpson don't you know?

Speaking on crap, the Fantastic Four, and since I'm in a good mood to torture, here are some pictures from the set of the Fantastic Four movie.

Apparently, Tom Cruise is still delusional because he thinks he can still act. He has three projects at hand right now involving those like Robert Redford, Spike Lee, and Meryl Streep.

The graphical novel, Stardust, is being adapted into a film by Layer Cake director/producer Michael Vaughn.

Get your '24' season six trailer on here.

Also, some Shrek the Third news.
Peace.

There might be a fourth Spider-Man 3 villian, along with Venom, Sandman, and whatever Goblin James Franco is playing.
Peace.

GO Speed Racer! GO Speed Racer! GO Speed Racer! GOOOOOO!
Yeah, its got greenlit and its being directed and written by the Suchowski Wachowski Brothers with Vince Vaughn still involved.

Please your bets here on how much it will suck accordingly.

Also, there's going to be another Street Fighter live movie adaption. Except this time, it revolves around Chun-Li.

Get your 2007 Oscar preview on here.

There's going to be a TV series revolving around Sarah Conner from Terminator called the "The Sarah Conner Chronicles".

Will Ferrell on "Stranger Than Fiction".

It seems like Kazakhzstan is taking Borat too seriously.

I like this oxymoron: "Tom Cruise puts the 'artist' back in 'United Artists'".

More proof that the film industry is in screwed over; Jennifer Aniston is now a director.
Peace.

Speaking of which, here's the trailer for Spider-Man 3.

Somethin' so amazing. The Venom symbiote looks incredible and Sandman doesn't look to bad as well.
Peace.

I'm noting a distinct lack of actual Venom in the movie.

If Sam Raimi ends the movie with that clocktower scene and the first Venom transformation, without anything else, he's getting a fistful of boomstick.

Actually, I think the film does end around the bit with the clocktower if what I read is true. And yeah, from what I'm aware of, there's no actual Venom just the Venom symbiote.

Also...

Also, flimmaker Robert Altman (who got the Achievement Award at the Oscars a year ago) passed away yesterday.
Peace.

I read that exact same link a while ago on the site.

Besides the fact that he's being talked about for serious Oscar praise this year in The Pursuit of Happiness, this is the same guy who was in Hitch. So yeah, karma?

Also in some small news, Spider-Man franchise director has been offered to helm The Hobbit adaption since ol' boy Peter Jackson has been dropped from New Line and all.
Peace.

EDIT: The promotional poster for The Simpsons Movie and the Fantistar vehicle for the Fantastic Four sequel.

"Small news"?

...

Neutral

Nuh-uh. Back when I was rollin' with the Ringers, we wanted so bad for PJ to do a version of The Hobbit. (I think we thought we wanted to, too, but I can't remember.) Seems like this change can't be helped, but my heart breaks all the same.
