Anyway, Wilmer Valderrama is going to be in a movie adaption of CHiPs... Sir Elton John is making an animated movie... And here's the summer movie preview from Fox.

Predicted on MAD Tv, better have Lion King caliber stuff, and the Omen movie better be a worthy remake.

I remember original The Omen back in the 70's. It sucked hard but hopefully, the remake will be better. The cast seems pretty good but still, the original just sucked.

Anyway, small news: Here comes Jigsaw and Saw III... Also some news on Mel Gibson's Mayan epic, Apocalypto.
Peace.

Apocolypto sounds like it will be excessively violent and stuff. I don't really look forward to those other movies though. Saw 1 made me mad.

Is it just me..or...do the other figures in that picture really vaguely resemble some of the monsters I'm seeing in the silent hill trailer.

(Or maybe I just can't wait to see silent hill, and it's dominating my thoughts somewhat)

Hmmm, they sorta do, except the Silent hill creatures are fully bandaged and you can't see their faces on some of them. Hopefully that movie comes out better than the Resident Evils.

Even if its bad, it'll still be better than the resident evil movies. I didn't even see apocalypse once I'd been told there was some kind of incoherent love story subplot involving the nemesis...yeah, the huge green mutated killing machine that can only repeat one word.

HUH??!
088nd 04-17-2006 10:20 PM
Why did you have to bring up Silent Hill?

/Counts days until Friday.

I remember seeing that picture last year. Nice beard, Gibson...

Holy Game Gear, did this franchise ever suck. It was bad all around, bad acting and horrible screenplay and I remember the monster you are talking about, Sharpie. It was cool at first, the only thing decent about the movie, but then it started saying the one word... all the time. And yeah, it got really annoying and its a piss-poor movie.
... Can't wait to see Ultraviolet on DVD!

Also, here's a really good article, summaring all the movies that are going to hit this summer and early spring.

Also, side-note, I came from Kroger's and I bought a box of Cap'n Crunch and Superman Returns was on the cover. What I saw on the back has me worried about the film. There was Kate Bosworth on the back (that's not it, but this too is something that is just has me concerned too) and she had her Lois Lane going on but the girl was wearing open-toe heels. OPEN-TOE HEELS! How am I suppose to take Lois Lane seriously when she's rocking open-toe heels? They're not her. It's just like that one time when a Jehovah's Witness came to my house and she wanted me to take the Bible seriously, but I couldn't because how I'm I suppose to the Bible seriously when the girl pumping it me has faded out blue-nail polish on her toes? It's stuff like this that really worries me and I'm thinking that the cartoon Lois from '97 is going to be better than Bosworth. Just my thoughts.

EDIT: Here's another good article on Spike Lee wakin' up.

EDIT: Another one. The Writer's Guild of America recently voted on the 101 best screenplays of all time. Check it out, Casablanca is number one!
Peace.

Oh triple snap! Thumbs Up Thumbs Down Thumbs Up Superman Returns WILL suck. She was in BLUE CRUSH! I don't believe that we can appreciate her as an actress, or a person. She better be glad she was in Remember the Titans as well, or I would show no respect to her.
p.s. I like cap'n crunch.

And who's Brandon Routh, hopefully he doesn't suck at acting. If his voice, or acting sucks, the studio better throw in Sam Jackson clips from The Man or somethin' on the fly. I didn't see that movie, but it's gotta be better than Land Before Time: Journey to the Big Water, or Doogal.

Brandon Routh was a former soap opera star. I don't where or what show he did but I do know that much. Also, I'm really starting to think that the only reason he was casted for Superman was because he looks a lot like the late Christopher Reeve. Screw all that about him being a nobody and not having a baggage like director Bryan Singer said. Just look at the dude.

What's up with you and The Man anyway? It looks like a common low-browed comedy and was meant to suck hard. I dislike comedy movies a lot but although it does have Jackson and I guess, Levy. But still...

Anyway, Chinese director Zhang Yimou (ol' boy who did Hero) and Steven Spielberg are directing the opening and closing ceremonies to the Olympics.
Peace.

Another Saw movie? lame.
Remake of the Omen? dumb as all hell and judging by the trailer it already sucks.
The fact that Sci-fi is showing their new original Mammoth this saturday. Awesome, nothing like a killer Mastodon on the loose.

I saw the headline, and thought they'd added another one to that "dallas" movie.

The one thats already got an alan smithee directing credit, so you know it's good.

Eh...I was never a big fan of romantic-comedies (date-movies, chick-flicks, etc.).

By the way, I was browsing around on a gaming forum I frequent and found a post about there being a Splinter Cell movie in the works. I checked IMDB and it looks like this is true.

Now, I don't know how many Splinter Cell fans there are on this board but as one I have to say I'm not to hip to the idea of them turning the game series into a film. The plots in the Splinter Cell games have never been very deep...okay, they're average at best. Jeez, even a good percentage of cut scenes during the game are nothing more than snippets from the news.

