AVP2 to be done by special effects guys

Here's to hoping to more actual Aliens Vs. Predators.

I forgot to mention last time that I read that there might be conformation in a second X-Files movie being made.

My understanding, or at least the general consensus among the various rumors, is pretty much everyone involved is willing to make one....but...nobody on any end of the process has, or seems to be planning on, taking the initial step towards making it a reality.

I think it's a possibility, like...the rumors all now seem to confirm each other, and sound less unbelievable and hyperbolic. The generally accepted theory is the movie might not fit into the "conspiracy" plot arc, and would instead be about some random event/monster.

There was an even less substantiated rumor about a Millennium movie...oh internet, why must you toy with my hopes like that.

Something about preparing the world for an alien invasion by filling bumblebees with a virus. It was confusing.

I never totally got how that was supposed to tie in to either of the two seasons it apparently was meant to "bridge". In fact somebody actually had to explain the last...three or so seasons of that show to me, because the whole conspiracy plotline just became sort of ridiculous and nonsensical.

Oh man, I remember the original X Files movie. Something about preparing the world for an alien invasion by filling bumblebees with a virus. It was confusing. I always liked the standalone episodes, like the one with the huge alligator or the fungus of doom better.

I have no idea what's stranger: The fact that there's going to be a Missy Elliot biopic coming out or that Robert DeNiro is producing said biopic of Missy Elliot.

...No matter how much I try to process that concept, I don't think it'll ever make perfect sense.
David Ryder 06-14-2006 09:17 PM
The fact they are making a Missy Elliot bio pic is further proof that the world will end soon and DeNiro is directing it? Wow, I'm no DeNiro fan but come on, one would like to think he's not the desperate for attention.

Edit: And I know this goes without saying but Missy Elliot sucks.

If its anywhere as nuts as her music videos, I'll have no qualms paying for a ticket.

Agreed. How the mighty have fallen.

Also agreed, but like Big Money said her music videos are crazy and unique so it gets point for that. But as far as music solely goes, yeah, its not too high up the list.

Anyway, there's a remake of Conan the Barbarian in the works.

Ol' boy Spielberg has a couple of projects out in front of him. Such as a sic-fi pic that involves wormholes and time travel, Indiana Jones 4, and maybe a Abe Lincoln biopic with Liam Neeson as Ol' Boy Honest.

Apparently, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio went into a bidding war to produce an adapted film from a novel called; "World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War". Pitt won.

One more thing, Chris Jericho is going to be in a Sci-Fi Channel original movie.

EDIT: Who's up for the Green Lantern film? Jack Black that's who.
Peace.

What. the. f***.

OK, you scared me for a second. His name is attached to the film, but he sure as HELL ain't the Lantern. Maybe one of those weirdo alien guys, but not THE guy.

Oh, for those of you tarding out, DeNiro is producing the Missy Elliot thing, not directing it.

Yeah, but I thought it be more fun this way.

And it totally was (I'll fix it Big Grin ). And yeah, D-Boy's right. I actually put down that DeNiro was producing, not directing the Missy Elliot biopic. Anyway, I've heard a while back that either James Marsden (Cyclops) or Ryan Reynolds might be the Green Lantern. Although those guys as well might also be Deadpool and the Flash respectively.
Peace.

I seriously hope this isn't another 28 Days Later. That sh*t was horrible.

I loved 28 days later.

Also when did this book come out? I'd never heard of it, and I have the zombie survival guide (there was a sale, yeah)

There was this two for one deal going and I wound up getting that and this travelogue about australia that I heard was pretty funny.

What makes that book funny (the zombie one) is how...completely dead serious it is. Like it goes into great detail about how a scuba suit is useful since a zombie couldn't bite through it, it's pretty crazy.

Yeah, I didn't know anything about a book like that until I put in the link. But I looked Google for a minute and yeah, there's is a book by that title. Also, its $34.95.

And, even though I know how you are with zombies Sharpie but, why do you have a zombie survival guide?

In other news, filmmaker Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me) went to jail.
Peace.

There news on a new DVD set coming out for The Lord of the Rings trilogy, coming out this August.

And here are some pictures from The Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest:

In other news:
An update on the Iron Man film... An update on the script for the Wonder Woman film... and Brittany Murphy is Tinkerbell.

EDIT: Over at the Coming Soon Forums, they have this thread over there that discusses which type of film genre (or which remake) should Oliver Stone delve into next. Its rather interesting and you can check it out at the link.

EDIT: Also, there's an Iron Man update discussing what date the movie will be airing in 2008.
Peace.

I couldn't find another thread about or for the Saw franchise (although, you can probably take into account that's a good thing) but here's a little somethin'-somethin' about Saw III coming out this year... And an update on the Wolverine prequel.

Check the latest posts before this one for some more news as well.
Peace.

i just read on wikipedia that there is a planned live-action speed racer movie.

in all honesty, i can't see why this hasn't been done until now.

the thing is, it might just end up being a parody. know why? vince vaungh is signed on to play racer x.

now i'm no speed racer fanatic by any means, but if ben stiller plays speed ,i'm going to f***ing shoot someone.

Instead of any actual racing, it can just be 90 minutes of ben stiller having wacky and awkward mishaps involving the pit crew, and being too passive/inane to just explain himself outright.
Hobodoken 07-02-2006 11:55 AM
At first I read that as "Ben Stein plays Speed".

It would be much better.