The problem is, as I see it, is that the best thing the Splinter Cell games have going for them is the gameplay. Take that away and what are you left with? Is the movie going to be two hours of Sam crawling around in air vents and hiding unconscious guards? I doubt it. They could always turn the movie into a shoot-em-up action title and ditch the spy element but that isn't what Splinter Cell is about.

I love the games and Sam is a great character but I don't know if that alone is enough to go see yet another one of Hollywood's takes on a videogame. I don't want to see yet another one of my favorite game series raped and mangled beyond recognition. For this reason alone I passed on seeing Doom (and still have no desire to see it).

I don't know, a miracle might happen and this might turn out to be decent. But as of right now I think no good could can out of this.

Speaking of which, I am going to see Silent Hill this weekend. *crosses fingers*

Oh yeah, while I'm ranting about game based movies I might as well post up a link to a few screenshots for the upcoming Dead or Alive film. It's sort of old news, but still good for a laugh.

What, not an Eva Longaria fan? Although I have to agree that I'm getting kind of tired of her myself, I just don't see her as a good actress. Aside from Deseparate Housewives that is. It seems like she plays 'Eva Longaria', not Eva Longaria playing a character that makes you forget that she's Eva Longaria. That's the same as Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and Jennifer Lopez and I basically hate all their work. Except for Fight Club. Fight Club is gangsta. But yeah, I'm getting tired of the media shoving her down our throats all the time.

Also, the video game to movie adaption craze really needs to stop because it seems like they're killin' it for the fans of the game... and not in a good way either. Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Doom, etc., etc. And now, Halo, SoulCaliber, and Splinter Cell. I'm just not seeing how any of this movies can be good since most movies based of video games suck really hard.

Also, in bad news I suppose, MTV in trying to make people hate them, announced the "nominees" for the MTV Movie Awards. I'm not going to give you the link because I think of you guys as my friends and I'd really, REALLY hate to do even think of doing that to do, so here are a few of the nominees from MTV. Bastards.

quote:
Rachel McAdams - Red Eye (DreamWorks SKG)

She's a nominee for Best Overall Performance.

quote:
Tyler Perry - Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion (Lions Gate Films)

He's a nominee for Best Comedic Performance.

quote:
Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd, Chris Evans & Michael Chiklis - Fantastic Four (20th Century Fox)

They are nominees for Best On-Screen Team.

quote:
Hayden Christensen - Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith (20th Century Fox)

He's a nominee for Best Villain.

quote:
Nelly - The Longest Yard (Paramount Pictures)

He's a nominee for Best Breakout Performance.

quote:
Jessica Alba - Fantastic Four (20th Century Fox)

She's a nominee for Best Hero.

quote:
Jessica Simpson - The Dukes of Hazzard (Warner Bros. Pictures)

quote:
Rob Schneider - Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo (Sony Pictures)

These two are nominees for Best Sexiest Performance...

quote:
Paris Hilton - House of Wax (Warner Bros. Pictures)

She's a nominee. Period, that's it. It doesn't matter in what, just think that MTV nominated Paris Hilton for something-anything as far as movies go.

Anyway, from looking at this sampling of nominees, you can probably get the big idea and know that MTV is probably one of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. Most notably Death.

No other news really but the 5th Annual Tribeca Film Festival (the one that Robert DeNiro set up) is about to kick off soon and here's a preview of the movies that are going to shown at the festival.
Peace... and sorry about the MTV thing.

I thought Jackson was supposedly "executive producer" or something?

edit:

Remember the semi-up in the air news about the Futurama dvd movie? Like the comment from Billy West which was, apparently, a "mistake"?

Groening is now confirming it, and saying there will be four. Also theorizing there may be a "robot god" counterpart to the robot devil in one of them

quote:
in this point in time I'll take Bender over Homer Simpson. Bender and the Robot Devil were kickass.

Yeah it seems like they've picked Bender as the most marketable character (then again with lines like "Blackmail is such an ugly word. I prefer extortion. The x makes it sound cool." it's not hard to see why)

That's pretty damn amazing. Personally, in this point in time I'll take Bender over Homer Simpson. Bender and the Robot Devil were kickass.

Also, yeah, its Peter Jackson doing the Halo adaption movie.

Here's a little somethin'-somethin' about JJ Abrams (Lost, M:I III) being up to direct the next Star Trek film. And then there's this article saying coming that kind of contradicts that/

EDIT: Avi Arad, the producer of a number of the Marvel Comics movie adaptations, talks about the Hulk sequel and who's going to be the main villain. Also, talks about the Iron Man and Captain America movies for a minute.

Also, I mentioned before about there being an Underdog movie coming up. Well, Jason Lee (My Name is Earl) is doing the voice for Underdog.

And last thing, Will Smith going to be starring in a movie called "I Am Legend" and the plot of the movie seems a little there for me put for a preview, he:
quote:
battles mutants that wreak havoc during the night

Peace.
